Since I had pretty severe acne as a teen, I think products like Glossier's coverage stuff would have been so good for me mentally. They're makeup products that are indirectly telling you that it's okay not to be completely covered up, although we can even a little stuff out if it makes us feel a lil spunkier
I am a BIG Glossier gal. However, everyone should know that they run a Black Friday sale every year! Pretty sure it’s their only sale so I use it to stock up.
I also meant to add, many of the products I mentioned are available in different bundles... so if you take the time too look through those, you might save a few bucks here & there
Good to know. Now if I can remember with all the other sales being thrown out there that’s another thing. I always wanted to try the stretch concealer, lid and cheek tints. I’m into creams like a lot of people these days.
I know a lot people hate glossier but now that I’m 46 I can really appreciate their products on my skin. I use cloud paints in storm and dusk regularly along with the concealer and highlighter. I don’t use any powder or foundation on my skin because it makes me look older and draws attention to my wrinkles etc. spot conceal if I have too. Also I’m a big tubing mascara user and EM cosmetics is my new must have. PS I thought this look was beautiful on you :)
This isn't a critique to you Emily, I ♡ your videos, it's more of a critique to us as consumers. I think we shouldn't try to change this line of products, they satisfy a need for the population that isn't into full coverage or heavy makeup and they don't need it either. Also, there's an ease to find light dewy coverage products but not a product that's light and suitable for oily skin. I personally have worked for so many women who like this product for the very reason that it's the way it is. There's a reason they're still in business and those products haven't been discontinued and are still in the market. There's enough medium and full coverage products in all espectrums out there from other brands and if Glossier changed it's line, this people wouldn't have a product to satisfy their needs. Glossier is targeting a different market, they know it and those are whom it was created for
EXACTLY. There is a place for this kind of product. Reading the reviews on their website, you can really see that. Not all brands need to produce the same thing, simply because we want a certain product to cater to our own preferences. It'd be a boring world if all makeup brands made the same things! :) Same with you tubers... I sometimes hear- why don't you apply it more like so & so... and I find myself thinking that the beauty of this platform is that we can all do it differently & that's great :)
I really like Glossier products. I think they work especially well for “mature” skin. Yes the skin tint is sheer, but it works so well on good skin days and perfect for a beach vacay. When you just want to even out your skin a bit. Combined with the stretch concealer and the wowder, it’s such a light, natural, easy look. It’s a vibe. I do like the cloud paints but hate the packaging. So much comes out if you are not super careful. The flower bomb is a spot on dupe and imo the applicator makes it a superior product. Haloscope is a great highlighter. An easy, natural highlight that blends so seamlessly. Bowbrow is a solid brow gel that works very well. Another favorite product for me is Futuredew. Love this oil serum hybrid. The whole line is meant to give a very specific look, which it does, very well. It’s not for every day but in the spring summer, I do love my glossier products.
thanks for sharing your feedback on all of these products! I think the brand gets a LOT of judgement based on the light coverage of their skin tint... when, even if that product isn't perfect for everyone, there are so many other outstanding things. I'm interested in Futuredew!

This product line seems perfect for those just starting to use makeup so that they’re comfortable and not overwhelmed with too much coverage or those looking for a super lite dewy makeup. That being said I was totally wowed by the highlighter stick and the fawn eye shadow color. So even us makeup veterans can find things that impress us. I ordered both! Thanks Emily💖✨

I just joined Scentbird and went to order "You" and it was sold out :) I wonder if that happened before or if that was shared by your influence :) Speaking of good recommendations... I just want to make sure you know... I followed your recommendation to try Kristofer Buckle's foundation stick at a time when I was going from working at home (and not wearing makeup for a few years) and working in a public retail situation. I have larger pores and had skin issues as a kid (so am sensative to how foundation looks on me) and I LOVED IT! Thank you so much. I ended up buying his whole line and it is my go to. So easy to use. Now, it's off QVC and even more affordable from their site. The undertones of lipsticks, blushes, the eye palette... all make you feel like you really know what you are doing, the look turns out so beautiful. Lasts all day... Just thank you so much for that recommendation. Here in lockdown still (remote learning) home again and put on makeup the other day and was reminded just how wonderful the Kristofer Buckle line is. YES needed this for Inspo!!!! all I wear is minimal, glowy makeup since it fits my style so well. I dont know if I'll ever need to buy more makeup but when I do itll be this easy going style!
You know Emily I think one of the things I really like about your videos is the way u dissect the products in a sort of intellectual manner, s discussion if u will. Not just popping the makeup on. Emily, a brand that reminds me of Glossier is Undone Beauty that is offered on Amazon ,Target and their own website. I wonder if you’ve ever tried any of their products, their face tint and concealer specifically. It would be so interesting to hear your comparison of their products and if you think Undone might be a less expensive alternative. Thank you for another awesome video! 😁
Heads up for the undone beauty concealer when trying to pick a shade, the product is actually 1 to maybe 2 shades lighter than what it looks in the pan !

