Was there any reason the fpr couldn't have been installed in the engine bay before the fuel rail? Still assuming the factory one was removed also

Hi Sean, I really like your videos. I just wanted to know if you could make a video of how to put an VVT on a Miata. Also what parts are necessary to make your Miata VVT. Could you show us the procedure please? I will be glad that you make a video of it. Thanks and good luck with your project.

Always love watching your videos! I wonder if your problems were actually related to having the FPR located further from the fuel rail. I know this sounds kind of funny, but my parents have a well water system at their summer house. Initially the well's pressure regulator was located outside at the top of the well tube (regulating water pressure close to the pump). When it was located their, we noticed that the water pressure in the house tended to fluctuate and also run a little lower than expected. We eventually move the regulator to a point where the water line entered the house (closer to where we desired the pressure). This fixed out lower/fluctuating water pressure problems! :)

That’s interesting and I thought about. Actually, running the regulator at the tank is not ideal. For one thing, it’s inconvenient to adjust pressure from there when tuning. And another thing is the boost reference has to travel through 8 feet or so of hose, meaning it can delay the pressure change when going into boost, possibly 😉

@@Seandoestech haha ya I think you might be right about the boost delay as well. I suppose your engine bay is a little cleaner with the regulator back there :)

I need your help man! My 02 nb miata 1.8 vvt 5 speed so initially it starts up idles at 350-500 until at operating temp. Then idle will smooth out to 800-950 but any given throttle kills the car unless given very lightly and slowly...

I’d start with changing out the fuel filter.. Do you have any codes?

@@Seandoestech i really appreciate the reply Sean. Ive changed plugs wires coils fuel filter checked rail pressure its steady 60psi Car has Aem intake isr headerback exhaust No DTC codes Idle Ignition timing ranges between 8-11degrees 38.5 degrees while driving

How much power are you trying to make? I was under the impression that the stock pump was good for about 250 wheel 🤔

300+. Stock fuel system is probably ok to about 200whp.

@@Seandoestech Ive seen up to almost 300 on it, but it will wear out very fast. 250 could be manageable for a while but will most likely need a replacement eventually too.
