I just cut a square hole on my speed 3 when my fuel pump failed…….just fabricated a sheet metal cover with short self tapping screws when I was done to cover it back up……..wasn’t about to drop my tank after I had just filled it all up…….
@@oscaryanez8680 na I didn’t remove any gas. I just cut very carefully and removed the pump and installed the new one. I put some sheetmetal over the hole I cut. Simple.
@@dannyb5863did you weld it in? That must be super unsafe to do, I’d just bolt it in! What a stupid design in my BMW I pull up the seat and I can replace the pump within 15 minutes!,
@@Icepressa na no welding. It’s to close to the fuel tank to weld. Just cutting and drill some holes for the sheet metal after you put it in the pump. Just drilling the holes carefully so you don’t puncture the fuel tank.
Friend, I see that the old pump you had has a tab that sits on top of the tank, that can be seen, and the new one that you put in is even with the rubber without protruding tabs. In other words, it doesn't sit on top of the tank.???
I had the same exact issue with mine. It could be so many different things. I recommend going through the entire air flow system, which includes checking MAF sensor, o2 sensors, airbox, and your throttle body. Also make sure your fuel system is working properly. Check fuel lines and fuel pump. Coils and spark plugs could be checked as well.
Stupidest design! Might be reliable but i still rather drive my BMW and pay $50 More for the part and actually be able to install it within 10 minutes not the whole day 😂😂😂
