I had to look in the mirror after saying out loud, “Wow, everything is beautiful.” I am not up to wrenching at this level yet, so I have Blockhead & Chris doing the build with Power Vision, I pick it up Monday. I think your build will be absolutely amazing. On my next bike I will do this but I will do the transmission before the clutch. You couldn’t pay me to trust the stock drive train with head work. I’m doing a modified Stage 2 swapped out the lifters, tappet cuffs, cam bearing, chain tensioner, plate, and pump with S&S. It is good to know about the pushrods, they came with my Wood 22XE. I would have preferred to swap out my lifter springs, but decided I wouldn’t go above the cam chest on this build. I sneaked in SE plugs and wires to max out around the chamber without touching it. Trask Assault Charge Air Cleaner, External Breather, Check M8, 2-into-1 shorty, and window cam chest cover. I topped it off with 12” black 2” diameter bars and gold Luck Speed shorty trigger leavers. I wish you much success in your build…I will definitely share your mindset when I build my bagger. (SS/SW/MTS) USN, Ret. 2020 Fat Boy 🦅 of a 🪶 🪨2-gether
Sounds like an amazing build! Ive been following blockhead since around 1 or 2 hundred subs and I look forward to one day meeting him. Their shop looks amazing. Have fun with your new setup!
Clean your cylinders really good. Then clean them again. As for the lifters I don't like the cups in the alpha woods compared to S&S or fueling . Fm puts together a great package
Woods lifters in my experience seem to be superior as well as USA made. They also have direct oiling to the needle bearings. I’ve ran Feuling and S&S as well; while they’re all quality products I’ve noticed the woods seem to be quieter and take the load generated from the steep ramps on the cams. No, don’t get me wrong, I know fan boy for woods, I’m a fan of any superior product and so far they seem to be it. Just my opinion.
