I must like to mention here that its been centuries now since medical science has not developed any mechanism for treating epilepsy for a complete cure or there is no definitive permanent cure for Epilepsy at this time. The pharmacies spends millions of dollars into their research laboratories but we still are discussing here that what fruits are anti seizures or pro-seizures and still no "clinical" research is yet finalized.
Unfortunately the brain is so complex and there are so many different epilepsies, genes responsible, injuries, and other factors… We need far more funding for research support from both governments and pharma to learn more and provide more effective treatments!
yes you are right@@EpilepsySparksInsights i think pharma just want to spend money on getting more business and incomes for what they are selling.....a full remedy or a complete cure of a specific disease from the world means that pharma business is ended for that specific disease....Its worthy enough isn't it ?
My doctor is hugely involved in the gut/brain relationship. Therefor, incorporating black berries, cherries and blueberries have proven to be amazing. They help with constipation and actually release endorphins (more than the brain) and relieve stress and boost confidence. I had a breath test performed by my Gastro doctor to make sure these combinations of fruits fermented in a positive way, as it does not perform well in everyone. Also, a stool sample was performed. I hope this helps.
what fruits suggested for Pakistan region. I am been to epilepsy since three years. I have operated last year for brain tumor diagnostics. I am taking medicines. I want to add some fruits so that it can be cured earlier.
We don’t know yet @remmy. However, It’s important to avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice when taking some epilepsy medicines. This is because a chemical that is naturally found in grapefruit can increase the levels of these medicines in your body. This could increase your chance of having side-effects. The medicines that can be affected by grapefruit are: Carbamazepine Diazepam Midazolam
Please what about Periventricular nodular heterotopia (PNH) and epilepsi? What happends what can we do? Does the seizure become worse when a child grows up? What triggers it? Please I need help
This is something to speak to your neurologist about - we can’t advise I’m afraid. However, please do take a look at this trusted website where they write about PNH: www.epilepsy.com/causes/structural/periventricular-nodular-heterotopias-pvnh#:~:text=Periventricular%20nodular%20heterotopia%20(PVNH)%2C,the%20brain%20called%20the%20ventricles. I hope that this helps!
My dad has bought my favorite fruit, watermelon but I can’t have any of it because of it causes my seizures. What should I do? I want it really badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There isn’t something identified as being “good for epilepsy” at present. I advise you keep an eye on the work of Farooq for any potential developments.
Medical cannabis or cannabidiol (CBD) is not a cure for epilepsy. It helps some people as a treatment option though. See here for more information: www.epilepsy.com/advocacy/priorities/medical-cannabis-cbd
@@EpilepsySparksInsights sorry for my harsh words i started believing medicine only after seeing pills keep seizure in control upto 90% life would have become difficult without it i take sodium valporate 500 mg fot past 17 years.
My son takes MCT oil everyday and I know it helps him. Why not study other foods and fruits in general? Pharmaceuticals are helpful, but some people do not respond to these drugs
@@indranisutradhar6529it is Medium Chain Triglyceride. Most common source is raw coconut oil. If you reduce your sugar and carbs intake, but take more fats, protein and MCT, your body goes into ketosis. Your brain that needs energy starts to use the MCTs and broken down fats and proteins instead of sugar. The benefit of this energy source is that it stabilises the brain electrical activity, as it doesn’t have the glutamate neuro-excitatory of processed sugars, which creates electrical surges and in many cases induces seizures.
