One of the most magnificently beautiful and spiritually rich cultures on the planet. It weighs greatly on my heart to think of the immense trauma, abuse and injustice that the First Nation people have suffered for so long. Though now, to see such a strong revival of the music, drumming and dancing uniting many tribes lifts my heart high.
Beautiful... I have Ainu in my family, the "first nations" people of Japan, and there are so many similarities between the Ainu and tribes of the US, Canada, and Mexico... I think that's why I feel so much when I watch these videos.. They really do hit me so deep in my spirit... I cry, I feel things I can't even begin to explain. I just have so much love and respect for our first nations people, they are strong, and most of all, we need to hear their voices, they matter.
Always an exceptional tribal sound... Never tired for my ears..... At their high time it must be VERY IMPRESSIVE mainly before to go for the war👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🤗
Wonderful. Thank you for this very interesting and nice video. Your channel its fascinating. I like it. Beautiful (dance regalia). They cultural attire is gorgeous.Plumes amazing. I love Native music, dance, kulture, people. God bless everyone Indian. Best regards from Poland 👍😊💓🇵🇱
Cannot get enough of them, always admired the natives for the way they used to fit into nature and live with it and not destroy it, their wisdom and culture. Am no expert in the tribes but there is one dude at 3:52 with the number 290, dunno what tribe he is but the costume he has is amazing, all of them are but that one kinda speaks to me, maybe someone knows :D ny the looks of it and shaved head i think he must be from a more warriorish tribe? no clue.
dancers are scored by judges of each competition, each category and age groups within the categories... they take into account, starting on time, keeping in sync with the drum and stopping on time with the drum. Also, Regalia, body movement, head movement, agility, speed and endurance and in some cases, how much they participate in exhibition dances and not only competition. They also receive points for participation in Grand Entries, as in this video... and yes, there can be bias by the judges as some prefer traditional "old style" as to the new styles "contemporary"...
hello Pancho... each event is different in how things are done... it's not for us to say they are right or wrong... as we travel the powwow circuit... some do and some don't... keep safe... :-)
