I just watched how to unlock undervolt in bios locked for g15 , i have g17 and it worked. After 2 years of suffering with this thing. THANK YOU so much and im gonna be a supporter for you!
Awesome my bro! Trust me I feel your pain followed by your relief. It's incredible how much difference temps can make to performance What CPU do you have?
Great video, but some info for you: When you see a number like this: 0x10e, it's NOT pronounced "zero times one zero e", the X is not multiplication eg: "times" -- it's an indication that the proceeding number is in hexadecimal (base 16)not decimal (base 10). If you really want to pronounce them, it's: "zero x, one zero e", but you can just simple say "one zero e"; the 0x prefix is very important when dealing with low value hex values (eg: 9 and lower) where it's ambiguous if it's in hex or decimal, but if the value contains any letters (eg: A-F) then it's assumed to be hexadecimal. Hope this helps!
Great tutorial! I rarely comment on the videos, but this one saved my laptop. I was able to unlock the undervolting on my i5-10300h and now my temperatures never reach 90C. Thanks a lot!

Sorry for my English, i want to thank you for your effort and easy guides. I reached to modify the turbo ratios of my 12th gen 12700 h to lower temperatures a bit. I just want to know if after doing that I can revert in BIOS to activate the Virtualization and secure boot or it will interfere with the new setup. Thanks a lot !!!
In bios you can reenable secure boot, that was just used to boot into grub As for virtualization, that blocks undervolting, but the 12700h can only adjust turbo ratio limits, so you can reenable virtualization If you experience it blocking turbo ratio limits just switch it back off again
7:02 when i go into core isolation settings it says "The page you are trying to access has no supported features and its not available", how can I solve it ?
Thank you for your efforts for providing us this guide. Interesting that after the bios tweaks my 13980hx had undervolting enabled in the OS. But it still didn't respond to changes and, instead, it got limited to 55w of power only. Any thoughts on this?
could be an side effect of undervolt protection, or alternatively that you havent disabled virtualization in the bios just make sure that virtualization is disabled see if that makes a difference
Thanks man Every CPU is a little different and needs it's own testing and benchmarking That being said 11th gen typically undervolted less than 10th gen If try between -70 to 90mv on core -60 to 80mv on cache Then turbo ratio limits probably 39, 38 or 37 over all cores
@@laptoptweakingtips Edit: I've figured it out, but have another qeustion - after doing all the undervolting, should I turn on memory integration back on?

1. If you play a game that belongs to Microsoft, but you run them, for example, on steam, then deleting XBOX applications will lead to the fact that you may have huge problems with them. For example, Gears5 will shamelessly lag and crash without apps and services related to XBOX and MSstore. I highly recommend uninstalling the Xbox altogether. From his removal of hemorrhoids more than if he remains. 2. You also need to be very careful about services and configure checking for USB. For example, if you are using a radio headset or gaming radio mice, then any non-standard USB settings will simply create huge problems for you. 3. In general, everything else in the video is very useful, but remember that you will always have time to delete something. Do not rush to remove things whose purpose you simply do not know. For example, once I deleted some library of Windows languages and services for them. And the next time I started, instead of letters, I had just squares. Windows simply did not know any 1 language, and it was no longer possible to put it back. Just reinstalling windows. Thanks a lot to the author of the video for such a voluminous work. And a special thank you for your support on Discord. Helped a lot.
yeah thats why i point out that when i delete something, to check if you use it... services, ive checked and double checked, i didnt just make a list out of my head lol!

Great guide. But I noticed that if you then reset the UEFI BIOS settings, undervolting will not be available as before, you will need to do the procedure again
You can switch secure boot back on, but you must leave virtualization off. Since 11 22h2 virtualization blocks undervolting If there is a bios update and the settings revert, then yes you will have to repeat the process Thanks bro for the kind words.

Hello Mate amazing vid very informative i got a Dell G15 with i7 11800H. So to be clear the best option for me in throttlestop in only to modify cpu core and cache offset around - 65? Adjusting pl1 and pl2 will make no sense or useless is that correct?
Core max between -70mv to -85mv Cache max -65mv Then adjust turbo ratio limits to 36 over all cores You should see a nice temp reduction from that. If not you can try 35 over all cores I wouldn't mess around with power limits beyond that as you can lose performance. Power limits don't reset as well. TPL section is a past resort in my opinion Thanks by the way bro Glad you got unlocked 💪😎
I also tried the pl1 stuff but i got bsod or hangs.. So yeah definitely i got around 95.7 on cpu core and 60 on cache. Are we also allowed to underclock gpu? I got a. 3060 on this badboy but i am not sure thw volts are in gray....
Bro the 11800h is very sensitive to undervolting I wouldn't recommend -95 on core Max -85 I'd say Further than that you're gonna get bsod Yeah on my homepage there is a video under performance optimizations going over GPU undervolting with MSI Afterburner
Update it am now at my cpu around - 85 core and - 60 cache om throttlestop.. Underclocked my gpu at 1550 core clock and that it my cpu temps are at 71c and 79c on gpu. With G mode one it brings down to around 60c both cpu and gpu temps and still giving me beyond 75fps on FF7 REMAKE 🤣 ON 1080P. so im happy for my end this will bring my laptop have more years to come as i bought this only 2nd hand and around 3 years from the original owner. Btw also replaced thermal paste with noctua nt h2😁

