This tutorial is designed to show newcomers to Farming Simulator on PC how to download and install 3rd party mods from Mod sites and install them correctly on your PC and then how to activate them in-game.
Please always use reputable mod sites and if at all possible download mods from the original modder's website/Facebook page wherever possible. ALWAYS RESPECT MODDERS WORK! They give up their time to develop amazing additions to the game, and for that, we should be incredibly grateful as a community.

Question about updating a mod. When a mod needs updated do you just re download the new version and drop it in the mods folder? Thanks in advance!

Yes it’s as simple as that, just make sure to either delete the previous version or ensure you are overwriting it so you don’t end up with two copies in your folder 👍

My advice would be a few at a time, then if there are any issues you know at what point the issues stated rather than having to go through your entire mod folder 👍

I'm having trouble installing Spectacle Island and the corresponding gold production mod. I already put both of the mods in the mods folder, but nothing happened, even restarting my PC didn't do anything. I also unzipped both of the mod folders in my downloads folder, but there weren't any zip folders in there either

For whatever reason my FS19 game file is missing the Mods folder, So i just dropped my 3rd party mods into the pdlc folder and it works just fine.

Hey bud good informative video. Currently I play farming simulator 20 on my iPad. Planning on buying a new PC and getting farming simulator 19 in the near future. Have a lot to learn. I don’t have or use face book how would one download a mod from someone on face book with having an account. I don’t really want a face book account. Thanks.

Some modders pages are public so you should be able to see the pages and links without needing to have an account, in addition, a good number of these modders will have their mods on sites such as yesmods.com so you'll not struggle to find them. You'll absolutely love FS19 on PC! Have fun!

Ok, I'm having a problem with getting the updated version of a map working. Okay in the description it says to not delete the original file or the name of the file for original version of the map. But I downloaded the new updated version and none of the updates are on the map when I load it. What am I doing wrong? The map is Seneca County btw

Been looking for a mod, maybe you have an idea as to where i can find it, or even if there is such a mod, Its an ethonal plant mod placeable, is there such a thing, if not how hard would it be to import one from another map. or is that even possible, ive been playing on the Midwest Horizions map

Hello thanks for info, I do this from farm sim site download mod straight to mod folder and works no problem, but when I use multi player with partner and they have exact same mod . when looking to join in the multiplayer screen the host doesn't show up?

That seems more like a server issue than with Mods I think (remember you also need to have not just the same mods but the same versions of those mods too)

Hey, quick question, I installed GrimmeMultiroder and it works fine for me and goes into my mod folder no problem. For some reason though my friend can't transfer the folder into his mod folder. It starts the transfer but once complete it doesn't actually show up in the folder. full name of the mod is LS19_GrimmeMultiroder_neu. Works fine for me but it won't show up for him. Any advice? I thought it was cause of his game is out of date but thats not it. The only difference between our games is I installed from epic games launcher and his is through steam. 11/29/2021

Hi, I'm not sure the issue there at all, the only thing I can suggest is he tests it on a single player map with no other mods installed and check to see if he can see it there. and the other option is to redownload the mod, it's possible it may be corrupt. I hope you get it sorted

@@TheFarmSimGuy found out the issue. for some reason it was going into a saved game folder instead of his mod folder even though i watched him drag it to the mod folder. just glitched out we dont know why lol.

I know how to do it but I had to get rid of my mods but now for some reason I reinstall them from third-party stuff where I got all my mods and probably you get a lot of your mods I put them in there and now they’re not showing up in when I go to a game so I wonder what I can do so can you tell me what to do but when I go to the in game mod hub the show up but when I go look in my game thing they aren’t there so what should I do?

That’s odd, I assume you are leaving them zipped and the file names haven’t been changed?

I'm no rookie at this stuff from FS17 and did a lot of modding but checking the box does not always put it in the store, at least with FS19. About 80% of my mods do not show in the store at all. Some even show in the games MODHUB as being installed and checking the box still won't show in the store. On top of that there is no error showing in the log file as to why. I'm on version 1.7.1 so that ain't the problem. When the error: unsupported modDesc pops up I check the folder and the modDesc is the correct number.

@@TheFarmSimGuy They are. I went a bit further and experimented. Removed all zipped files from the mod folder and left unzipped ones in there then replaced them with zipped ones. On both occasions the mods loaded. Still others wouldn't load either way.

So I have a question, I plan on getting a PC and noting its towards the latter end of its life, theres thousands of mods il want to download. Is there anyway I could download them all onto a separate computer and just copy and paste the list into my new computer when i get one so I dont have to spend a week mod hunting? If not its fine. Any other beginners tips will help too

Yes absolutely, my tip would be to perhaps get a small external hard drive and just copy the mod folder over to your new computer when you get it, you should have no issues

It's exactly the same process for maps,. have you read the details of the map you are downloading? some have additional mods in the zip folder you need to extract, but the map maker will make that very clear

No, I don't share other people's mods without their permission, other than a few that I've been given by modders to test or ones I've edited them myself, they are all available through the modhub and various mod sites so should be very easy to find.

If you have a multiplayer server, you just need to make sure you both have the same mods installed on the server and on your computer

The game creates a mod folder by default, there must be one. make sure you are looking in the right place

It's a pretty tried and tested method that everyone uses I've done it this way for 3 years, so try again and follow the steps exactly.

Have you installed mods before? If not, try installing one from the ModHub, that will create teh folder then you can add more in.

Even though there are loads of comments saying thank you and that it does, and I use this method all the time? My guess is you have done something wrong rather than the method not working
