Glad to see the super ccd. Ive been using since 2005 with the F10. I have an F10,F30,f40fd,F47fd &50fd. The best ones in my opinion are all except the F50fd. The sleepers of the bunch are the 40 & 47. Those 2 are twice as sensative. So you can use 1 stop lower on ISO. These cameras are quite good even today.UPDATE i found out the later f50fd after serial#7DA1xxxxx were fixed. All the issues, bad telephoto flash exposure and close focus and ISO works like the f40 &47fd now !
I second the f47fd - colour rendition is great. Same sensor in the s9600. Where they fall down is ISO performance, but it's a small price to pay and ISO management is much better than it used to be.
@@tomperry9034 100% agree. Strange thing for me. When i have printed pictures. The F10 and F50fd have the best color and contrast and detail. The F30 was almost perfect but it does not retain the detail of the F10 and it blows out skies unlike the F10 which makes no sense because it has the same lens. Im gonna try the F31 to see if they fixed those issues
I have a finepix e550, same era. It was my brother in laws, but he sadly died in a motorcyle accident 9 years ago. The e550 sat in box until earlier this year when my sister gave it to me and said 'its not working'. It was turning on, and then immediately shutting down......a little research revealed it as a common problem with this era of Fuji when using 3rd party AA batteries. Simple fix and now the camera is back in action. I've been experimenting with it in monocrome, and so far been quite impressed with its image quality, for such an early digital. Still, I tend to take on trips with other (more modern full frame) cameras and then never use it! Sad! I need to use it more. It has sentimental value, but only if I use it!
@@frankartale1026 The 'solve' I discovered was to use a set of high capacity rechragables, and using the in camera 'discharge' function, dump the charge, then recharge the batteries. The camera then seems to 'recognise' the batteries better, and hold the charge for a lot, lot longer....still not in the same league as more modern stuff, but at least it's acceptable and usable.
Realy nice images from this camera. Looks like a better version from the E500. The over expose problem have all those cameras :-). In all my cameras I have to set EV in -1/3 to -1. Have a nice time :-).
It does shoot nice images but it still overexposes sometimes even with - EV. I've noticed that it brings up the exposure during focusing so my guess I may be hitting the shutter too quickly before it corrects itself.
