Daniel, you are correct to question and criticize because the grading companies are vague about how to get coins labeled correctly

I totally agree with you, PCGS and NGC don't care about errors unless is a HUGE and more than obvious error, die chips and cuds they don't care. Anacs is the king for error attribution, just keep that in mind. And for grading we know PCGS is the king

I overpaid for a $20 note error submission and PCGS kept the funds. No refund. No credit. Not even a "Thanks dumb*ss!"

Thanks Daniel. I know you got an upgrade on the one but they need to do you right. I don't know if you get to a show that PCGS reps might attend or how far out they are from today but if you do, take the coins and paperwork and talk to them. I mean if you want to resubmit them and still have a profit margin with that, I guess that is a way to go too. Might be quicker. ANACS is great for the varieties and errors and them putting that on the label....but then you don't have PCGS. Makem get it right or have them help you understand why they did what they did. I wish you well. Really NICE coins !! BTW its kind of cool to see the likes and views go up while typing.

Another great video Daniel. The coins that you submitted the one coin you found that you submitted under the wrong thing, you submitted under varieties instead of the error. If the other people would of read what you wrote instead of blaming PCGS, because of their bad luck on their submission they would have seen what you wrote. They are mad about what happened to them and not taking the time to learn why they didn't get what they got for their coins. I am not saying that they are wrong but they need to take the time to figure out how and why they got what they received. Thanks again for all you do Daniel.

If I'm in Daniel's position of owner of brick and mortar establishment, I would most likely send the majority of my coins to any one of the big 3, use to be 2 👉🏻CAC in the game now, but if I'm just Jo shmo ( which I am😉) collector and novice seller of numismatics I send those errors and varieties to ANACS. My personal experience in selling or flipping slabbed coins of this nature has always been surprisingly very good. Seems the errors and varieties that ANACS accredits are just as valuable as the NGC and PCGS. ANACS has this sort of integrity concerning these type coins. I don't know if anyone else feels the same. I've done many submissions over 30yrs and ANACS holds a special place in my nostalgia vault. I have several coins slabbed in the very first year of operation. Boring to most, It never gets old looking at a 1884 S MS66 Morgan in a 1st year ANACS slab💯🇺🇸👈🏻🙏

PCGS needs to update it's price guide with all errors,varieties, etc. there's also a bunch of ddo's not listed currently in their price guide, what are they waiting for? they make millions of dollars a year they can hire someone to do the update including PUp's for every coin so new collectors will know where and what to look for and what a variety or error should look like, etc.

I'm really not into the error coins, but if I had those submitted, I'd be disappointed like you. Thanks for sharing, Daniel. 😀

Great video and feel your frustration,usually send coins to NGC,sent a 1871 s morgan that looked proof like and at least a 64 or 64 + but came back ms 63 and have sent coins that seemed over graded to what I thought they were,makes me wonder just what kind of qualifications it takes to be a coin grader at these places,I don't know.

I sent 9 coins in to PCGS. ALL of the coin have errors. PCGS was quick not do ANYTHING for nearly 3 months. Then I get a call asking to update my CC for charge. I then get my coin back RAW-Graded with ZERO ABOUT ERRORS. I call and complain. They point out yes I did send in photos and on the descriptions of the possible errors. I did not however check the verity blocks. Do you think PCGS would call and tell me, "oh sir as a long time customer did you intent to forget to check the box?" PCGS SUCKS for a customer. I am NOT happy and DO NOT RECOMMEND PCGS in ANY coin grading. Unfortunately I did not see this warning video before spending money with PCGS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PCGS.

I hate to say it, but it is my opinion that PCGS didnt give attribution because they "pick and choose" the "popular" ones. Example: ANACS gives attribution to all VAM's, PCGS/NGS only does the "Hot 100". They are just stuck in their ways. I have a raw 1922 Peace dollar (about MS63ish) VAM 6-A. NGC has it as a Variety Plus for an additional $18 and calls it 'DDR leaves and crack'. Over at PCGS, they only give attribution to the VAM 6 (DDR leaves) only, not the 6-A. Crazy, frustrating.

I feel your pain, Daniel… it’s funny I was just talking about this kind of issue earlier today. I’ve been the beneficiary of a similar issue. I bought a peace dollar off of eBay. Nothing major…it was an MS63. When I received my coin, it was an MS64 and it had a non-notated “whisker jaw” attribution. I was pleased considering how little I had paid for the MS63 coin that I thought was coming.

Daniel, I feel you pain so much that I now send in my error coins to ANACS and forget PCGS and then try to cross the better ones over. If it doesn't cross well at least its attributed for way less money to put out

The coin you have that you said is a reverse cud, I have a wheat penny that has that all the way around the edge of the coin

I think that the RPD is RPD-006 in the Flynn book....

I've had many issues with PCGS. I like ANACS and ICG, but they don't get the value for sales that the other two get.

I also believe that is a “Pre-Cud” “aka” rim to rim die crack and not a full fledged cud.

