FSX Majestic Q400 - FMS/FMC Basic Setup Tutorial

Hey Good video Few thhings mate. 1. At the very beginning you have to put where you are on the first screen ----, ina your case YPAD and accept, that tells UNS you start poin. That will safe you doing DTO when you put flight plan in., and will show you plan on MFD 2. W&B put your Basic Weight, Pax numbers, Cargo, and ZFW will be calculated automatically. Then put Ramp Fuel in, and that will give you actual Gross Weight. 3. Putting all fuel figures, altrn hold, extra, will give you total reserve 4. SID/STAR after chosing it you can click ->FPL 5R button, and that will out it in to flight plan. 5. VNAV you can do in few ways, of course you can change target altitude. 6. PERF page will also give you Gross Landing Weight to check what Vref to take. I use UNS in real life on Saab340 :) Take care

Super cool! Where'd you learn the Universal? I'm typed in the DHC-8, and learning the FMS was one of the more tricky things about learning how to fly the Mighty Q.

I'm having some trouble with this. I followed everything exactly and I don't get any altitudes on the right side of the fmc screen when looking at my flight plan. I also get a beeping noise when throttle is at full power and I'm on the runway taking off

Hello. Nice Video. I knew all of that before, because I use the Q400 since a long time and its a good one! But do you know how to enter GPS NAV coordinates? N69W137 does not work and I try a lot of other formats but none of them was working. Mayby you have an idea? Thx.

Mind explaining where you can find your ZFW and Fuel information from next time? Having a difficult time locating it in Sim brief.

what site do you use to find your flight plan?

You use take off fuel as total fuel, which isn't really accurate. You can also change the fuel setting from the Menu of the FMC from being tank by tank to global.

good video but you keep calling the screens with the wrong names. The screens go like this, starting from Captain PFD, MFD, ED , MFD, PFD, The 3 center ones are called EFIS. P.S Q400 mechanic
