Sydney Marathon CAN be hot & humid, but less chance of it being as extreme as Queensland weather. Takes 8-9 hrs to drive from Sydney up to the Queensland border for reference.

Glad they moved the start to 6am for this year. Most should be finished before it potentially gets hot.

@@jimoconnor8597 Yep. Hopefully they stay smart & not stretch out any wave start times too far apart. Get everyone moving & there shouldn't be a problem.

My main mistake is to not properly fuel for long runs. My stomach does not work well with me when I would go for a long run, so by 5-6k in I’m already panicking for a restroom.

I've found high sodium causes me terrible GI issues. I started introducing higher amounts over weeks of time, just like fueling with higher carbs. Had to train my gut. PS Humidity has no real bearing on your run, its the dew point. Humidity was high in Boston in 2023 but the temps, race results were overall faster and more BQs vs lower humidity in 2024 but high temps with far less BQs and slower race results. Great studies on the marathon majors showing temperatures are the major factor with dew point, wind, etc. play very small or have almost no impact on race results. From laughing about ketones wild claims to directly into tart cherry and how it is so great? 🤣🤣🤣 Maybe Beet Juice shots for the next pod? I get having sponsors for the pod but this really did make me laugh. Guess it was the timing.

Wait what? You debunked that caffeine doesn't dehydrate you. So, we are back to saying that caffeine dehydrates you? Also agree about the sodium when I was a kid it was just about as bad as smoking. I loved eating salt tablets when I was little. Playing tennis and running suffered from cramping and the only thing that helped was salt/potassium tablets.
