New to the Fujimilm world, just got the XT30 for Christmas. Love it, but still learning. I just want to thank you for your video series. You've significantly sped up my learning curve. You present information in a very clear and helpful way, and you are an excellent teacher.
Hi Wai, thank you for all the tutorials, really appreciate it. please can you share the equipment you have used in the video (camera mount, attached screen and audio connector)?
Very Informative Video!😭 this really helped me made my Decision to finally move to a new Camera Ecosystem! 👏🏼 Thank you Wai, i was worried if X-T3 supported "Focus Peaking" or any Manual Focus assistances as to most fujifilm lenses don't support IS or it's horrible. But finally proud to say that i'm moving out of the Canon Ecosystem
Hi Wai! I can't seem to change my focus box - I have my focus level turned on, but no matter what I do, the focus box just stays right in the center and I can't get it to move. I was able to move it when I first bought the camera, but I'm afraid I've accidentally turned some setting on where I can't get it move anymore... any thoughts? Thanks so much!
Hello, I just recently got an xt30, and I cannot get it to shift focus whatsoever. It’s stuck on a focus faraway and I can’t adjust it to a closer subject. I got a 35 mm kit and the manual focus ring doesn’t work either. Help??
I've tried several times to use the AF-L button to get "Manual" focus as you've explained and that definitely does not work on my X T30. I actually WANT to manual focus. Any way of doing this? Thank you for doing these well explained videos -- greatly appreciated.
Hi, Diane - I think Wai Lam is showing that you put the camera in M at the M-S-C dial, and assign the AF-L button to behave like a half-depress of the shutter. Because the AF-L button "over-rules" the M setting, you get to temporarily get auto-focus, even though your dial is set to M! It's handy. Sometimes it is helpful to hear another explanation, so I'd go look for a pal2tech video that explains it. The relevant settings are on pp. 208-209 of the manual. If you use them right, you can separate the "give me auto-focus" function from the "take a picture" function. (You can also separate the "auto-meter my scene" function.) This can let you "back button focus," which you may already know about. Anyway - Good luck!
When you use the last method with af single and half press shutter button, is there any way to set the speed of changing focus to be slower - more cinematic? I am not sure if af speed under af customs setting affect focus change speed if using afs method?
thanks a lot Wai for the tips. I tried using manual focus today but I had issues trying to focus on close up objects despite trying to turn the focus ring. I wanted to try taking B--Rolls but focusing on the object is giving me problems. I dont press the shutter half way. might that be the reason?
If you are having issue with manual focus, you might want to try a large external monitor. When I do video, i also use a 7inch screen to help with focus.
I still cover Drones with Elvan on a Podcast but not on this channel. I will occasional do something drone related on my vlogs but that is about it for this channel
I have been using the FEELWORLD T7. It's a good budget opinion. If you want a high end option, then I would look at the SmallHD monitors but they are expensive.
