Hello to all the Duplicants! Using the game mechanics to your bidding is not enough?
You want to automate that so you don't even have to do it yourself? Well i got something for you:
Here are a couple of my fully automatic Seed Replication Devices
You will also find an industrial scale manual type of Setup that is amazing.
Credit to 'Nols' for that last design (channel: / @nols7985 )

The Priorities for the storages in this last design are:
from left to right: 3 (Automatic Dispenser), 2 (Storage Bin), 1 (Conveyor loader) !
Seeds / Plants that don't work at the moment for the fully auto setup versions:
Sleet Wheet because it can't be stored in a storage bin
Water Weed because out method of destroying the plant to drop the seed doesn't work on sleet wheet.
Saturn Critter Trap because it eats your pips and ecause out method of destroying the plant to drop the seed doesn't work on it.

Hi Guys! Here is the fully auto version for small scale seed replication (by Luma). As well as an industrial scale manual design (by Nols). There is a *download link* for the test world in the description. (DLC might be needed i don't know) For this video it is probably helpful to have seen the first replication video since i don't show every seed rising in mass / numbers, because you already know now that this works and always adds 995g of a seed (depending on your material mass inside of the storage bin that splits the seed). The *Priorities* for the storages in this *last design* are: from left to right: 3 (Automatic Dispenser), 2 (Storage Bin), 1 (Conveyor loader) !

Awesome! Now I can finally get back those last 3 exuberant seeds that my dupes decided to cook without waiting hundreds of cycles! And that last two sporechids I need. Might be an exploit but one I'm very much willing to use!

Good to hear. I think it is an ok exploit. Since it is quite complicated and I think there should be no real reason why the game won't just let you farm those seeds.

I don't think the last setup works with flower pots since the whole point is that the farm tile can be accessed from both sides so one pair of sweepers plants while the other sorts. With boxes they can only be accessed by a single side unless you maybe checkerboard the floor? Which would probably involve alot more sweepers, liquid, and power.

Hi gotriceandshrimp; The exact same configuration with flowerpots is hard to achieve but we already have designs for that on the discord. They involve more water (or stacked liquids) and a re-configuration of the placements though. But the principle stays the same. Mostly just different sweeper placements not necessarily more power or sweepers if I remember correctly. But with the liquid you are spot on you will need a little more (or stack different liquids).

I have modify manual industrial ver to support group & hanging plant in one. And combine Full Auto pip for copy setting decorate plant to farm plot > Industrial seed replication ver.

What about using ration boxes or fridges for the sleet wheat grains to be automated? i know a sleet wheat can generate more seeds on its own but the mutated one could work with this.

Hi Michael Lopez. I thought about that, but couldn't be bothered to try. because I would first need to find a reliable method to create small amounts (less than 1kg of other foods so that the newly added sleet wheat could get split. I guess there are methods but I didn't want to delay the video another week until I tested everything. But maybe someone comes up with a method for that in the future. I also didn't test for Muckroot. If that can be replanted and split maybe there is even an infinite food glitch :)

It's takes me 3h to figure it out! Finely after 2 try in a 6 months :) Table salt was randomly stolen by dupes for mess table use :D Instead of salt, I use uranium ore and use a conveyor meter to measure 10 grams. Next part was why smaller part of the seed was collected by a bin than was ment for duplicated seed (I switched sides when conveyer loader was active to solve it). Ah and my Pips was randomly killed by doors also from time to time.

xD sorry for your inconveniences. This game.. I personally like to use the industrial version the most. Once set up if an error occurs it almost always is the settings. so it can be fixed with checking those again.

Hold on nosh is food so it can be potentially infinite food? Also wild wheezeworts sound really op for cooling applications and oxyfern for me it's a nice plant even domestic but limited seeds is a deal breaker

I've not tried this yet but you may be able to use radiation to kill the plant. You should just be able to get a large radiation source nearby and that should work for all plants.

Hey Joel. I tried that with the Dev Radiation generator wit around 1200 Rad/cycle. Sadly does not work for all plants or fast enough. But thanks for the Idea. Otherwise i would test it.

This doesn't work on thimble reed either, because it can't drown just like waterweed.

So in general, get in some material less than 1 kilo in a storage bin, than put in one kilo seeds with it, while the bin is topped to 1 kilo, to make the seeds split, plant the smaller than 1 kilo seeds, drown the seed, and both parts will be one full seed each?

Basically. Just you don't drown the seed. You make the environment so unpleasant for the plant that it gets destroyed and re-drops as a seed. For most plants this requires either one of their growth requirement beeing totally extremely wrong. Or better 2 beeing incorrect (like heat and atmosphere). Also only the (smaller than 1) part you plant becomes a full seed again. But yes in theory very simple. in game can be very annoying when the autosweeper don't want to play along or the dupes pick up the wrong stuff :D

6:20 the industiral version is my go to. I do change the bottom part up a bit in every build but the top part stays the same.

