All I can say is OH MY GOODNESS !!! I've watched you since you started and am so tickled you're back. That steak is my daughter's absolute fav and she asked me for my recipe when she grew up and left home. She laughed when I told her it wasn't mine, I had "borrowed" it from Miss Paula !
What that Screams is Texas! Chicken fried steak is on the menu of nearly every restaurant in this great state, and it’s done to absolute perfection from the Sabine River to El Paso, and from the panhandle to the Rio Grande. Yours looks exactly right and perfect! Paula, you’ve always mastered every great recipe you make! I know you’re a proud Georgian, but you’d also make an awesome Texan! ⚡️💖⚡️🌲
Paula Deen, your the best. I have several of your cook books that I go to all the time when I want to make the perfect meals for my family. There are a lot of good cooks on RU-vid but no one can compare to your cooking. I make your Buttermilk Biscuits and gravy, your batter for fried Fish, and tonight I'm making your Cream of Mushroom Soup with Chicken Fried Steak. Thank You Miss Deen, we love you here in New Hampshire. ⛄❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
That mushroom soup looks so delicious !! I love chicken fried steak and gravy too. My mama and my Granny taught me if you pour our some of the grease once you are through cooking your cube steak or chicken fried steak... then add a little water to the frying pan and put the chicken fried steak back in the pan with a lid.... it will make it even more tender. I love fried oysters and oyster stew. Never tried an oyster shooter. lol !!
OMG. It all looks so scrumptious. Look how easy Paula makes cooking these foods. Simply the best. Miss ya Paula. Thank goodness for the RU-vid channel bringing us back in time and here you are
An FYI for anyone..you can make buttermilk by using any milk 1% or whole etc by adding a tablespoon of vinegar to a cup of milk let set for a few minutes. Also the steak is called cubed steak in the grocery store
I love you Paula I don't know what kind of road trip you ever took with that kind of food but I can guarantee all we ever have with sandwiches cold sandwiches and Kool-Aid LOL my daddy never stopped until we got to where we were going. What you're coming was a staple in our family southern home cooking. Our vacation did was seafood!
This looks SOoo good! Probably better than can. Would be good over your Chicken Fried Steak....Hmmm that looked soo Good! Well Everything looked so Yummy! 💗 I am a mushroom fan...mainly button mushroom ....Portobello 's do they have a bitter bite to them? PRIVATE PART...LOL- Gross looking...Can you use button mushrooms....Not a fan of wine....can you leave this out! for this dish to be still good?
Because on some channels you get answers when you ask questions. And even if Paula doesn't answer, sometimes another viewer will know the answer! Nothing wrong with asking is there?
Dunno if what she made can be called gravy where I'm from. She didn't use meat stock, only oil and milk with some flour and salt. everywhere i've been makes gravy from meat stock, vegtable stock and flour for the base then adding whatever other seasonings of their choice to finish the sauce. Also i never understood why americans called savoury scones "biscuits". Biscuits by definition are "unleavened" so you can't add yeast to them or it's no longer a biscuit.
