I did everything correctly, but after doing this my gpu frequency lowers to 300-400 mhz (my base clock is 990mhz and it goes below it for some reason) and the fps in any game is terrible like 10-15 fps. When I reset all the settings then it again runs on 990mhz and fps is great around 60. what is happening I can't understand
Great guide, started from 900 and my crash/freeze dissapeared immediately and was able to play without any issue for hours, but before i had those issue every minute or immediately after launching the game
That's great Another thing you could do is disable hardware acceleration in your browser, steam, VLC and discord Since the 535xx hardware acceleration causes issues. Ie freezing and crashing
Not sure if it was intentional but your voltage control is not turned on, so the voltage control setting does not actually take effect. You need to turn on "unlock voltage monitoring" and "unlock voltage control." That's why your core voltage slider is greyed out and mv is at 0. My issue, however, is that even though I have those options turned on for my laptop. It still stays greyed out. For my desktop, it works. Quite odd.
lol!!!! hahaha no this was just a generic picture of msi afterburner i pulled off the net to make the thumbnail :) as for your laptop what gpu do you have? undervolting the gpu is an option 10th series upwards
nice one bro thats decent power :) there should be no issues undervolting that gpu :) what specifically do you mean greyed out? i dont recall anyhting ever being greyed out in msi afterburner, throttlestop perhaps but not msi afterburner@@KevinLe-f3m
I don't know why but I saw that laptops have that option disabled and you can't change it. I also have a laptop and the slider for core voltage is disabled along with the FAN sliders on the right. Hope this helps a little even though I don't know the reason😊
oh brainfart lol!!! i just always use curve editor so the core voltage slider doesnt even factor in for me - using the curve editor allows for perfect control as for temp limit and power limit dont bother with those at all. power limit was unlocked in 528.xx series of nvidia drivers, but i assume its always set to 100% since then as its locked now and most of the latest drivers perform better than the 528.xx series of drivers in anyway :)@@stefanpetrovski6934

Hey bro it's been ages! The m1000m is roughly a 960m or 950m equivalent, undervolting your GPU has been available since the 1000 series and up. I think that's why your struggling
Hello mate. i have a gtx 1650 laptop and boost clock is shown as 1515mhz in GPU-Z But while gaming its 1755 mhz so could ı do it 1855mhz ? because its lowers the performance when ı go 1615 mhz I'm confused.
Hey man! I just have one question. How do I know how much should I push the memory clock? From +100 to +400 how do I find the ideal number? Should I also test it in games until it crashes after I finish the undervolting + overclocking? I have a GTX 1650 as you have I just don't know if it's gddr5 or gddr6, have to check. Can you help me with this?
For me it didn't crash, but beyond +400 my system became unstable. Ie my numbers started showing up weird on MSI overlay, I got no extra performance and it actually dropped my clockspeed to top it off
Okay then, I wont push it beyond that, but to be honest it all feels so weird. GPU-Z tells me that my boost clock is 1515MHz but when I play it fluctuates up to 1785MHz, so, I used 1785MHz in MSI since it comfortably ran at that speed even before I locked it with the application. Any thoughts on this? Thank you by the way👍
@@stefanpetrovski6934 try set it to 1785 then, just be mindful that it could increase temps dramatically if you lock it in well beyond boost clock. If it doesn't great, but it can potentially cause +10 degrees If it raises temps use 1515+100 If it doesn't raise temps go ahead and set it to 1785 Laptops are trail and error mostly, 1650 laptops generally max out at 1785, but you have different power limits and cooling in different brands That's why use a video, like mine, as a framework and then do your own testing and fine tuning 💪👌
@@laptoptweakingtips It maybe increased 1 to 2 degrees celsius and I'm still trying to go lower with the voltage so I'll see, thanks man, all the best to you!
Thanks for this video. For some reason in the GPU-Z, my GPU clock and boost clock has higher value than the default clock and boost clock. Should I follow the 1702MHz or 1852MHz? My Cyberpunk crashes at 850mV. So for the frequency should I go with 1700MHz + 100 (1800MHz) or 1852MHz + 100 (1950MHz)? Also my GPU temps stay around 80C.
id say first try the 1700mhz +100 if it crashes at 850, try 867 or 875 how is your cpu as if thats hot invariably its gonna make gpu temps high irrespective maybe undervolt your cpu first and then undervolt your gpu afterwards, as cpu can drop temps between 10-15 degrees and gpu max reduction is give or take 5 degrees
@@AyushSharma-qc9fp i have mentioned that the fps decrease was 10 , means my performance decreased but my temperature dropped as well & it was worth it
Undervolt doesnt seem to be working as it will always will be less than 1785 mhz and the temperature reduction isnt that much, I dont think its worth doing it for my gpu
It's definitely worth it for your GPU, you said your GPU is 84 or 85 degrees That shouldn't be the case It should be between 60-70 under load Just go about the settings and steps carefully, don't skip to someone else's settings. hi i have a lenovo ideapad 3 with amd ryzen 7 37000u and Radeon Vega X 2gb… sorry for bad english im italian, but is worth doing the things you did in the video or maybe i should buy a sort of “adapter” for an external graphic card? Because 2gb is very bad for gaming… maybe with a 4gb external gpu i will have better performance…or not?
I don't have anyy experience with that card, igpu An external more powerful GPU will always be better. Just remember though that you will be CPU limited though. My suggestion for the time being is to go through to my homepage, there is a CPU optimization video. I think for you it will be beneficial to streamline windows as much as you can to lighten the load on your CPU You're English is very good all things considered 👌

