Polymer clay artist and mad cat lady. I share polymer clay tutorials, tips, and tricks. In between I post about my cats, my life, product reviews, advice etc. I used to do stand up but then I found out that on RU-vid you could show off sitting down.
Thank you for this video! I've had an extruder for years and never used it because I just didn't know what to do with it lol. Now I can't wait to try some of your ideas :).
I play with clay, but I also do a lot of mixed media art, and all the tools and materials I buy for clay that im not happy with, usually work great for my mixed media pieces.
I'm Scottish but now live in the US because of work, & first just want to thank you for this video! I've always used a dryer, but now live in a rental with a bit of space, unfortunately beside a highway in front, but I had no idea how to line dry, lol I remember Mum telling us she would line dry our nappies in the winter & admittedly was a wee shocked, but she always said after they 'defrosted' lol, they would be super soft & the sun, even in winter, always seemed to make them soft & smell cleaner. --No I'm not that old, it's just Mum preferred the cloth nappies to disposable. She passed last year, & line drying was not something I ever thought of asking her, so am very grateful for your vid! I was worried I'd mess my clothes up or something & aye, a bit worried they would come out super wrinkled or super dusty, but I hung a line yesterday, so going to give it a go. Again, thank you for this & I'm a new sub 👍
Hi, sorry you are having trouble. I think you might need to angle the toothpick more and drag it more slowly. Also hopefully the clay won't be too cold and should be freshly conditioned. Hope that helps.
I live in Kansas, in the central United States. I own a clothes dryer, but have drip dried my clothes for years over a shower rod. Have recently relocated to a home with a yard, and considering putting things outside this summer.
This came out beautifully!! I’m so happy I’ve found your channel! I know it’s been quite a long time since this video was first posted, but I am wishing you see this! Your video has come to me in perfect timing. I’m waiting on my first set of mica powders and Sculpey glossy glaze to be delivered this coming week. I don’t believe the mica powders contain any type of binder in them. I’ve also never used anything to glaze any of my pieces before other than Varathane Polyurethane. My question for you is… when glazing a piece where mica powder was added after baking have you noticed the mica colors muddying together easily? Should I be extra careful and cautious when painting the glaze on? Any tips, or do you have any videos explaining/showing this? I’m a tad nervous!
Thanks for the kind words! I am going to be really boring here and suggest that you make some small test pieces, to bake on the mica and then try out the glaze. It's the only way to really know how it will look. It saves you from having to gamble with something beautiful that you have made. Also the Blue Bottle Tree website might have more technical advice.
@@UnrulyHousewife thank you 🙏🏼 I was leaning in that direction. If I had just taken a breath to sooth the overwhelm and excitement welling up within me I would have answered my own question haha 😂 I’m really loving your videos and creativity though! Thank you for sharing with us!
Hello, thank you very much for your videos. Tell you that I have searched in all of them for the technique of image transfers in polymer clay. I would appreciate it if at some point you could teach us this technique. And ask yourself if Cernit Number one polymer clay is suitable for image transfer, either by decoupage or by laser printing on copy paper. Thank you so much!!!!
Hello! The tattoo looks amazing and I just wanted to say good for you for saying no to a bigger size than you wanted! I'm 26 and just got my first tattoo (Zero from the Nightmare before Christmas) and am already planning my next one LOL, I've wanted tattoos for a while but the pain has always scared me away until now. I actually started off with piercings and those hurt way more than my tattoo did. Great video!
I do but it's quite dramatic stuff! Zuul ( who lived with my son) became ill and died! Maisie (the Mummy cat here) had trouble breathing and when the vet looked at her scans she had two huge tumours, so sadly she had to be put to sleep (aged 8). Reginald, as far as we can tell, got his tail caught in a footstool mechanism, whilst in the garage overnight. We had planned to take the footstool to the dump but it got Reginald's tail first! Reggie's tail had to be amputated but he recovered quickly and doesn't seem to miss it. Mog is fine, Gizmo is fine, although he was looking for his Mum at first. Stouffer is 16 this November and is thin but very strong willed and has become a 100% lap cat. Those wooden chairs finally got taken to the dump a few days ago, their legs whittled down to almost nothing. So we have four cats now and Brandon has none. Thanks for asking. ❤
It's purely so that I can add the covers and press patterns into them etc, whilst still maintaining the shape of the book. You could bake them at the same time, it might just be a little more tricky. I like to make the foundation parts and then build on that but it's a matter of personal choice.
Brilliant.. good on you! I've just turned 50 and have been pondering tattoos for last few years. Don't think I'll be brave enough to commit any time soon though ha. Are you still kick boxing 6mths in? x😊
Yep, still going. Literally the best 65 year old lady kickboxer in our village. 😁 Tattoos don't hurt really and once the novelty wears off they just become part of you. The aftercare is the annoying part but it soon passes. xx
Loved this video and the wonderful interaction between the two of you. So much fun to watch and Brandon's pendant turned out beautifully. You made my day.😊❤😊
I just saw your video I do not have. Sense of Smell either and what you said in your video was soooo RIGHT ON One of my 4 daughters cannot smell either and she is an identical twin but her twin can smell Anyway I have never run into anyone else who can’t smell and people don’t get it but you do and I can tell by what you have related and NO we are not lucky
Wow! It's crazy that only one of the twins has a sense of smell. Glad you enjoyed the video - we have a perspective on the world that not many people understand. xx
Thanks! Probably not my favourite video of mine 😂. There's one about tools I regret buying which is pretty funny even if you don't clay. My delivery looks confident because I used to do stand-up, so performing something I could edit didn't feel too bad. 😂
I'm 40 this year but them finger protectors had me giggling like a school boy thinking what they would of been called if we had them in senior school art classes 😂.
