Every time you said “such an easy flight”. I’d flinch. It’s like saying “oh we have this game won”. That’s when the wheels fall off.

I understand being addicted to flying, I am addicted to Antique Cars. My curiosity is what kind of a job supports you flying enjoyment. Mine is an online business selling Antique car parts.

Brenham airport used to have a great little 50s diner. They once had a B-17 (Texas Raiders 😪) fly-in, so big crowd paying for rides. Many flew in for their $100 hamburger including two Apache helicopter crews, they walked into the restaurant like rock stars.

My first jet flying job was for an upstart Citation fractional company based out of College Station. The airplane I was attached to was based here in central Florida but we had to position there for maintenance and training

I went to fire school at Tx A&M, was a fire fighter in Bryan. During training once we had to climb a 50 foot ladder, we were higher than an airplane landing at Easterwood. My instructor has a photo looking DOWN into the cockpit.

Lake Murry Oklahoma (1F1) is a great trip for a meal. There is a great restaurant right off of the runway for either that hamburger or many other options including steak (yum!). That would be quite a trip for you from Houston though. At least what, three hours or so each way. Weekend trip I guess or all day anyway. Love watching your videos Kay! God bless you!

ok for those that don't know the $100 is referring to taking your airplane to flying to an airport 50-100 miles away and getting a burger the cost of the burger 10-15 bucks then add in the price of fuel = around $100

I have a 1968 Cherokee 180D. Used to file IFR all the time. Haven’t filed in a few years now. Hope to get back into it again. I use a Garmin GNS 480 GPS Nav/Comm. Enjoy your video. You are an excellent pilot and thank you.

If you’re in California check out Harris Ranch. They have a grass runway, and Hotel, but a great restaurant. I was an over the road truck driver and always loved this place. 80’

It's special what you have with your dad. My dad was a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force in the Korean war, but his love of aircraft and air history is what dr9ve me to get my pilot's license at age 16 at only 35 hours into training. My dad's gone now, but that love is still there and I still fly. Flew F14's in the U. S. Navy for several years. In the 80s and 90s. Love that my dad gave me that gift and always encouraged me. Miss ys, dad.

Hi Kay, I love your videos. It's always fun to tag a long on your adventures. Although I've never been to the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg (T82), I think a stop by their restaurant for some diner food, or simply see the place, would have to be interesting. Also, I bet there's some really good Cajun or Creole food somewhere along the Gulf Coast. BTW, I fly a 1967 Piper Cherokee 140/160 (with a Power Flow exhaust system.) I use the venerable Piper to commute between Mena, AR (KMEZ) and Rockwall, TX (F46.) One of these days, I'll fly to Gaston's White River Resort (3M0) in NW Arkansas, land on their turf runway, and enjoy some rainbow trout. I've also been told that the Bentonville, AR airport (KVBT), Thaden Field, has a very good restaurant and some privately owned warbirds that might be seen from the terminal. I think I'll do breakfast there someday and try the "Takeoff Tacos" or some "Hangar Hash." Unless you're revved up for a long day , those probably would be too far for a burger, but if you're in the area they might make a good rest stop or overnight destination.

Gate 12 is an excellent restaurant with very polite servers. Ate there with family a couple years ago. Gonna visit my brother with his wife and daughter, who is in the Corps of Cadets at A & M, in December. Booked on a CRJ 700 from Dallas to Easterwood. Thank you for filming. Your wingspan is about 35 feet? So I'm guessing, and the runway is wide, is about 120 feet. 🙂

On your way to Oshkosh next year, try Pilot Pete's at Schamburg airport. 06C. Its under the ORD bravo. I've flown in several times at night. Very interesting to see the heavy's flying into O'Hare right above you while flying the traffic pattern. There is a RU-vid video from local Chicago news station about the restaurant.

GPS is to navigation what Autopilot is to flying the plane. I remember hearing about and then seeing the first GPS. Man was it exciting. I started flying again and even bought an airplane. Now if Id have had autopilot, it would have been the cats meow. Lol. Great videos, thanks Kay.

Curious how the burger at Downwind restaurant at PDK compares to other airport burgers you’ve had. We drive there on occasion to watch the air traffic, and the burger and fries are on point but I don’t have the experience that you do.

Aggie International! Easterwood is a nice airport. If you ever see huge balls of fire or smoke on the field there, don't panic, there is a fire fighting training facility there that does lots of practice. Nice video!

If your wings don't wobble just a little on Takeoff in a G.A. Aircraft, especially after a few Wx Systems & A Trough has passed bringing a significant Temperature Drop, then you're not flying! I've seen several of your videos & I'm very happy that more & more women are getting into Aviation! A Piper Cherokee 140 was the first Airplane that I ever took control of, & I was 9 or 10. The Plane was my Dad's & We were doing what we did every Sunday Afternoon, We were flying one of my Dad's Airplanes. Now fast-forward to the present & I've just retired from The Airlines. Both of My Daughters are now G.A. Pilots, Third Generation Pilots. I'm very happy that They followed in my footsteps & those of Their Grandfather, who was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Combat Pilot over Europe. After the War he became a G.A. Pilot & Flew Recreationally for the rest of His Life.

I lived and worked overseas, so there are quite a few tipes I am willing to spend $100 or more on, including steak, fish, or various other kinds of fish, particularly French, Turkish, Italian, and Israeli, so you might want to check out various towns where you over night.

you fly into KLQf in Concord NC and Laneys Airport N92 has fly-ins in October. I finally got to go to this years fly-in, its was cool to be there this year

Nee guy here, can't fly anymore but my grandson is going to be 16 this spring and he wants to start his lesson so I told him I would buy a plane if he did! Not anything over $120K I explained it can be an asset or a bank breaker if hou don't take excellent care of it! I sold my Piper about 10 years ago and I made $15 k over what I paid. You can count on a return if you take care of your equipment
