I did the same with the sale. I purchased three palettes and had an anxiety attack afterwards, but justified it as a birthday purchase. And here's the kicker...I can't bring myself to use them. They are so pretty, so luxurious, so...sigh...I don't feel worthy of them. I never thought I would own a Pat McGrath palette in my life and now I have three. For me, it's a bit like owning a unicorn.

For some reason, with the explosion of makeup "enthusiasts" and influencers, if something isn't complete opaque it "isn't pigmented" or it's not "full coverage" enough. People don't stop to think that maybe it's SUPPOSED TO BE a wash of color, or a sheer coverage, or God Forbid, a buildable pigmentation/formula. I don't like Morphe eyeshadows for the exact reason that TOO PIGMENTED is sometimes patchy, hard to blend and muddy. Especially when you have cheap. Sub par ingredients like they use. I prefer my products be a buildable formula and I think most makeup artists would prefer not to go in FULL PIGMENT, as well.
Cooked_Makeup_ Jennifer Right!! I stopped following most RU-vidrs because I could see through all the lights and filters they use too much Products and cake it one so much. Your comment is so true. I like a natural finish almost always. People mostly dont know what they talk about. I am thinking I would love this foundation. Also, the concealer really amazing and blurring I noticed the same effect when using it on my friend. Whats more amazing is the PatMcGrath blurring under eye setting powder. It is so finely milled (is that the right word) it feels sooooo smooth I thought it was a Cream!!! Its the make-up product I was impressed with so much In years!!! You can use it on the face too it is amazing if you hate powder, have dry skin but want that airbrushed look. Ugh in love. Sorry I had to say this it is so amazing!
that's how I feel about Anastasia shadows. I get that they're good quality and everything, but for me they're just too pigmented and they end up looking muddy or unblended

im 32 , when I was 19 i did a show for Gucci, she did my makeup ! it was this beautiful safari green , peacock look. The way she works is nothing like youre used to seeing, to be honest i think the only tool she used was mascara and tweezers she did everything with her hands. Her hands are like water ...i can explain shes amazing !
Every “influencer” I’ve watched who’s used/reviewed this primer/foundation combo has hated it - too sheer/patchy/too drying etc Just goes to show what happens when a true professional MUA uses and applies a product correctly. Thank you xx

Yeah, I hate to say it, but it really does look horrendous on some peoples skin. Even when applied lightly and blended well on top of a nicely prepared base. Its just not going to be for everyone.

I've ordered £200+ worth of makeup, do I need it? No. Did I think 'I want that!' yes. I can't wait for it all to arrive, it's like a little gift for me from me. It’s wild to me that we’ve gotten to the point where people feel the need to *apologise* for saying expensive cosmetics are good...we’re honestly spoiled for choice with well-performing, cheap products these days, there’s no need to spend Pat McGrath prices unless you want to! And that’s fine! I’m sure the luxury experience is amazing! A youtuber being truthful and saying they believe a luxury product is worth the money they spent for the experience they got is not them saying anyone *has* to buy it...I want them to be 100% truthful about the quality of EVERYTHING they review, even if it’s miles outside of my price range! I agree completely. Never in my dreams did I think I would spend so much on a makeup product. After listening to Jackie Aina review a a few PML palettes I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Well, of course I went back and bought another palette and some lip products. I loved them all. If you can see and feel the difference in a product then it is worth buying -if you can afford it. Sometimes the draw is the color story, sometimes its the quality and ease of application. I don’t think I will ever do a full face of PML because there are other brands , far less expensive, that I like that work for me. I don’t usually buy a moisturizer because of the name. That kind of product purchase depends entirely on if it does the job for my skin.
I do think there is a placebo effect as well though. If you gave them the product without them knowing it was luxury would they still spend 35 pounds on a grey lip balm?

