@@conormurphy3657 I always have to come to the rescue of Brett; but he will tell you, it happened during a show, years ago. An instrument hit him directly square on the nose and did major nasal damage, and the rest is history as he was never the same. Carl Bell left shortly after and Carl wrote every lyric and piece of music Fuel ever made and when your voice is gone and creativity are missing it’s time to retire.😅

HIS VOICE IS AMAZING!!! I love to hear him sing. He puts so much feeling and emotion...hell he puts his all in it and that's what makes him so AWESOME!! I miss old Fuel. Hope I get the chance to see Re-Fueled!!
Kevin Miller's playing fit very well with this band. It really added dimension and feel to their songs imo. Having said that, it's a shame Carl fired him. If I were Brett I'd try hiring him back as the drums haven't been the same without him behind the kit.
Man, Brett is something else!! He's such a sweet guy the both times I've met him. At Paramount in Huntington 2012 and at the Emporium in Patchogue in 2014. ❤️😍❤️ He actually gave my now hubby his "blessing" for us to get married. Hoping to meet him again too tell him, we did!! ❤️
Right.. I have played for 26 years and I have never hit my cymbals or heads that hard! He dosent worry about it, sponsored at that time.. Free $#!t! Hahaha, Zildjian, I was wrong, the first brand I thought it was was Sabian... WRONG HAHA.
I remember this 90s chicks, soo coool The drummer is one of my favs, he kills those drums!! He reminds me to Daniel Johns at 17 years old The drummer is a manbeast!!!
Carl Bell is such a brilliant songwriter and guitarist. 0 doubts that he made his own distinctive mark in rock music history. Brett's voice is awesome. Kevin and Jeff grooved well together too. When I saw them live at an outdoor Summer rock fest around the time this was recorded they floored me-I've seen probably 100 national acts live in concert and they are in my top 10 best live. Carl Bell killed that set-his tone was so good it was almost unreal. The crowd went ape sh*t when they played empty spaces and the gig was in a minor league baseball stadium and the whole crowd up front where the mosh pit was got soaked in beer because tons of people people decided it would be a cool idea to throw their beers in the air so it was like being under a beer sprinkler haha. Then Brett stopped the mosh pit in the middle of the song because some guy fell down and was starting to get trampled so he told everybody to chill or they would quit playing-I respect Brett for that. They continued and played a full set after that and people did listen to Brett and chilled out. It was pretty cool getting soaked in beer-I've been to alot of rock shows and never remember that ever happening before or after that. They sounded great and their outdoor rigs were extremely loud- it was a GREAT show. Carl Bell was and is my main motivation for liking Fuel (the rest of the band is great but I've got a hardcore guitar fetish, at gigs I get their early and can tell just by looking at the equipment on stage where the lead guitarist will be at and I try to get right up front so Incan watch the lead guitarist in every band I see because I play lead guitar too and like learning new moves when and wherever I can)- a highly underrated lead guitarist and songwriter of his era IMO.
@@jumpinjojo Carl Bell is the bald guy and the other guitarist in this footage playing the gold Les Paul. I read Carl fired him due to creative and personal differences.
Badass drummer The drums are so tight, and I love the solo. FUEL FOREVER!!!! I remember this 90s chicks, soo coool The drummer is one of my favs, he kills those drums!!
Cleveland Rocks and Fuel Rocked it !!!!!! Brett Scallions sings his heart out as hard as the drummer pounds the hell out of those drums..... Great sound, great band. Brett you fuckin kick ass!!!!
Brett Scallion and Jeff Abercrombie are back playing this Saturday night at House of Blues Anaheim...playing all your favorite Fuel Songs. Saw them last night at their final rehearsal and they rocked. Come and check them out if you're in the area.
@mjones19 Killed it....DAMN RIGHT!!! He sings the hell out of every song I've heard on their cd's as well as live concerts!! It was his voice that made me say "damn who the hell are these guys" when I first heard this song!! That's all it took and now I'm a hardcore Fuel fan!!
FUEL IS BACK TOGETHER! the original line up will be together performing a concert at the MMR BBQ in Philly, for those die hard fuelies this is awesome!
