@@TrollsAreUs1320 I've ran plenty of deaf bonce, I also have 6 recones for 3515r that came DOA with broken tinsels at the former and crooked formers that won't seat in the gap prorperly because they're made in a Chinese factory and not by hand
That's fucking cool... I have a speaker in need of either renewal or the garbage can. It's a less expensive one, so redoing it would be purely for the purposes of experience. ANYway, thanks for the vid!
Clamp clamp clamp... I learned that the hard way. Its way cheaper to buy 20 for $50 than to recone because the glue didn't set correctly and now you have to pay for a new kit and shipping. If you do it for yourself then I guess the only thing that sux is redoing it after install.
Have you ever seen a deaf bonce come apart just at the rubber ring?? Like the woofer is fine except the rubber ring has exploded. Deaf bonce won’t reply or reach out to me
So once you drop in everything the only thing you glue is the spider and surround ?? I need to do a recone on my 10" Rockford fosgate Punch hx2 .. the kit comes complete with cone surround spider and voice coil .. but it's not all put together...I've never reconed before .. is there a tutorial that u might have Parker?? Big fan
If your recone kit is not a drop in kit like the one Parker has here, meaning the spider, cone, and VC former are not already glued together as one piece that you can just "drop in," then you will have to do all that yourself. There are plenty of good recone tutorials on RU-vid that go step by step. Just watch several of them until you understand the basics of what is going on and you won't have any problems. Reconing subs is pretty simple. I wish I would have known this was possible when I was 16! Would have saved me soooo much money back then and I could have gotten all my friends blown subs for free.
You think this sub is better than the American bass elite ? I'm debating whether i should buy this apocalypse 272 sub, or the soundqubed hds3 that you tested about 1 yr ago
@@djshedd77 I don't see how that flimsy gasket is going to put enough pressure to evenly spread the glue and ensure a good bond. The gasket would need to be screwed down with the sub to do that,, just sitting on a table there is no pressure from the rubber.. IMHO I believe you should clamp all the way around.
What glues did you use? I'm trying to recone a small 6.5 subwoofer with a big motor and coil it's my first ever subwoofer build so I want everything to turn out perfect
@@xmaxx5565 well it's a project I came up with a while back it's a 5 inch speaker basket stacked bolted and glued to the bottom of a 6.5 speaker basket kinda hard to explain but it's almost done just needs the recone and I wanna get the best glues and epoxy for it and the coil is a 2 inch black coated copper coil nothing crazy and it's been done before but it's my personal project and first ever subwoofer build I may upload the video on that soon and the motor is a triple stack magnet it really looks nice beafy and heavy the surround is a good size for a 6.5 and it's rubber not foam
Of the three speakers, which one would you highly recommend? SAVARD Speakers Hi-Q Series 10" Dual 2 Ohm Subwoofer American Bass XR-10D4 10" Subwoofer Dual 4 Ohm 2000W Max 200 Oz. Magnet Single or what other brand can you recommend?
I also came to ask this, maybe they have futuristic glue from when I started but I remember had to clamp around full surround. Anyway all love have a blessed day
@@ParkerTheBasshead that size does OK in some applications, my Boston acoustics g5 12s have the same size coils and they sounded great, now they have psi recones because I was unable to find the original S.P.S which is basically a soft parts in a plastic cartridge that unbolts and the new one bolts back in .
