(Update: I've been getting comments that this pro tip might have been patched I'll check myself and probably reword this edited comment) Pro tip for rush you can stand in a separate corridor that isn't a numbered door to avoid him. Rushs main goal is go from the door you entered in to the next rooms door. Evidently 60% of the time you are in the way. In summary if you are not in the way of the path between the doors he will fly past you no issue.
@@dndzai rush basically Is late for work Ambush wants to kill you, it will kill you if you are not hiding while being in the same room as it no matter what.
tip for halt, you dont actually have to turn around, you just need to walk back and forth everytime halt makes you, as long as you dont touch halt, he wont do damage, looking at him does absolutely nothing. completely safe. Edit: Uh, i've seen like 30 different comments saying the same thing before me, why do i have this much likes?
Glitch is a rare entity that will attack you when too far behind the group, yes, however... in extreme rare instances, it is possible to get attacked in solo, as I once have. In a rare case where a room fails to generate within 3 seconds, or if 2 rooms generated and overlapped, the door will not open, and 3 seconds later, if you turn around, glitch will attack you and teleport you to the next room. It serves as a failsafe, in case such error occours, and will deal no damage to the player. Nevertheless, Glitch is more common in multiplayer.
@@TheSoft-Hardware lol that's the one where you were too far behind the group. this failsafe glitch entity is not the one that damages you, it only occurs on room 49
Important tip: if the room ends in a dead end into a vent rush will double back tip 2: you can go back into the halt hallway it’s safe so you can loot the stuff in the drawers
When I played for the first time, I got double teamed by ambush and hide on room 14, and had no idea what to do against them. This was very helpful as now I know how to counter them! Thanks!
Hey everyone. Quick disclaimer for seek. The game has updated so now you need to manually crouch in the crouch spots. This video was made very early on in the game’s life so some information may be missing or altered because of future updates. Please keep that in mind when watching this video!
@@marie-pieredwards5421 due to connection issues. If you had bad internet. You would die to Seek before you would auto crawl. Hence the reason they changed it.
@@Tealen I know there’s a 0.5% chance of getting ambush in levels under 50. That’s not an estimation from statistics that’s an actual thing stated by the devs
One time, I was on room 11 and encountered Ambush. I think there's a small chance for that to happen. Rush can also be encountered in later rooms aswell.
CHANGE ON 1:24 You now have to crouch under the crouch spots during the chase. The game will not do it for you anymore. CHANGE ON 1:43 The fire now deals 40% damage MISCONCEPTION ON 2:35 The figure will only sense your vibrations if you are close to it. I uncrouched while far away and I was fine 2 MISSED DETAILS ON 2:20 1: In multiplayer, the figure will move INCREDIBLY fast once you open the door and not everyone has gone through the door 2: The figure's walk speed will improve the more books that you have. GAMEPLAY CHANGE ON 4:41 The eyes deals less damage now. MISSED DETAIL ON 6:22 Hide will kick you out of the closet increasingly faster when you conquer door 50 MISSED DETAIL ON 6:53 Glitch also appears when the game has trouble getting a room for you. If this happens, glitch will teleport you AND your group to a pre-generated room and deals no damage MISTAKE ON 7:14 It is possible to get ambush on earlier rooms, just so fricken rare that few people have gotten it in room
UPDATE: When you run from eyes you now have to press the crouch button to get under the fallen shelfs. Also the doors glow brighter now so do the areas where you need to crouch.
