So I'm listening in the background because my guitar student walked in and I hear the lick at 8:57 and about fell out of my chair. I kept replaying it and entered into a lecture about feel, phrasing, and peak musical moments. Then, I noticed your reaction Alex and see that it was a peak moment for you too. Thank you for that.

i'm obviously late to the party but watching this now, i'm really surprised how good alex is at the blues. i'd even go so far as to say he's a better blues played than many of the guys who are exclusively blues players, he really has some brilliant lines here
I agree - a lot of the famous blues players play the same, tired triplet pattern over and over again, or they bend and hold one note, and make a guitar face as if they’re blazing all over the fretboard, and go back to the same boring triplet stuff.
awesome playing, as always. all talented musicians. Alex is one of my favorite guitar players. That bass line was sexy as well. Keep those comming guys.
Thing is....Alex's best blues is when he's restrained and not ripping all over the fret board. Alex playing slow and expressive and letting the sax guy breathe is simply the best.....
Please come to Cardiff!...though if I saw you live I would be that annoying guitarist/fan who would hound you after and give you praise as often as possible! Your playing is effortless, quirky and lush!
I think my problem to not play like Alex, is that I mostly stand still with no contortion on my body whatsoever...got to try that out and see if I play a little better. Or I can just throw my guitar on the garbage for good. Maestro Alex!!!
