As someone who definitely judges Coachella, I like hearing your perspective. I stopped going to festivals once I became sober, but I do miss the vibes of a good festival.

Oh man, I could talk about how awesome Coachella is all day. I did it sober last year because of my chronic illness and had the best time I’ve ever had. It makes me so sad how it’s become cool to bash Coschella, it’s seriously misunderstood. I have a coachella vlog on my channel from last year if you want a more real look at it. Only a small portion is the influencer crowd, the rest are thousands of normal people. And the music is really diverse, you just have to look beyond the first line of the lineup. They’re bringing artists from Pakistan, India, Korea, Mexico, etc, and represent tons of music genres so you can truly see anything you want. They also have a tent dedicated to small acts if you like watching artists before their careers take off. It’s a beautiful experience.

As someone who was born with a serious progressive chronic illness (cystic fibrosis), had more than 80 lung infections requiring long hospital stays, slowly lost mobility and health throughout my 20s, had 3 collapsed lungs, and finally almost died, was on life support for weeks and had to get a double lung transplant before 30 (I say all this to say I KNOW what I'm talking about), go on the trips anyway. Travel anyway. Do what you wanted to do anyway. The reality of being chronically ill is that you're GOING to be sick once in a while, and you can't let the fear of being sick keep you from enjoying your life to the fullest - this is ESPECIALLY important with chronic illness. Just giving my perspective -- you don't want to fall into the trap of living in a cocoon. Life is precious and short, ESPECIALLY for us sick bitches. ❤️

Dealing with chronic illness is very hard, especially when the disabilities it causes are invisible. I have 5 autoimmune diseases so I understand completely the fatigue, weakness and frustration of having your health get in the way of the things you want to do. Also, my best friend and her daughters all have EDS, so I understand what you’re describing. Counseling has been a big help for me as I was diagnosed 35 years ago when I was just 21. The last 10 years have been tough. Hang in there! You are a strong, intelligent person and you will adapt. Thank you for sharing this with us.

As a fellow POTS sufferer, please be careful and safe going to festivals. The long periods of standing, heat, and dehydration can be very difficult to manage. I highly recommend taking sports drink mixes that you just pop into water with you. They’ll make life a little more tolerable, especially if you plan on drinking while you’re there too.

Hope everything works out for you with Coachella! I've never been, but I used to work as a music photographer and covered a bunch of other festivals. One of my favorite things was always making sure I had a block of unscheduled time to wander and check out new-to-me bands. You never know when you'll find a hidden gem!

I understand your need to believe you've done everything you can before you finally, completely give up. I've done that with my family, and you are right. You will know when it's time to be completely done. There is still some pain, and I occasionally revisit my decision, but ultimately come to the same conclusion every time, and usually very quickly. The pain of their absence is MUCH more tolerable than the pain of their presence, and honestly, it's not really painful any longer. Sending you love, and I admire you for continuing to try until you feel confident that walking away is the best choice.

Girl I feel you about the traveling, when I was younger and really involved in my church I never went overseas for a missions trip even though EVERYONE else did. And I was like I literally can't. Hi love the content. Speaking of sensitive skin, I am also 33 and just tried the Estee Lauder Futurist Hydration foundation and had the worst allergy attack on my face from it. Made me breakout and have eczema/hive break out, so beware! Luckily it wasn't itchy which was odd. It sucked too because I actually really liked it. Had to return it.

As a person with M S who looks normal, I get the hesitation to use the AD A accomodations. Use it. It helps with energy conservation. Also, check out cooling vests. Game changer for heat intolerance.