I remember trying out to be a singer in a band I think in 2006…..The drummer kept wanting to do this one…..and I showed them I could drum to and the drummer sang…..I did not get the gig ultimately but still a good memory with this band
talk about rock. Cant forget bands like Guns and roses during the 80s and staind during the 90s. Fuel was one of those bands that played rock and realy rocked the hell out. Thanks to Brett Scallions. Don't think that Fuel will be the same again.
Brett has been back since about 2010. The problem is the songwriting is shit now because Carl is no longer involved with Fuel. Carl did all of the songwriting up til 2009. Fuel's 2014 release sucks because Carl isn't doing the songwriting anymore.
him and jeff are, jeff called brett up and said they should go have some fun so now they are doing refueled, where they are singing all the fuel songs that they helped make famous.
yes there are videos with better quality, but even with that im saying no person should judge by what they hear on youtube or wherever, its so much better live, and I do believe they are taking all into account, never thought I would be able to see them but I have, the furthest I have had to drive is to illinois which is a 6 hr drive from where i live. when there album comes out, i guarantee they will be going everywhere, and when you get the chance, go to there concert, u wont regret it.
@ABFreeRider By the way 2010 is when he was just starting to finally get his voice back from being out of fuel for so long, when he started up refueled with jeff in 2009 he did have a certain roughness to his voice, but he slowely got it back, he doesnt sound like he used to, he is alot softer then you hear in this video, but really is that bad, he still sounds great. You cant judge a persons voice from what you hear on these videos, its called shitty quality.
Went to almost all of these "Live @ the Rock Hall shows". If you showed up with a nice looking girl,(me and my girlfriend/now wife) they would pick you out of the line and let you in first. "We need to make this look good for MTV and try not to offend anyone" they said. The "chunky" girls were full of energy; guess that makes up for it.
@ABFreeRider never got rid of him, he has a baby he spends his time with, not to mention other things he is doing right now, far as my knowledge goes he didnt want to do the fuel thing anymore, but him and carl both gave brett rights to the band
shitty quality makes it hard as hell to even understand what he is singing, so yes it does, there are alot of videos out there where you can hear him, but then alot of videos where all you hear is static and instruments cause either they were so close to the band you cant hear shit, or dont have a decent video camera. In either way no person should judge a band by what they hear online, go see them live and then say what u want. I got the chance to see them 4 times already, and they were amazing
Shitty quality doesn't change a person's sound. I've heard some pretty crap audio quality of Brett when he sounded really good, and I could get the fact that his performance was good. Shit quality mostly effects instrumentals, but you can still hear and comprehend the basics. Bottom line...quality doesn't change voice. Proof? The music video on youtube for shimmer is 240p, and that changed absolutely nothing about Brett's voice in the song.
@ethanhawkfan08 See, you say you hate him, but you have no reason for it. He has talent, definition and range...please try to beat him, then you can talk smack about him. This was pretty recent, I think it was in mid to late 2010. I was too young to see him at the time of the original line-up. But seriously dude...listen to the way Brett sang "Hemorrhage" back then, and now. Especially the chorus, it sounds like he's going through a new string of puberty. He almost whispers high notes now.
@ABFreeRider same goes to you man, if you think you can do a better job at it then brett i would certainly love to here it, until then. I also never once said I could sing, though it doesnt take much to have a better sound then toryn considering. By the way can you read, because where in my comments does it say I hate him, dont believe I said that because I dont even know him, it takes alot to hate a person and I would much rather not use up that energy on someone I dont even know.
Yeah but when I hear a video that is ridiculously bad, I find a related one that's understandable. There's almost always a better quality upload of something. Plus, it's too hard to see the band when they don't tour my area. I'm not traveling to another country just to see the band play, that's what these videos are for. They need to take into account their worldwide fanbase, not just the locals.
@ethanhawkfan08 What about Kevin? Carl? Seriously, the singer doesn't just make the band, and Brett seriously lost his voice, and this coming from a big fan of his. I think Fuel is messed now. Even Fuel with Toryn was better than the current Re-Fueled with members coming and leaving constantly.
@ABFreeRider Being a Big fan as you say, I dont get how you think fuel with toryn was better considering, because with him there were only two original band members, that would be jeff and carl, thats only one more than it is now and it sucked. how come I never heard there songs on the radio? you know the album they did with toryn, because it was never as good as it was with brett. Far as fuel goes now, there has only been 2 people come and go from that band, and it was the guitarists.