@@laptoptweakingtips yeah you can check the curve after and before overclock apply. this method works best if you use optimal power, since it give better clock at lower voltage, than regular method that lower clock at lower voltage
@@gersomyudha282 i dont follow my brother. when i say +100 it just messes the curve back to default, which kind of defeat the purpose of this video. is there something im missing as that doesnt work for me at all??

My boost clock goes up to 1950MHz (RTX3050Ti 4GB) according to official MSI Afterburner. But in GPU-Z it only shows that my boost clock is 1485MHz. What do I perform the undervolt on? 1950MHz or 1485 + 100 (1585)?
Perhaps it is your variant of card, certain cards are under powered others are over powered When you monitor your gameplay with MSI Afterburner in game, what are the maximum clocks you get?
@@clunkeys try go 1485 + 200 Because if you lock it in at 1950 it could actually increase overall temps But maybe try 1485+200 on one hand And then 1950 on the other hand If the temps are decent at 1950 you may as well lock it at that frequency However if it raises temps go with the previous suggestion Ps it isn't you that replied late, it's me who didn't see your initial reply 🤣😂

I don't have that care bro, and even if I did all GPUs and CPUs are different. You gotta apply the principles layed out here and find your best settings by trial and error
You can of course, I've just found that if I test it via my most demanding game I can get a good idea how it actually performs Literally just preference 💪
Soo I have a 1070 max q laptop, when I undervolt and drag the 900 mv dot up to boost and press apply, mine doesn't make a curve like yours. Mine looks more like a jump, any idea why ?
Laptops don't allow you to change fan speed via MSI Afterburner, that's why it's greyed out Don't you have gaming specific software for your laptop Eg Omen software or Alienware Command Centre to name a few
Ihave 1560mhz boost, I overclocked it to 1785mhz and undervolted to around 825v and Temps reach 75c max is that good? By the way the card is 1650 gddr5 laptop
If that's the case that's great, sometimes if you overclock your GPU too much it makes the CPU and GPU temps rise Whereas a slight overclock and undervolt will reduce temps The 75c is that on your GPU or CPU or just in general your system
Sorry my brother, when it comes to laptops I know my stuff, but I'm essentially a moron at pc building and components So I cannot rightfully give you advice on that

I think work with 1615mhz as a start, but guage your temps bro, you can generally push a gtx 1650 to 1785mhz, but potentially raise the temps heavily if it's above your laptops cooling ability So start with 1615, if the temps are decent, then try 1650, ot 1685 etc etc Your English is just fine my brother, don't stress 💪
@@laptoptweakingtips Thank you kindly, I will give it a try. Yes, the temperature does get high which causes my games to freeze and then ultimately crash. For the 10750h you need to undervolt, then on top of that you also have to adjust turbo ratio limits. The clocks are way too high in that CPU, also the gf65 thin is as you may guess very thin... My suggestion try core (between -100 and -150mv) cache (between -70 and -99.6mv) Turbo ratio limits set to 38 or 37 over all cores But switch power limits off, reset TPL because that's gonna mess with performance

I dont recomend you doing that Because the shared memory will help you on scenarios where you video memory will be heavily utilized it works like the discrete GPUs but on iGPUs the RAM is shared
I don't recommend adjusting the iGPU buffer size from 2GB to 512MB or lower it can. I tested it myself and it actually reduce the performance. Integrated graphics will take a lil bit of your RAM.
