I rebuilt the fuel distributor with this kit: www.missingpar...
Very complete kit, and they send you a very detailed 37 page pdf instruction.
I failed the rebuild as I accidentally mixed all springs and cups.
The distributor is OK to use now, thus not a complete disaster, but will need a rebalancing of the channels.

Cool video! I, too failed. I even had to take it apart and use a new diaphragm. I learned something in the process: leave the adjustment screws out when combining the two halves because that allows the diaphragm to sit flat with no pressure from the adjusters. Then set the screws last as another commenter mentioned and rebalance on the car. Everyone seems to want to put those screws back exactly the way they were, but that assumes it won’t need any rebalancing after the rebuild, and that you won’t mess up the diaphragm in the process.

I have many of this MBZ distributors, my plan was to rebuilt them to get more money.....this video convinced me to sell the on AS IS basis "for parts/not working" hahaha

still a great, clean job man ! Im sure you will sort it out, easiest way to rough calibrate, is to just turn all the bolts to max, then unscrew each by 3 turns, this technically sets em to the same position, but of course you got the age and material deviation to throw in some wrenches here and there :/ so hook it up to the car, put the fuel lines into bottles and start pumpin, gonna be a long night ))

At 17:59 you show the plunger being held in by a bent clip. Ive seen other videos set the plunger low position. How would the plunger's lowest position be set on this distributor?

The bent clip is only there to avoid the plunger to fall out. Once built-in, the plunger would rest on the lever arm of the air flow sensor, thus not on the clip. And the lever of the airflow sensor is kept in closed position by a pin in the air housing that can be tapped down to adjust.

My fuel pump goes noisy and the car jerks after 15mins driving. I suspect the fuel pressure valve is not working and the high pressure strains the pump. The valve (on left at 0:47) looks like its adjustable. I cant turn the allen key. Is it adjustable?

To adjust, you would have to remove the complete system pressure regulator (the valve you saw at 0:47) and add or remove shims to change the pressure. Also, first check if the return line to your tank is not clogged.

I'm wanting to set up a system to run rubber rejuvenation fluid through it. With all of the o-rings in it, a 30+ yo distributor likely has dry rubber. Did you find o-ring degradation?

Yes, all o-rings were hard as plastic, and the diaphragm had lost most of its elasticity