Once I accidentally got lost from my teammate and glitch attacked me, but then I got teleported into halts room and died. Edit: beat halt but looked at Eyes ):
I love this game's enemies although i never even played it before (because im a little pussy) and i really like the concept of glitch, you can't even cheat your way to a victory as well by letting your teammates go in front while you stay at the back, and the game doesn't let you hide in the closet for too long to avoid people afking letting the teammates do all the work, the game actually forces you to cooperate and i really like games that does that
@@xvnzkaop thank you, anyways update i played it, i ran into the wrong door during seeker chase, i was at floor 44 first attempt with my brother who played it before, it was fun i liked it 10/10 recommend
I saw this game a few days ago. It's so well-thought out, scary, and fun to play! The game in itself is a masterpeice. Also, Halt makes its presence known by flickering lights, and the next numbered door the players enter will be the hallway. Rush and Ambush don’t always spawn when lights flicker, so if they don’t spawn and there’s no eyes, it’s Halt. Edit; I encountered Halt and was teleported automatically without opening a door, so if other players do it works for everyone I guess?
I have a question, when I was playing and went to door 50, I saw that it was not a gate, it was a normal door like other levels. And when I open it, the glitch entity rushes to scare me and take me to the actual 50th door. Has anyone ever encountered that case?
This happened to me and my friend, it was just us two, travelling together and glitch pushed us up to the room, we had no idea what happened but we didn't lag behind the group (it was just us)
okay so for the final boss, you don't need to go to the closet. as soon as the cutscene ends, run straight away up the stairs to get the keys. wait for like 5-10 seconds in the elevator then crawl ur way down to the door. that room is safe. the numbers that appear on top with a coloured square = turn on the switch, no time limit
When ambush tries to get you, try and time when you go in the closet, as if your late, hide can get you, as the length of ambushes attack is long enough to trigger hides effect
Ideas for floor 3 entities Benjamin: When you open a non-room door it has a chance to appear and attack you which does the same damage as Timothy Gives achievement: Meet Benjamin Isnt he lovely? Dash: Similar to Rush, but you have to hide under a bed instead of a wardrobe and only spawns in rooms with beds of course Gives achievement: Sweet Dreams ..Or not... Space: If you get too close you will take a small amount of damage so staying near the walls would be a good strategy Gives achievement: Social Distancing give me my space! Reflex: When you open a room door it will come at you extremely fast and you will have the option to close the door on it but if you don't do it quickly enough then its game over. If you survive then you can open the door again safely. Gives achievement: Good Reflexes don't need that doctor's checkup do ya? Stealth: Will disguise as loot when you open a drawer and if you attempt to grab the item it attacks you. The only way you know if it is Disguise is listening to it and if you hear whispering don't grab it. Gives achievement: Nice Try i heard you...
Fun tip for the Figure: After a certain period of time wandering, he will pick a player to start pathfinding to. At this point you are forced into a closet to play the minigame. These moments get more frequent the longer you take. This event does NOT take place on Floor 100, for obvious reasons. You can tell he's pathfinding if his footsteps seem faster than normal.
Pro tip for Rush: if youre lost in a darkroom and open the next room door by mistake and thosse next rooms lights starts to flicker, even if you didnt make it inside the next room, Rush will come
Extra tip for screech: rooms that rush destroyed the light in are not rooms screech can spawn in, also rush doesnt break the lights in the next room so if that room is dark aswell screech will spawn there
Ambush can actually attack at any time, I'm pretty sure the chances increase the farther you go, the earliest I've seen him appear is room 8 Edit: Ambush also has a 100% spawn at some point between the the second seek part and room 100, so when you get there, prepare yourself :)
The chance is higher in later rooms for ex: rush level 85 to 100 (my bad I said rush, I meant ambush, edit) but it is lower during below and it doesn't only appear in rooms 85 to 100
The comment is actually true, rush can spawn with ambush's abilitities, Also, quick tip: when rush comes, make sure you get out of the closet and get back in, also i got ambush in door 5, and appearently that is rare so
Its sad to see that people need help with monsters when you can just do trial and error, you're getting 0 of the experience already knowing what to do in rooms and it completely breaks the fun of Doors, what makes it fun is how sudden it all is because you could just be cruising nicely through the rooms and then BAM you're at door 50 and you have to get through it with 0 prior knowledge and you'll actually feel accomplished completing it by yourself and not guided by a RU-vid video.