Interesting video, i just had trouble to understand few things. In the last part you say every seeds that can and cannot, but there is no image for everything and i didint understood woth your accent some of the seeds without image xD

I couldn't get all the images for the Plants as png. Just try them out and see what works or what doesn't. most plants work. So far (as I know) only 3 don't work. Check the Description I think I listed them there

Couldn't you have 500g stored in each container, that way you never have to worry about which is the "smaller part"? You're duplicating the new seed in any case, so it becomes moot as to how much is stored, right?

Probably, but it is a good training for later for the more advanced setups. You can split a seed multiple times. so if you set it to half you will only ever get 1 until you plant it. if you have 0.05 or so you can get more split seed parts out of a single seed that way. The indusctrial version from Nols uses that technique. (It is either at the end of this video or at the end of my seed Duplication video.)

It think you just removed the question? Still here for the others :D. Industrial manual version: The Priority of conveyor loader is the lowest (1) then the Storage bin needs to be (2) and the highest priority of (3) for the Automatic Dispenser. The Automatic dispenser needs to be set to 1kg. The Storage bin has 5g of material in it so that the bigger part of the seed lands in there. Then because of the timing the autosweeper to the right picks up the remaining small seed part and sends it of via the conveyor loader. Depending on the state of your system: the top most autosweeper now picks up the bigger part of the seed and places it in the automatic dispenser. it now has 995g. because that is not 1kg the left autosweeper fills it up whith 5g of seed. the whole seed is dropped and split again. Repeat

is there any way to get saturn critter trap seeds? ive been trying for ages with farmers touch and grubgrub rub to speed it up but they still take ages

@@Luma_plays thanks for the link, but i got the design working with a door pump and water to drown the critter trap but it doesnt seem to die after a long time is this my wrongdoing?

@@TrillionDeTurtle Probably not. I think that was the Problem with those plants. You can try and make it unpleasent for them with heat or cold and see if that works. sometimes it needs a combination of 2 negative factors for the plant to drop. But I know there was a reason why i had issues with this plant. Sadly that's a long while ago.

So the whole trick behind this is two sweepers try to pickup ONE seed simultaneously and that duplicates the seed? What do you mean "bigger part" of a seed and "Smaller part" of a seed?

Yes and no. In this build yes because it does pick both seed parts up at the same time. No because it can be done with just one Sweeper at a time and the seed is not replicated at that point in time. it needs to be planted down to become a whole seed again. Check out my second video to that topic. With seed halves I mean the following: If an autosweeper (or dupe) tries to store a seed of 1kg size in a storage bin set to 1kg, but there is already a small amount of for example salt in the storage bin: then the autosweeper will split the seed. It will split it into 2 parts. 1 part the size of the remaining space in the storage bin and 1 part with the remaining size. Do you get a bigger seed part and a smaller seed part. I.e. if you have 5g in the bin it will be most of the time 995g and 5g parts respectively.

@@Luma_plays hey luma! Couldn't this be used to, say, fill 10 containers with 900g salt, and then have 1 seed be split in 10x 100g parts? Would that give you 10x seeds?

@@kutairaisu4603 Possible but how you gonna set up the automation for the Container? Doors underneath or between etc. Tried something like that. wasn't faster. It is easier to split the same seed multiple times (see at the end of this video or the other duplication video: Nols industrial version)

@@Luma_plays I know and with care packages it takes ages to get enough seeds( ofcourse you can scale easily with standard seeds) or waiting on the seed you need. Even more so with new special seeds, takes efffort but rewards are still a bit lacking imo. I would like to see drop change for new special seeds, even if it is factor 100 or even 1000 less as normal seeds. But i haven been playing much of late, real life keeps me busy. So i dont know if they have changed this, since last i was able to play some? havent read what last updates have changed ingame. I Have been playing since it came out on steam for early acces. When i play normally i dont scale up, just build for the amount of dupes i set from the start. I am lucky, i also have a pc/workstation that easily can handle everything the games throws at you. Then again the challenge makes this game worthwhile, if it was to easy i would loose intrest in it.

@@stephanw7770 I am glad the Devs keep it updated frequently. A little bit new stuff here and there. More challenge with the food storage and so on. If you only have a little bit of time to play try the steel challenge (Idea by Echo Ridge Gaming), that was fun for me. You choose a planet and try to get to a single piece of steel as fast as possible.

@@Luma_plays yes i have done that. But getting steel aint that hard. I have over 1000+ hours ingame bought it in feb 2019. So in the early days. When you had things like a job board. And more. Corrected some typos