Definitely worth a shot.

The more I learn about PCGS , the MORE I LIKE about NGC !!!

I think they would claim it's a dramatic die-break and not a cud, because it's not detached. You can still see the denticles.

I'm frustrated too. I sent PCGS a 1989 Lincoln cent with a 1988 FG. It came back genuine questionable color UNC detail, not gradable. Nothing was said about the FG. So, now what?

Great information because I am sending a coin to PCGS and I'm not sure if it's a double die 1969 s. I sent info to PCGS and they referred me to a local PCGS dealer which I am contacting Monday and he's going to take a look and give me a hand rating this coin and sending it in.

Until enough complaints are made and enough money is redirected from these less than professional grading companies, this will continue. And people, quit talking out of both sides of your mouth about these money grabbing scammers. Enough shenanigans over the years has happened to where their pocketbook should be targeted. Umbrella corporations only care about their bottom line, not the products and not the consumer. Unless you're an owner or investor like David Hall or David Lawrence submissions, which are in most cases overgraded.

Now I know why my coin doesn't have a premium. One thing Daniel they charge for Error attribution so why wouldn't they put it on the label??? Sometimes I think the Grading Process is kinda rigged for the Rich!!! It kills me the amount of fee's they charge!!!!!

PCGS will only attribute varieties listed in the Cherrypicker's Guide. It has to have an FS# for PCGS to put it on the holder. ANACS was really tight on grades last batch I sent to them. What do you do when everyone expects ANACS grades to be high and the one's they graded for you are low??

I have a Morgan dollar that has a strike thru error. Wondered if it would be attributed.

Interesting in that I have a two-cent with a large cud on the reverse from about 10 to 12 o'clock, lower grade so not high-priced. Makes me wonder if these coins were prone to breaking their dies.

I think it is more of who you are more than what the coins in the 3rd party grading anymore and if everyone would just list coins as is for sale without grading and not use the graders for 30 days they would feel the pinch and open their eyes to the fact that everyone is equal and not just the high end collectors that supports their realm of grading for the elite

They could have labeled them cud break 1, 2, or 3 die stage

May be you should add a CAC Sticker first, before have it regraded by PCGS it may help you get the correct label and the higher grade that it is Worth.. Or that you are asking for the mint error die brake Cud...it is pretty close to the other one for sure ..too. What is

Or the next time you go to the fun show or any PCGS show go up to the PCGS booth and ask them . Don't forget to bring your original submission form.

You already had 60$ in grading and wrote that it may need mint error.. a business that wont call and or just upcharge the 10$ doesn't need your business. Exact reason we quit using them. They want you to resubmit for the easy double fees, just like A/T coins that you can clearly see are natural.

I have a 2020 d mint dime and i haven't had it graded it is most likely ms67 or ms68. I took a picture of it.

Also, if you paid them the extra money for attribution that they dont "recognize", you would think they would have a credit on your account with them to use on your next submission.

First of all,pcgs & ngc usually does not note anything about that type of error cuds,rpd, ECT.... Those two grading companies will only note a major or obvious error.. And will" State"( MINT ERROR) on the top of the label... Now, ANACS on the other hand,is another thing... Submit them to ANACS.

I am brand new to doing this. I sent in 5 coins. 2 of the coins might have doubling but I'm not sure. So, am I supposed to pay for extra services? What happens if there is no doubling? Am I just out the extra money? I just assumed they would look the coins over and tell me what the issue's are then I can pay the extra fees. How do they expect someone like me to know all the issues and pay upfront? I don't get it. Thanks. Un your opinion is it best for me just to leave my coins as regular service?

Do t feel bad. Easier to.solve than my situation. I sent a 1945 Philadelphia Mercury dime that is an uncentered broadstrike with full split bands to ANACS, PCGS, and NGC. Called all three in advance to verify that I would get stamp designation. They all said yes. They all lied! Spent so muchoney! Have contacted CAC grading and sent it off. Fingers crossed. Frustrating experience!

I mostly hear negative feedback regarding PCGS. I don't know why dealers and significant collectors don't revolt and stop using them altogether? Second tier companies like NGC typically try harder.

pcgs is just starting to suck. i send my coins straight from the mint still in holder and get mabye 1 in 20 pr70. i would rather just get them from ebay at least i know what i'm getting, instead of wasting money on pcgs over pricing

PCGS says they will confirm and attribute errors on coins then another person says you have to have it attributed by a professional first.

Bad on their part, you paid extra for them to do a job, you did most of the work and all they did was take your money. I like ANACS but in the market they are the 3rd dog in the pack.

Ive found when getting my coins graded there they do the least amount of work as possible. Also, they don't recognize varieties as often as they should. Lack of knowledge or just to fast to process

these companies are in my apionion ruining the hobby ...they take atvantage of there power 120 to grade that coin is out of line...cant spell btw...

They did the same thing to me so I've dropped them altogether

I think is a lot of money to grade a coin, 37 S&H plus 120 for grading. plus inflated value.
