Just bought a Q5 to do kitchen cabinets and If I can get a finish close to that I'll be very happy. Would have been nice to have seen them once dried too.
Thanks bro. The cheaper units may require you to thin the material more in order for automizing pressure of those guns to break it up better. Overspray may also be more as a result... but u can worry proper mixing of material get a good finish.
Looks great man. I'm trying out a hplv sprayer for my newly constructed kitchen cabinets. Planning on using the emerald enamel paint what kind of primer did you use.
Used a 1.8 tip. I think it was set at stage 5 yes...I was in a garage so the echo was apparent but you could still hear the gun over the turbine. Great machine!!
@@user-lx7pm1nu8u if you did not buy it already, go for fuji Q5 premium. It is the best turbine on the market. Dont worry about graco pro comp just because of compressor, you can always add your own comp if you need it and it will most likely be better than what comes in graco.
I thinned it about 10% with water alone just to make the droplets a bit smaller for that finer "wet" look. An airless would be quicker but I opted for the Q5 because of the size of the drawers and doors (they were on the small side) so the travel distance didn't require the psi of an airless.
@@joeleuzebe2205 I’m a cabinet maker and I’m going to start spraying my own work. Since I only do it on the side. I can’t decide between the Titan Ed 655 or something like the Fuji 5. Most jobs I do are in homes where the home owner is there. So, having less overspray would be great.
@@jdpiper2000 for less overspray an hplv system is the way to go, and it's safer for beginner painter. An airless is great for quantity but requires a lot more cover up and masking. But be mindful that a 5 stage hplv system will allow for less thinning of materials which means even less overspray. A pressure pot set up is fantastic for versatility.
I own a Fuji 3..... Trying to upgrade to the Q5 i like the system but also I'm considering the Apollo 5...... My question to you is, how long can you keep the turbine running before it get really hot, do you empty the pot or stop once in a while to let it cool, thanks in advance.
