hi there, my captiva has an engine managent light on and wont start at all. Im suspecting a fuel filter fault as it has been struggling with power recently. will a blocked fuel filter prevent the car from starting all together?

Is it only on diesel type of captiva fuel filter replacement or regular fuel type captiva also has these filters?
