Seed Duplication - Infinite Decor Plants

Hello Everyone. Did you ever wanted to farm buddy buds, sporechids, bluff briars and that cactus plant?
Well sadly that is not possible you can only dig them up - or can you?
Here is another solution: Duplicate / Replicate the Seeds.
With this contraption and methology it should work.

This is based on a bug/intended game mechanic found by Hexicube 2018:

If you want the contraption to be more efficient you can also use table salt as a material.
The Rock crusher let's you convert 100kg of salt into 5g of table salt and sand.
Use the 5g of table salt in the storage bins to the left and to the right of the plant and you will get a big seedpart with 0.95 and a small seed part wit 0.05.

Thank you for clearly explaining an obscure mechanic that I will be 100% sure to not ever use again by accident! I just couldn't understand how I ended up with usable fractions of seeds!

Ever since they made pacu eat seeds (which i prefer to algae) those weird seed numbers where all over the place :D.

When smashing one order of salt at a rock crusher, you get 5g of table salt which you can sweep into your storage bin to skip the pacu method while also slightly increasing efficiency. You can find table salt in the storage bin menu under Miscellaneous.

Very good Idea! Thanks. I did not think of salt. There is a limit to the splitting size though. Have to test if that works as intended by the duplication device. Thanks again. Edit: works like a charm and is easier to archieve! I put that in the description!

Brilliant! Looks like the main thing here is that a bin allows to store a fraction of a seed when that bin has less than 1KG of space available. A new seed gets rounded-up to 1KG.

I also used them the first time in the let's play in that amount. they really are amazing at countering negative wire decor.

now do it with wheeze worts and automate it with pips and a door pump with water instead of heat lol

Hi someotherzachguy. Wheezeworts can work similar. Haven't tested it yet. Just try a farm tile instead of a flowerpot. Pips is a good idea! I also tested with water. The water took forever to destroy the plant in my testing. But maybe i was just impatient at that time.

Actually if the pip can plant underwater you can fully automate this thing, put enough Walter to drop the plant in the box a natural tile where the pip plant the seed and a conveyor loader where you load the part seed and leave it in the chamber where the pip will plant it, wait until the pip plant it and then is should drop cuz of water then is the same the auto sweeper take it to the sides, make sure the auto sweeper that pick up the fraction seed in the chamber is not in range with the loader otherwise it will pick the seed before it’s planted and you are done

i just like the thought of having it fully automated. even if you only get a new seed once a cycle or even every couple cycles, it could be scaled up and forgotten about for awhile. wheezeworts are a limited resource and a lot of people use them for steady rad generation

@@someotherzachguy yeah they are limited but if you want grow large amounts of mutated seed are essential, also this way you can duplicate mutated seed, it would be really useful

It kinda makes sense this duplication, plants regrow parts of their bodies when planted, so the seed becoming a whole again could be correct. A little question could you make a design for saturn critter traps seeds and whezeworts as they are not renewable? Great video.

Hi fanny jaramillo. hmm theoretically should work the same way. but replace the flower pot with a farm tile and make the thing a little wider for the saturn critter trap. good idea. Not sure if a new video is needed though

Since we're on the topic of duplication, could you do a tutorial on magma duplication? There have been some designs floating around on the forums and on Reddit about the how's and why's, but it's too much for my peanut brain to handle 😂

Was that the design that also could replicate super-coolant or the other one that greezyhammer already presented? The first one also is interesting for me because it maybe can work with the glitch pump not sure.

@@Luma_plays the design I found on Reddit could duplicate every liquid bar water (technically also not polluted water because it offgasses) it had something to do with splitting magma in their example in such a way that it could create 125 KG/S or something like that

I was looking for your seed splitter video, but I can't find it. I thought it was yours, maybe it wasn't. I am kind of curious if it could be used to feed fractional seeds to a Fish Feeder. If so, then the minimum Pacu taming time from seeds could be reduced from a minimum of 31 cycles down to the 8 cycles Algae takes using 480 kg Algae (no limiting used). My sense of curiosity here is failing to overcome my sense of practicality, however. It's a large infrastructure that would only be needed to tame the first Pacu and save either a few cycles or a few kilos of algae and maybe grams of seeds.

To avoid dealing with pacus you can use shinebug egg shell (It's only 100g)

if you would set one box for lower prio, it won’t get smaller part reliably ? Like 4/5/6 ?

Hey Radoslaw, the numbers don't matter as long as the ratios are the same. So if you reduce 1 priority from one of them. do it for all so that the order stays the same. I only saw the preview with the word "blueprint". The pokeshell ranch was actually added by @Brew Stew search for luma plays and pokeshell. Other builds have not been added. I spend so much time making videos and working that i just don't find the space to also make them. Can this be automated somehow with the mod? ( i am not knowledgable when it comes to that mod (yet)).

@@Luma_plays they'll die in that temperature, unless the room is liquid locked (petroleum, is temp < 500°C enough to kill the plant? ) on one direction, with a vacuum in between then a livable temp for the pips, then sure, it will be automated

As far as i am aware they didN#t change it in the last update. My industrial seed duplicator still works (see end of the seed replicator video -the other video)
