GS is currently heavily advertising the visual improvements of FS25. Because this is how you sell a new game. They didn't say much about new gameplay mechanics (Flooding a field and watching the water evaporate is like watching wet paint dry. Swathing without crop moisture is actually pointless. The (part?) of the GPS system shown, is pretty much an alternative AI worker, with little to no gameplay value). This does not mean, and I really hope, that there are no new gameplay mechanics. So far we didn't hear about an improved seasonal cycle, or if the many features of the precision farming DLC get integrated into the base game. For example, the precision farming DLC introduced GPS painting, eg. when fertilizing, in the mini map.

Did anyone ask about weather being a factor? After 16 years, you'd think they'd make weather a factor. It's kind of one of the most important parts of farming and they've pretty much left it out.

I seriously think they should focus on the physics like in Mud Runner. Maybe not as severe, but it’s a major part of farming. In the north of England for example, the land that is farmed is Peaty. It’s soft. It’s sticky. Even the best tractors get stuck there. Self rescues or winching etc would be epic to introduce into a game.

This ground defamation is nice but it's also disappointing. Its the bare minimum effort and effect. Simply visual it seems. And that is the disappointing part. Ground defamation is only important if it affects the game play. Tractor getting stuck in mud. Or having to use a plow to smooth out ruts. Or ruts on dirt roads or grass fields cause a rougher drive. The effect beings mostly visual like I said is nice eye candy. But it is the bare minimum so not very impressive for a game that's been active for more than 10 years. This is the problem I'm having with giants and fs. Seems like the last few versions of the game have really just been slight upgrades to visuals and content. There has been no real new concepts added to the game. Giants need to add more reasons to do the things we do in the game. Right now it's based solely on money. To buy better equipment to do the same thing just a little faster. That's the whole gameplay loop. Example. They added livestock. But there is no processing of the livestock. Livestock can't die due to failure to feed and water them or due to them getting sick. All things that happen in real life. There needs to be more reason to do things. Needs more cause and effects in the game. Reputation with the township contracts with larger businesses like Costco walmart Kroger. Piggy wiggly. And no telling how many others from around the world based on map location. But that can be a thing to. Import and export systems put in place. And each of these should have an impact in some way besides just money. That would give gamers a reason to want to do this simple game loop over and over.

Now they have dropped old gen, it has opened a whole new world for console players. With so many more announcements before the game is released, I think we could really be in for a treat in FS25

Like you said, some people won’t be happy, and I’m one of those. Let me explain. What they showcased on farmcon isn’t what people were asking for. That “ground deformation” is just the tyre track system but a bit expanded. You can see how the texture just deforms in a weird way, the cultivator lanes are still there but just a bit under the ground level, which is not realistic. Believe me, I want to love this series, and I ordered the physical collectors edition, but word must be said that giants has a huge problem, and that is the lack of a serious competitor. They got very comfortable on their golden chair and are just not making any significant progress, and that’s why many people call this FS19 3.0, because aside from some graphical improvements that are way behind of today’s standards and some new crops that won’t be planted by many people, this is still the same game. And, as I said, I bought it, and I also have the right to criticise when things are not been done right.

the more you drive in one spot the deeper the ruts get? Mud being implemented for traction purposes and deeper ruts.

Hello Mr sealyp no one asked about what would make your tractor get dirty and filthy. Like if you use lime does your tractor turn white and if you cut grass making your tractor green. That's I would love to see on this edition of farm simulator 25

General question. Many of us purchase our games on steam. Just a great way in my opinion to keep our library safe and in one place. But I would also like to support the content creators. Is it possible to purchase FS25 allowing a creator credit while still keeping the game in the steam library? Can I purchase a digital copy, and add it to my steam library? What are the options? I think if you can answer this question, it would help a lot of your viewers. Thanks.

Totally agree, I'd like to see a new harder level, where crops can rot due to weather, animals randomly die due to disease, machinery disappearing ie stolen all as in real life, don't see it happening tho!

My thoughts about your final question of what is gameplay defined deformation are long and complicated so I put them on your discord in FS25 chat channel. In summary, I think Stefan means deformation from tools rather than gravity. Exciting isn't it?

I guess regarding gameplay causes terrain deformation Giants means rain will cause mud and tires can get stuck in mud, this would also fit to the enhanced dirt on tires.

Okay, what about Muddy Boots. Every farmer deals with muddy boots.

Not to be toxic but mud falling off tires or them looking wet from rainy roads is on the bottom of my list Giants need to focus on FARMING stuff...wasted money and time in my eyes

The tracks through the plowed field are no different than what we have now for snow. So I would assume it acts the same way for fields as it does for snow.

Hope things just aren't automatically done, want more hands on. I want to pick what cows (pigs, horse, etc...) get pregnant and have to have a male in pin. Want something other than logging to do in winter (fishing, hunting), something to do on off time. Maybe have are character have to eat and sleep??

This is all good stuff. I just hope after all these upgrades that you will be able to reliably pick up a log

Did anyone think to ask if rain affects anything? All he meant by the game can control the ground deformation means that they can code to have the ground deform outside of the physics system to fake things. None of the mud or ground deformation stuff matters unless it affects something. Anything they add that is merely visual should have been at the bottom of the backlog of stuff to add to this game if you ask me. But then again, they have to please the console guys. I dont think streamers were allowed to ask hardball questions like weather affecting crops, or rain affecting hay, etc - you know the stuff that matters to farmers in the real world. If anyone pre-orders this they're nuts. I'm waiting to see how bad it is. Stop feeding Giants poor habits of drip feeding us content with no real changes to the actual core of the game. The fact that they haven't ditched their goofy engine by now is beyond me.

does weight of something make difference?

"The memory requirements would be huge"... I put 32GB of RAM in my system for a reason. Ideally the game (you just lost it) should have a console/PC check and make adjustments accordingly.

So many new game changing elements in FS25. Do you think we will see (Unless it was already mentioned and i missed it) manual attarchment in game. I will definitely be purchasing FS25. Great video 😊

There is also running your own production company in the game and that's not what most farmers do in real life but yet it's there so asking for the ability to dig isn't such a big thing.

I don't usually comment but this time I have something to say.I can't understand why giants didn't incorporate something like the fs22 terrafarm mod in fs25 its not perfect but you can dig and change the terrain with equipment . I always use it instead of landscaping tool.

I honestly have zero interest in this ground deformation feature. It seems like visual fluff, and adds nothing to the gameplay loop. I've got no interest in digging either. I'd really like to see weather being an actual factor in the gameplay, There's a lot I'd like to see come to the game (particulary with animal husbandry), but so far it's looking like FS22 is going to be retired to my Steam Deck, and I'll be waiting to see what modders can do for 25. Hoping for more, but so far not seeing it. Thanks for the update.