Robert I am in LOVE with how your channel is evolving, having watched most of your videos, you can tell how much you’ve warmed up to the camera and your fan base. With most other “influencers” their idea of evolving is improving their makeup skills, however yours has been stunning from the start. I love your channel 🖤
I own all the palettes and I can honestly say that they are worth the money. Tip for working with the mattes: they do not work well on a wet or slightly tacky base. Run a thin layer of translucent powder over your base since they’re a velvet texture. Also the special shades (the 4 glittery/sparkly/duo chrome shades) are best used with your fingers. If you want to get a high shine that’s almost sheet metal-like, use them with Mehron mixing medium. 💙💙💙

Here’s why I’m sold- I have seen Robert fight with a lot of palettes to get a desired look, but with this round he (quite literally, and keeping the editing in mind) ‘whacked it on,’ as he is known to say, and got a flawless look. All in all, wow.
One thing that I don’t understand is the notion that if a makeup product is sheer.. either eyeshadows or foundation.. it’s automatically a bad product. I thought that eye look you did was stunning! I never once thought it wasn’t pigmented enough. It was beautiful choice you made

I was a straight up whore for Pat McGrath when she was doing limited run releases only (I only missed the first one because it snuck up on me). When her permanent line launched I slowed down buying because the pressure was off. Her palettes and lipsticks are still some of my most loved makeup items. Not everything is a must buy for me but she is still my OG makeup artist brand love. And I should have mentioned I keep ALL the packaging, right down to a huge vase full of the sequins. I know some people hate then....I want to seal mine in resin as a block. I love them!
I use the sequins in my makeup brush containers. 😂 I only have a couple of the limited, but the Lust 004 Bloodwine kit? Oh my god, those lip colours are DIVINE and I use them so carefully.
I just go lipstick and glosses in the mail yesterday and I'm saving the sequins for Christmas wrapping......like, if someone gets earrings, it's going in the box!!!

those eyeshadows are insane. the depth of color, the subtlety and excellence of tone, the texture, the pigment -- unparalleled, IMO. the matte lipsticks are also brilliant. my favorite products of hers. if I wore foundation, I'd probably like hers, because I don't really want coverage -- but I find I can get no coverage much less expensively by just not using foundation! the black liquid liner is nice, too (and has a larger amount of product than most other liquid liners), but K Palette eyeliners (a Japanese brand) are better, IMO.
I have never seen a influencer be so transparent when it comes to talking about commissions and sponsorships he makes on the video you're seeing at any giving time. I love u! Oh and I also appreciate your honesty and how you feel about the products that you are sharing with us
I never thought that I cared about packaging at all until I got my first ever Hourglass package today and was in awe 🥺😍 so sleek and gorgeous. Plenty of others only use neutrals or only do rainbows. My opinion is do what you love! Get your purple on!!! 😈
Yeah. But the reasoning is different. As Hyram and James have said, La Mer is extremely expensive with common ingredients, and although Tatcha has good ingredient lists, the products are filled with fragrance and essential oils. They are expensive for no reason, it's just because of a brand. Robert using these cosmetics though is more reasonable because the products are made by a makeup legend and are extremely well formulated and fit into the luxury standard.
Annalise Snoddon her products are top quality.. brands like YSL, Dior, Tom Ford all have not do great make up but sale at a high price point because of the name.. Brands like Charlotte Tilbury and HourGlass are good quality luxury brands and sale at the same or similar price point as Pat .. its a luxury brand and the quality of the products are very good .. it’s not just her name she selling .

I find the apologetic "im guilty but it's delicious and it's all mine" a very endearing, keeping it real attitude. He doesn't need to apologise for anything, obviously. But that drop of authentic "guilt" is super relatable, which is why so many identified and laughed. I absolutely love when you ask, “Is it just me... or?” It isn’t just you. I’d love to try the concealer, but there is no shade for me. Anyway, I’d love to see you work with these palettes more - especially, mixing shades from different palettes.
The lip balm is really amazing on my lips. I have eczema and it's literally helped so much with clearing up my lips. For the first time in years, my lips are "normal" looking.
I love the under eye blurring powder, I use this in my t-zone and this works good for me without the need for setting powder but I do have normal to sensitive skin, not oily. The concealer is blurring and I thought the primer/foundation DID blur your skin. The under eye blurring powder I think is equally incredible. I shall be 60 this year and when I wear PM makeup I’ve had people think I’m 10 yrs younger.

They say that with Pat McGrath eyeshadows you have to make sure to use the right types of eyeshadow brushes. Mel Thompson doesa great explanation on this. I ordered two Pat McGrath Eyeshadow Palettes because they are on sale for $94 each with a free lip balm..the one that Robert bought for $35 ... If they weren't on sale I don't think I'd have purchased...so now I'm watching videos to make sure I know how to correctly use her eyeshadows for best experience ❤️
Pat McGrath eyeshadows are unreal!!! I really love the mini palette she does too! I've used some of her more expensive ones but the mini is like 30 quid and it's soooo worth it when you don't want to spend a lot