LEVEL 100 TIP: You can run past the monster right after the cutscene. It's entrance animation keeps going for a few seconds right after the cut scene ends
@@VoidiumTheEye Funny thing. One run there was this room full of closets. Rush appeared and I still survived. I never used any of the closets, instead I hid at a corner, where a potted plant is. I survived, all because Rush focuses on the shortest route to the next door
@why well that one is a glitch they are going to fix. if someone is in a closet and you crouch next to it, the game registers (thinks) you are in the closet too
Tip for those who haven’t knew this, at door 100, you can go through the figure by running past the stairs, the figure will just search for you in door 99 without noticing you, you don’t need to crouch getting the key and going to the locked door because there’s kinda no cutscene of figure going back to door 100 when the elevator isn’t powered yet
Flickering lights can indicate a few entities depending on its duration, which are Rush, Ambush and Halt. After playing the game so many times, I finally realized how the duration matters. Ambush's flicker is a little longer than Rush's while Halt's is just like really long. As long as you rely on your sound with Rush and Ambush, you should have no issue surviving. Also, Screech doesn't always "psst" as I have been attacked by it without hearing the "psst" so just make sure you occasionally check your surroundings when in dark rooms. After leaving a dark room, check again since Screech may follow you out.
I encountered HALT in my first run and i had no idea what to do so i found the pattern for each time it changes direction and hid behind a bookshelf and it didn’t deal dmg to me, i still died though so i’m not really sure if this is useful information or not.
If you see the halt monster in front of you run in the opposite direction (back the way you came) until the screen flashes, then go forward again, repeat until you complete the room
@@lovecrisis619 bro he sometimes spawns infront of you so you go backwards a little then go forward to avoid dmg cus he does alot of dmg and its easy to get damaged like the dude playing
(According to my friend at least) There is a way to avoid Timothy's attack if you look away from the spider extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) quickly he won't attack you. I think how it works if you are looking at the draw when Timothy is inside it he can jumpscare. Again this is just going off what my friend said.
for the figure, avoid going into the closets in the library as much as possible, my friend informs me that hiding in them will cause the figure to come towards you more compared to when you aren't. making it more difficult and dangerous. | if you are on multiplayer in the library, get the group to group up, upstairs when you have the code, opening the door when your teammates arent ready or cant leave will kill all parties involved. the figure will rampage and the minigame nor closets will help you, and if youre unlucky it will get you at the exit of room 50 aswell. | in room 50 you can mess up on the mini game once and be fine, the second time the figure will pull you from the hiding place, in room 100 you cannot mess up at all, it will be instant death. if you want to play ambush safe, after every 2 passes, exit and reenter the closet to prevent yourself from being knocked out by hide.| for seek the biggest goal is to not panic, you have time to correct yourself even if you go the wrong way, sometimes depending on the room, you can even go backwards and fix the mistake.
Yknow considering the figure is blind I was thinking of a multilayer ending where one group distracts it by throwing certain objects in different directions to lead it away from the elevator while the other group fixes the elevator which leads will either lead to the same ending or a different ending
One time, I got tag teamed by Screech and Rush. I was leaving a dark room and then got a Screech to appear, and then as soon as I entered the next room, Rush killed me before I could make it to a locker
Mine was different i was hiding in the closet from rush and then I heard a "psst" i thought it was just a fake but it was actually real then I died cause I was at 50% health
5:09 This is false, when the ghost is coming towards you, you walk backwards, since when you walk backwards, you walk slower, and when he's behind you, move forward, this is way more easier, and using this technique makes halt easier then rush.
I also managed to encouter glitch on room 49 while I was playing solo, when I opened the room 50 door (which was a regular door no the fancy one) glitch appeared and brought me to the fancy door where the figure is.
