We've made it known in videos before that everyone's calorie needs are different. For Akim, to get into the conditioning he needs to be to step on stage he has to suffer. He's able to carry and maintain a lot of size, but to get the paper-skin detailing, he has to go low carb and low calorie. This isn't your average full day of eating. This is a full day of eating of an elite level bodybuilder trying to bring his best to a major competition stage. | Follow Akim Williams | ► Instagram: instagram.com/ifbbproakimwilliams/ ► Shop MHP: www.muscleandstrength.com/store/brands/mhp
Why so low carb, if you not even eating fruits and or bad refine sugars? .... good carbs, good glucose, good energy. What is carbs doing that he has to shut them down so low.
One of the nicest down to earth guys in the sport!! Would run into him frequently while food shopping, and every time I approached him he ALWAYS was polite and engaged in conversations,I salute this brother!
These videos are great, they inspire different explorations of dieting and give people examples of dedication and experimentation, I really love this content from Muscle and Strength.
Thank you for that comment! Love hearing that type of feedback. This series started off as experimental and got a huge response. We're really going to try to make it at least a monthly segment. We've got some pretty cool ones coming up this yr. Stay tuned!
Thor Odinson have you been on a strict diet? I’m on one rn I’m tryna lose weight but let me tell you that crap drains you if you don’t got self discipline
I appreciate the hard work they do to formulate the right kind of body for the sport. I respect this training and meal prep. Very simple and streight to the point. GOD Bless.
After meal 2 I was like Ok this is a joke now he will start eating his real meals but no lol. WTF Oscar accidentally switched his diet plan with some bikini competitor or what????
@@muscleandstrength He must have so slow metabolic rate eating under 2200kcal with his size that is just insane.. 99,999% of people with his size would drop like 2 pounds a day eating like him lol...
With one of the most stacked line ups in recent memory I think it may be a hard for Akeem to make it into the top 6 at the 2020 Arnold. He beat Patrick Moore by one place in last years Olympia but I thought Moore was way overlooked and I look for him to jump into the top 5 at this years Arnold Classic. Hope Akeem does great but this is gonna be one tough show.
Damn i just got hungry seeing his low total amount of carbs... Thats not even half a meal for me ... Prep is so underestimated! respect to this big fella man
2 hours of cardio, lots of healthy fats and protein and less carbohydrates , his routine reminds me the golden era bodybuilder's routine . Though he is in prep . Good content
Couldn't agree more - idk if you've seen our legends segment about nutrition with Lee Haney. But the diet he described using during his comp days is exactly what you see Akim eating here.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL I didn't even notice that he looked like Tom until I read your comment and re-saw it. You're right. He looks exactly like Tom. LOL !!!!
@@muscleandstrength Absolutely. I met Akim at Dumbells Gym in NJ before it went under. He was doing the stair stepper machine, I recognized him said hello and he had entire conversation with me while he was doing cardio ! Class Act 1000 %
I’m no bodybuilder but I have a great suggestion to an alternative if Akim wants to cut out the fat from his ground Turkey meal. I also get the 93% ground Turkey, but instead of using the sauce that he’s using which is probably packed with fat, I use a hoisin sauce called Lee Kum Kee. Only about a 1.5 g of fat per table spoon, and tastes really good.
What I always find interesting in these videos is, that I barley see a pro have any whey or such... even though they get it for free. This makes me believe that maybe whey and stuff isn’t really that good at all
I wouldn't say that. When you're prepping, you want to chew your food. It's more satiating. Protein is protein regardless of the source. During an offseason or something, it becomes a more common part of the diet plan as they're just trying to get cals down.
Akim has that thick skin. Hard for him to get grainy shredded. I think this Arnold will be his best showing to date though. Him and Oscar are the perfect match.
he's 6 weeks out brah. keto works until its time to really suffer, he prob eats more calories overall than you. 1g of fat is 9 cals versus 4 cals per 1g of carbs. pls go
@@dannym3532 To be fair, in the vid he's at 2190 cals. That's pretty low for a guy akim's size (especially to those who don't realize the prep lifestyle) - I think that's all Douglas was saying.
That's the TRUE food, bro. Clean, lot of pure protein source, nice fats. Healthy food helps your system to keep functioning at 100% everytime. And MHP is the shit, period. Keep fucking shit up, Akim!
I want to hear a version with no music, like a documentary. The song going on in the background is distracting from the actual content. Constructive criticism.
Thank you for the feedback. We probably will keep the music since a lot of other commentors on other vids seem to like our choices. You're feedback is very much appreciated tho. 😎💪🤙
Damm this is rough, especially for a guy his size. First few meals I though ah that’s ok I’m sure he will do his carbs later. Then when he didn’t I thought ah ok he’s going to have high fats, but nope 🤭. 2190 calories for a guy that size !! Shit man. But if he comes in the Arnold and nails the condition, that’s all that that matters. I like to hear Daves Palumbos thoughts on this