12th and 13th gen typically can't unlock undervolting itself, however considering it's a hx processor it should technically be unlocked. So it could be unlocked via this process. Provided your laptop doesn't have undervolt protection If it does then only turbo ratio limits will be unlocked. Which is still a great way to reduce temps
One more que bro😅😅 can i turn on secure boot and virtual technology after undervolting will this set the parameters to default?? ((I didn't mean to interrupt bro it was already posted if ya read this))
I followed your instructions. In ThrottleStop, I changed CPU Core and CPU Cache to for example, -140 mv and -99.0 mv. However, in the top right corner window of 'FIVR', the 'Offset' column are still +0.0000. Any idea? BTW, at the very beginning, ThrottleStop has been ''Turn On". It is i9-13980HX with ASUS Vivobook.
Disable virtualization in the bios bro. You're on windows 11, since 22h2 that blocks undervolting You need to click turn on so it says turn off and then save throttlestop

A lot of what you're showing people is VERY risky, especially disabling 'BD PROCHOT', 'C1E' and 'speed shift EPP'. I mean, the first 2 literally keep your PC from overheating and have no ill impact on performance. The last 1 controls performance, 0 being the highest performance setting. Can you explain your reasoning, please? I'm not trying to belittle you or treat you like you don't know what you're doing. I'm simply curious!
Hey bro, i got a core i7 1050U, and on max clock it goes upto 2.8 Ghz on FID during TSBench. Should i set its turbo limits to 28 or 27. The idle clock speed is set by speed shift eep and is 4.3 Ghz. Would my laptop be ble to run 4.3 Ghz everytime? Rest of the steps were followed and my laptop got way faster. My laptop is HP cfx 2000 i guess. The names are quite confusing sometimes.
what are your temps under load so you say your FID goes down to 28? set turbo ratio limits to first 28 and then 27 dependent on whichever has the better temps
Hey dude, im hitting 78avg and 93 max on valorant for cpu. I undervolted my gpu and it doesnt hit over 65 on stress tests with same max frequency as it had before. Im gonna try your videos, any tips?
What CPU do you have? Anything above 10300h needs to have turbo ratio limits adjusted as well to target 75-80 degrees under load or in game Thanks for watching and commenting btw 💪😎
I don't quite understand what your asking my friend? Which settings are you referring to? I generally don't suggest things that will minimize performance, I prefer performance to power saving etc
I assume you're talking about the undervolt, no bro I reinstall windows plenty And more often than not my undervolt still unlocked If however it does revert you can just redo it, but it shouldn't though
I am facing problems now. When I set my offset values to -70, the temps dont go down at all during the benchmark. If I increase it anymore my laptop crashes. If I load into a game my laptop crashes.
What CPU do you have? Sounds like 11th gen, generally it maxes out at -70 to -85 Leave it at -70. Then do a TS bench, watch what number the fid column drops to, then set turbo ratio limits to 1 less value over all cores. Temps should come down nicely then 💪

I watched your video from 8 months ago where you unlock undervolting for a 11th gen laptop which has a locked bios, in that video you said that, for 12th gen and above, you can only unlock turbo ratio and not voltages. Is it still the same like that, even after the release of 13th Gen. I have a Zephyrus M16, I9 - 13900H, RTX 4080 (Undervolted by Curve editor, which totally runs fine), but the CPU runs at high 80 which I'm not comfortable with, even while limiting the TDP to 50W.
Yeah dude still the same story. In fact there is a latest microcode that even blocks undervolting in some HK and HX models 🤦 This method does unlock turbo ratio limits though that can improve temps. I'd look at adjusting those before getting stuck into TPL power limits tbh. I'm upgrading soon so I'll be able to do more recent hardware related content.
@@laptoptweakingtipsI might be asking a dumb question, but I remember Ubuntu allowing us to install microcodes for CPUs. So is there a possibility to live boot into Ubuntu to change the microcode for the CPU and then try unlocking undervolting. This might be a stretch, but you're the only person who I know who might be able to crack this, cause no one on reddit has hope for undervolting beyond 12th gen. Thanks for the tip on adjusting turbo ratio limits though.
@@johnthejoker04_2 bro that's anything but a dumb question. In fact it makes me feel a little dumb 🤣😂 I've never done the boot from Ubuntu, I've only ever done the grub route. But it's not something I'd recommend other than on my machine hahaha Turbo ratio limits are more affective at reducing temps on more powerful CPUs tbh Anything above the 10300h undervolting alone doesn't fully drop temps. It's the turbo ratio limits that does the trick

I have an i7 12700H asus tuf f15 laptop When try to unlock undervolting in grub It shows this error: Unable to write data ! Please help me out here man
It will unlock turbo ratio limits in 12th and 13th gen. It might unlock undervolting if you have an hx processor though. Provided you don't have a recent microcode called undervolt protection.
hi im on i9 13900h im on the grub part and it says searching for variable store 'cpusetup' unable to find variable store please what do i do help i wrote the code correctly and disabled intel virtualisation in asus bios and secure boot asw
It could either be undervolt protection which is a relatively recent microcode that completely blocks this Or Enter the command line again but put 0x00 instead of 0x0 at the end
thanks for the reply, it worked but now for 13th gen which im on its not letting me undervolt at all is this normal with i9 13900h ? i can change turbo values but it hasnt made any differences to thermals
do I gain more FPS from this? i have an acer nitro i5 11400h with 3050 laptop gpu. My game performance is bad as hell eventhough i tried all the method and im feeling exhaust now. My problem is the FPS starts getting unstable once the CPU 's temperature rise. It still always reach to 85 degrees in Celcium even after I replace the thermal paste. Hope u reply my comment soon, your video is my last hope
Lol bro Your last hope is also your lucky day my friend Step 1 will show you how to unlock undervolting and turbo ratio limits in throttlestop The 11400h is an awesome CPU, just it thermal throttles if not undervolted and turbo ratio limits adjusted Follow step 1 and 2, unlock undervolting, then I'll link a video on how to find the right undervolt and turbo ratio limits to drop temps