I love the whole natural thing it’s so pretty. If I can critique just 1 thing - if you concealed the darkness on the lid space 1st would have brightened up everything. I noticed this when you used Mario’s eye base & it was like, “WOW, who turned on the lights in Emily’s face!.” It was profound really. I feel like that step is small but very meaningful for anyone with hyperpigmentation on the lids (I have it slightly too).
I was thinking the exact same. I don't have darkness but I do have extreme red capillaries running through them. If I don't conceal first my eyes look off.
@@slashblue9190 - precisely, I have a bit of both. Emily has a very bright, neutral & basically even skin tone & so when I ever saw her blank out that lid space, well, that’s when I really understood the magnitude of a step like this. It’s a regular step I take now & I love what it does.

I love the formula so much but the colors take it down a notch for me. They are always just not "quite" right for me. I like Dusk and beam for warm toned skin.
I am just discovering Glossier. I am 64, and just realizing that my grandmother looked beautiful with just pressed powder, blush and lipstick. Maybe less is best as we age? I'm experimenting lol
I discovered Glossier this year and I'm hooked! The skin care focus really appeals to me and the colours are fantastic for people who like very soft make up.
I love Glossier. I’m 53 and less is definitely more for me. I use cloud paint in dusk as a bronzer and love it so much!! I top the apples of my cheeks with puff, beam or storm, depending on my mood.
I finally got me some Milani eyeshadow primer. I tested it with shadow on my arm and there was a noticeable difference between having it under the shadow and just shadow can't wait to try it on my eyes but you have me sold on this and I know it will last me forever 😍

l really love this look on you and as someone who likes lower coverage I appreciate the detailed information and informed opinions you shared! I also wanted to offer a video suggestion. I often rely on Temptalia and similar review websites to find dupes for makeup or skin care I love but can't get anymore (either because it's no longer available, not a great value, or has an ingredient / testing policy that I don't agree with). I would love to see a video where some of those "suggested dupes" are put to the test!
I’ve really warmed up to Glossier- I used to use med-full coverage foundation and realized how thick and heavy it always looked on my skin. The skin tint is very bare but I love pairing it with the Supergoop glow screen underneath and the elf hydrating camo concealer to get my coverage. Also! The cloud paint in dusk is almost a bronze for my fair skin. Especially in summer, it gives a warm sun-burn look to my cheeks and I love it!
I do love their cloud paints and powder! Works well for me! Their skin tint is ok, its great for me during winter when I get dryer but too glossy for summer.
Have you tried anything by Undone Beauty? Saw them at Ulta and Target. Thought you might be intrigued by their small 4 in 1 palettes. Love hearing your opinions on newer brands.
I need that sunscreen video! I have the hardest time finding one that works well under my makeup. They are either to greasy and make it all melt off or pill up underneath

I love Glossier! It's because of the brand that I've kind of shied away from full-fledged foundations. I use the stretch concealer as my foundation if I have to have something that's got coverage but the perfecting skin tint is the only "foundation" I'd probably be into. The boy brow is my HG - I've gone through quite a few tubes of it because it's that good. I've yet to try the other Lidstar shades (so far I only tried Moon) and I am dying to try their Skywash !!! The Pro Tip is definitely heavy-duty stuff - it really lasts yet the brush is soft enough for me to be able to easily make my winged liner look.
I adore the cloud paint in dusk! It’s such a great summer color. Or fall... or forever and ever. I really enjoy their nite shine in pale pearl. Also very natural. 🥰
I can vouch for the niacinamide serum! Been using it for about a month now and it has seriously reduced my acne and oiliness. This was after years of trying and giving up.

Love Cloud Paint!! I really enjoy Puff and I like Storm and Dusk as well!! I blend it with my fingers. Put a little on the back of my hand, pick it up with my finger and just tap it in!! Works beautifully!!! Also love the stretch concealer. Works well for mature skin! Just ordered the Lid Star and can’t wait to try!! The balm in cherry and berry are my two favs! Love the little wash of color they give!

I love the way the concealer performs with a dry or slightly damp sponge. I get the best coverage that way. I don’t set it with powder, just tap out the creasing with my finger throughout the day. My undereye area is a desert this winter, so it has been a lifesaver!

Hi Em. I've got a tip for you that may help with your lashes. I've been using the ELF brow and lash gel on my lashes before I curl them and it really helps hold your curl. I'm enjoying your top five series w family and friends~ xo

I love using the stretch concealer as my foundation but i am a light coverage gal! One of my favorite this from glossier are they lip glosses...there is something magical on them! Even the red one is amazing, for a person that does not wear red lip anyway! Thanks for the video!