Congrats on getting Armani PR! Just today I looked up this foundation out of the blue because I’m looking to buy one during the Sephora sale and this has been a product in my radar. Would you consider doing a full face of Armani? They have products I’ve been interested to try like the liquid eyeshadows you received (do you like?) and the Nude Color Melting blushes. Actually, everything that has to do with our endocrine and immune system is pretty complex and still not fully medically understood. As someone with chronic diseases and very high sensitivity, I know how irritating it can be if a physician you are consulting doesn't know about a phenomenon but they can't admit it. If I remember right you’re in Cali too?? It’s actually been a blessing. Have been in Cali our whole life. Yes understandably the weather was severe and damaging to some areas / but this has happened before …I’m in central and the scary part for the next couple months is going to be the already filled rivers near us will flood more when the snow melts .. it’s been a wild winter. It is definitely not the worst because we have been flooded out in the 90s .we didn’t get flooded out this time thankfully.

Crazy I think news/media like to add to the drama . Snow levels were like this is in the 60s and it’s been so long people forgot how to deal with it. It was amazing and I’m already so sad it’s leaving .. we don’t have rain in the forecast now. Our bills go up so much for the ac and it’s going to be horribly hot again . Not looking forward to 105 weather for months … we had wet weather but this is like how it was when I was very young. My brother and I used to raft to school . 🥰☺️

Exactly! That’s my plan. I’ve been in contact with their ADA team and they approved my meds and helped with some accommodations so I’m committed to it. I have to stop letting the fear of judgment prevent me from getting the accommodations I qualify for.

Ok I have to comment again now that I am a bit further in the video, you are amazingly brave being so open and honest about your health condition and it is just so shitty and unfair when life throughs such traumas on young people. i am 50 but in 2020 a sergery where my uterus was abducted wich was no problem for me since I already had my 3 boys (born 90,99 and 04) but the surgery whent so bad leaving me with this horrible 24/7 chronic nervepain and all sorts of other pain and problems (like for me it is just extreamæy difficult to sit down for a long time making travels an just the most basic things so difficult) but I really admire your strenght and positive energy and I am sure that regardless you will have many positive and exciting things in your future ❤ Isn´t makeup and skincare so healing and helpful in these kinds of situations though? For me my illness led me to youtube and being enthusiatic about these things that before I really had so little interest in, it just became so important to show some selfcare and love. Thanx again, what an amazing æerson you are ❤❤ Girl never feel ashamed though you disability is not always obvious to others ❤❤❤ It does not make your condition less “disable” ❤❤❤

I've got EDS and ended up with early perimenopause. I'm on HRT at 44 and while that helped, what really f*cked me up was adding a progesterone birth control on top. Good lord. Medical folks need to stop downplaying how severely and unexpectedly hormones can affect people.

I love your channel, so fun to see reviews of a bit more brands than many of my previously subscribed channels are showing, it is becoming a bit much of the same stuff everywhere, I was waching your sephora reccomandations and got many new ideas like the Kulfi bushes and ami coli lip oiles to name but few 😊 I see that from my country, Iceland our well famous Bjork is performing this year at cochella, wish there were more since our music scene is seriously so good if I say so myself from a country of under 400k ppl. Do you know any Icelandic bands? I am sure you and John would really like our big festivals like Icelandic Airwaives and Secret Solstice (not sure if that one will be again though) … evver been?? Your skin looks so good with that new foundation and concealer combo! I'll be checking out that Kulfi eyeshadow, too, because it's gorgeous. Also, I was curious about what you think about your compression stockings- you said they don't do jack shit? I have to wear them now, supposedly, because I developed 2 DVTs from estrogen therapy (HRT). However, I am not convinced the stockings actually do anything. Another thing: I had a narcissistic mother and when she passed I can't say that I felt that she loved me. She had refused to speak to me for a few months before she died and she was blaming me for things I didn't do. That's so fucking sad for me as well as her. I am a mother now and I would hate it if my child wasn't sure if I loved them when I pass. Even if you don't get anywhere super useful as far as communication goes with your mother in therapy, hopefully you can come to a place of feeling that there is love.

As a med student who enjoys watching your videos from time to time to unwind: from what I remember one of your diagnosis' is mast cell activation syndrome? I am a little confused as to why your doctor said it can't be the fertility hormones, since from what I remember estrogen plays a role/can increase the release of histamine from mast cells, which then leads to a dilation of blood vessels which I assume made your pots worse. Anyways, I hope you are feeling better at the moment and wishing you a great time at coachella!

