EXACTLY! That showing of the max ISO at all times on Auto-ISO when you 1/2 press the shutter is driving me batsh-t crazy! Yes, someone is up in the tower somewhere in Tokyo laughing at this one. You are right: Of COURSE we know the max value... what's important is what the camera thinks as we are composing the shot for heaven's sakes!

A bit of follow up on my comment earlier. As I was comparing my xt10 and xt20 last night, that perhaps I can make the ISO work on the front dial, well, it is possible on the xt10 but not on the xt20. Why not on the xt20?

@@benjicarrera4103 Odd, I'm not sure. I don't have the camera to test, but Fuji does odd things sometimes between models.

Mine too! Doesnt have that iso setting there at all... and even when i go into the command dial straight away and select it it just doesnt work no matter what i do... guess ill have to read the manual again and do some more searches🤞🏻🤞🏻

Or you can do the same and control the shutter speed and exposure with the front dial by just clicking in the front dial to switch back and forth. Better options.

You can set the rear dial press to any available function. The front can only be set to switch between shutter, aperture, iso and exposure compensation. Holding in the front will take you into the command dial settings.

All of the Fuji's released in the last couple of years have this.

Two choices: switch to a Kelvin temperature and dial in what you want, or, shoot raw and adjust it later.

Hi, I don’t know if you’ve figured it out since then, but the XT-4 does not have an ISO Dial Setting in the wrench menu, because the Front Command Dial on the XT-4 is already configured to adjust ISO by default. Make sure to have your ISO Dial set to “C”, or Control (located beneath “A”, or Auto) and the Front Command Dial should now be adjusting your ISO. Hope this helps!

Hey George, I'm sorry pal but I'm not entirely sure as I've never used the X100V and don't own that model unfortunately. Maybe check on fuji-x-forum or something as I'm sure somebody has posted an answer that. I'd imagine it's possible, I just don't know how.

I know this is an 11 month old post, but I'm pretty new to photography and just got the X-T4 and am leaning towards using it this way. Glad to see others already had this idea. I think I'm just too slow with using the dials so far.

This is one of my biggest gripes, that you cannot assign *any* command to the fn keys. I was so excited to do this on the X-T4 and then I discovered the choices are quite limited (unclear why). I mean I get that some options are not available in certain situations, but they could just make those grayed-out and not selectable when you try to assign them. But not having most of the options assignable and having to navigate a deep menu for the important stuff is super annoying when you know the potential is there. For example, the custom EVF display option is a big one for me, because the EVF is OLED, I'd like to prevent burn-in and not have certain elements overlap the image inside the EVF, unless I really need them. The issue is that when I really need them, I need to navigate a 3 branch deep menu to toggle said elements on or off. Speaking of potential, the other thing I didn't like is that the "custom settings" only encompass image quality (IQ) settings and that's about it. I thought it would let you save a plain-text version of *all* settings inside the camera's flash memory so that you can flick a button and turn all settings from one scenario to another which would have been incredibly powerful, but no. I won't even get into the focal length reading not being visible on the EVF or LCD despite it being saved in the EXIF which means the information is available, but Fuji just decided not to include it. I'll get into the Fuji mindset and show myself out :D

If you set "aperture setting" to "A +M", you'll be able to switch from manual aperture control to auto by going past the highest aperture on that particular lens on the command dial. You'll get a "P" symbol on the left of the exposure settings on the LCD/EVF.

@@M_freedomOfSpeech I don't know if it'll solve your particular issue, but boost mode prevents the camera from going into energy saving mode in which causes the display to lag after 15 seconds of inactivity. It also improves continuous autofocus and high speed burst.

As far as I know that's not the case. In full auto your exposure is likely going to be underexposed (I almost always compensate by +2/3 to +1 2/3 stops), but it should still represent the output as close as any other time. Btw, having the dials set to "A" doesn't lock you into auto. Unless I'm on a tripod, I almost always shoot in aperture priority with all dials on "A" (EC on "C"), using the command dials to make my changes.

I use Capture One, so I don't know the details, but the word on the street is that LR added a "details" slider that solves the issues with sharpening. Although, I've been told Capture One still does it better.

Look at my other comment in this section. On why you would want this. It will allow you to have 3 different ISO modes you can create for different reasons.( you have to scroll all the way to the right until you see ISO A1,A2,A3. I have each one made for something for example, outdoor, indoor, low light.

Looks like you are using both mechanical and electric shutter, you should change it to mechanical shutter only to use the iso 100

Mike Lambert If you press the front dial it removes the ability to change the ISO so moving the dial won’t change your selection. If you want to change it again press the front dial in again once and then moving the dial will change the ISO.

Do you have the ISO dial set to an ISO value or to "A"? If set to a value the command dial will allow you adjust the ISO by a couple stops. While in "A" you have complete control of the ISO if setup as shown in the video.

Agree, the Q button is in a much more natural location. It's always a tad awkward using both the AE-L & AF-L buttons. I'm currently trying AF lock on the front function button (Fn2), using my middle finger. Not sure if I like it or not yet.

What do you use your aperture ring on your lens for then? Unless you are using a 3rd party lens.

@@root9065 XC lenses don't have an aperture ring, the only adjustment is through the command dial. I switch back & forth from the ring & dial on the XF lenses depending on the situation.

root9065 it is faster to change aperture with the front command dial . and really easy to use the iso dial for its intended purpose
