Talk about close calls, almost clocked a zombie yesterday who decided to cross the street between a bus n suv. Happened right by Qns Blvd n Roosevelt.

The Zombies whether they're behind the wheel or on foot are getting worse and worse. I can see that happening especially on Roosevelt and Queens Blvd because everyone is on autopilot and crossing the street on their phones. That reminds me that I really need to get a loud ass bell for my bike and scooter. The horn makes them move in an unpredictable way so I think it's more dangerous for us. I could also just ride around with a whistle like we used to when I used to fly around the city on my Fixie lol.

It allows me to really focus on the ride and allows me travel at a faster pace while remaining safe. I plan to release a Full Commute video at least once a month because I have to rotate through the other types of content as well. I hope that I'll be able to release multiple videos per week eventually so that we can cycle through the different series faster!

These are Blur Boundaries now but I was using the Kemimoto Round Mirrors before (amazon link is in the video's description). To be honest, I think they're very similar. If those two don't work, I believe Loomenade started selling them now too. Good luck on the search for the mirrors, let me know if you end up finding a good pair. I'm always looking for new mods here and there lol.

Hi Danny, it's a concern that's always in the back of our minds here in NYC. I've ridden on fixie, a road bike, scooter, skateboard, EUC, and now ebikes on the roads of NYC for almost 20 years. I've gotten doored, nudged by cabs, and had direct crashes due to vehicles/riders cutting me off. That's the biggest reason why I ride quite conservatively now. My last accident was last year and it was on my inmotion v11. I was in the bike lane and got doored by a passenger getting out of a cab and it resulted in a broken hand!

I usually will cut across 50th street and make my way down second ave, but the "sights" aren't as iconic as fifth lol. Back to back illness knocked me out for a while so I'm finally getting back to work and finally catching up with RU-vid. If I took the subway and everything was actually working, it would take me about 45-60 minutes to get home and it would cost $2.90 per way. If I took an Uber, assuming there was minimal traffic during this time, it would take me about 30-45 minutes and it would cost about $40-60 each way. So taking the longer scenic route you're seeing in this video takes about the same amount of time. If I'm not recording or if I'm doing a "short route video" it's actually only 16-20 minutes door to door on an ebike/ escooter/ eskateboard lol. I don't take that route as often anymore since most of my early videos were on that route and folks want to see more of the city! I hope thi

IDK how you get so lucky not running into the many a-holes that ride against the arrows in the lanes and against car traffic. Never see them in your vids.... Constant battle for me riding exactly the same streets and avenues. Mostly hostile delivery guys, and some dummy civilians. More of them wrong way at dinner time than law abiding right way. Never actually get the interest of the po-po's, hazardous as they are. Yes, in NYC you must ride with flow, can't survive being tense or scared. Always have a mental plan for the instant a bogey pops out, because they will and they do. (Am using similar tools, 72v hyper scoot, 60v back up scoot, Grizzly bike that I do still like, primarily for rainy days.). Thanks for the imagery.

It seems that I only get lucky when I'm recording lol. 95% of the time when I'm just commuting, I'm yelling and cursing at everything because of all the typical nonsense that comes with commuting in NYC. Despite all that though, I prefer getting around this way vs. taking the poop show that is the MTA lol. You're absolutely right. It's like "ultra instinct" defensive riding that we have to do because everything is trying to kill you in this city. Great line up you got there! It's nice to be able to change up the feel of the ride depending on the day.