I’m catching up on videos but wait a minute, does Luminous Silk have fragrance?!… I bought mine in Europe and it does not. It just smells like foundation and I am (as is my skin) extremely sensitive to scent. If it hasn’t irritated your skin though, it sounds promising!

I didn't freeze my eggs but I was on Depo-Provera for 4 years in my early 20's and my body took a ridiculous amount of time to return to any semblance of normal due to the hormone spikes and I have EDS/P.O.T.S/90% sure about Dysautonomia. Currently, my POTS is freaking out because my Allergies are causing a sprint towards Walking Pneumonia and I can't go anywhere near a urgent care or ER or I'll end up in ICU. My lungs just hate me

@@StateofKait yeah luckily we found that the combo of Albuterol, Breo, Ephedrine, Mucinex and Benadryl slows it down so steroids/Tessalon Perle/Nebulizer isn't needed but I did some serious damage by being on things for too long. Statistically speaking there's a lot of people who've have the various combinations and it takes a little bit of time to recover because of our overall fragility. I'm sure that when the time comes, both of you will make amazing parents but do yourself a favor and don't fall into the mentality of this is as good as it's going to get. You know what's going on with your body and you know how to start protecting yourself. You know that Coachella is physically taxing so bring Emergen-C, Rock Tape or Kinetic Tape, a first aid kit, one use ice/heat packs, rescue meds and most importantly a doctor's note because then they can't say anything about anything you bring in under ADA guidelines. Rest when you need to rest.

@@StateofKait oh that's awesome! I still travel overseas once in awhile. My mom's family is in the Philippines (so you can guess the lack of care). Sadly that's where we get the EDS and related autoimmunes. I know it seems scary that your immune system will go down and there will be a flare up, don't let your body hold yourself hostage. Maybe there is something that you can find for yourself or between you and your doctor that can reinforce your immune system better to get less of a down time or delay the down time. Duke, genetic research divisions at the various University of Californias' are releasing more and more research papers and the Dysautonomia Support Networks are constantly updating doctors with treatment guidelines. I apologize if any of this comes off presumptuous or preachy...I get sad for people who feel trapped because I felt that way too and it was my doctors that made me feel that way in Connecticut.

Lol I’m a very experienced festival-goer. I went to six festivals last summer alone. It involves a LOT of prep - theragunning, stretching, being extra hydrated, packing my salt pills, wearing compression socks, being strict about my diet, zero alcohol, going to bed early, kinesiology tape on my knees, ADA access, comfy clothes/shoes, and a collapsible stool. 😅I’m a pro.

I don't say this to be super mean, and depressing but for FYI, while i haven't frizzed anything of my body, I know through friends that is not as easy or as bulletproof as the marketing from this companies explains it. Its very invasive on the body, and the warranty is not as high up there as presented. What you are saying sort of matches does experiences, but i really hope it works for you.

@@StateofKait I went to ask my friends to confirm the info and it was more about bad experiences but with egg freezing, so i guess not the exact same, I googled a bit and I gathered that embryo freezing vs egg freezing is "better". But they (4 friends, cis women from different countries) had awful experiences in terms of restoring their bodies to balance after being pump up with hormones, both in terms of mental health and physical stability. There's one friend who got ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome too, which was supposedly rare, and perhaps it is rare and they just have bad luck. I can't also say if it didn't work because their eggs are frozen and they haven't tried to use them. At least two of them said that they felt it was advertised more as a fool-proof process, way easier, and not as risky health wise. So they were a bit disappointed in that sense, but still felt like all in all it was the best available choice for them, they just wished the companies had been more transparent about the risks.

Although I do know a lot of women who had a super easy time, barely had any symptoms besides a little bloating, and it was smooth sailing all the way. They got a bunch of eggs and it was all easy. Definitely not my experience! It was horrendous at times.