All monsters in Doors and how to survive them. Rush. Rush is one of the first, if not the first, entities players will encounter in The Hotel. When Rush spawns, the lights in multiple rooms will flicker, and you'll hear a distorted growling sound-this is your sign to hide! You can avoid Rush by hiding in a vent or closet or crawling under a bed. If you fail to find a hiding spot before Rush speeds by, you will die on contact. Once Rush has passed, all the lights in the rooms it ran through will be broken, but you can continue toward the next door without fear of its return. Sometimes, Rush will cause the lights to flicker without actually spawning. In these cases, watch your back and continue toward the next door. Ambush. Each time that Rush is set to spawn, there's a very low chance that Ambush will spawn in its place. Like Rush, Ambush will make the lights flicker, create a distorted noise before it appears, and run through all of the nearby hallways/rooms. Unlike Rush, however, Ambush can run through these rooms up to six times. The best strategy for surviving Ambush is to hide in a closet when you hear its presence, step out of the closet when it disappears, and repeat this process until it fully disappears. Staying in the closet for too long will spawn Hide, so it's best to leave and re-enter. Ambush is also exceptionally quicker than Rush, so be sure to complete the steps above at a quick pace! Hide. Hide is here to ruin your day for those who find comfort in hiding when the going gets scary. This figureless entity spawns when players have spent too much time hiding under beds or inside vents or closets. If Hide deems that you've been hiding for too long, your screen will begin to turn red and flash the words GET OUT, and your pulse will progressively increase, growing louder and louder by the second. If you still refuse to leave, Hide will eventually kick you out of wherever you're hiding and lower your health by 40%. You'll then be blocked from hiding again until a timer cooldown finishes. Halt. imilar to Rush and Ambush, Halt makes its presence known by flickering lights. Unlike these two entities, however, Halt doesn't immediately appear after the lights flicker. Instead, it spawns behind the next numbered door that players open. Upon opening this door, players will enter a dark hallway only illuminated by Halt's glowing blue eyes. To escape Halt, run down this hallway and out the door at the other end. As you travel down the hallway, you'll need to keep an eye out for flashing words, specifically Turn Around. When Turn Around appears on your screen, immediately turn your camera/character and walk in the opposite direction. You'll need to repeat this process, turning around and walking forward each time the prompt appears until you successfully make it through the door at the end of the hallway. If Halt makes contact with you, you will take 60 damage. Eyes. As you move from room to room, opening doors as fast as possible, there's a chance you'll run into a purple glow-this is Eyes. After a few seconds, a 36-eyed entity will spawn from the purple glow and will deal 10 damage to anyone who looks at it. To survive Eyes, simply maneuver out of its area while looking at the floor, ceiling, or walls. Basically, look anywhere but at it! Screech. If you find yourself walking through a numbered door and into a pitch-black room, you may need to look out for Screech. This entity will make its presence known by whispering a quiet "pst"-when you hear this sound, turn your camera behind you as fast as you can and look directly at Screech. If you look at it in time, it will scream loudly and jump at you but deal no damage. If you fail to look at it in time, however, it will scream and jump and deal 40 damage. Having a light source, such as a flashlight or lighter, will lower the chance of Screech attacking in a dark room. Jack. In terms of attack damage, Jack is a harmless entity. In terms of psychological damage, however, that's a different story! Jack has a 1/20 chance of appearing in closets, and a 1/2000 chance of appearing behind numberless doors. When this entity does appear, it serves as a mere jump-scare and does no damage to the player. The more closets that you open, the more likely that Jack is to spawn behind one of them. Once Jack disappears, the closet or room it appeared in will be enterable again. Timothy. Another basically harmless entity is Timothy, the hiding and jump-scaring spider. Each time that you open a drawer, there's a 1/200 chance of being jump-scared by Timothy, who will jump onto the player's screen, take 5 HP, and then disappear. Glitch. Glitch will only attack in multiplayer servers-if you're playing alone, there's a 0% chance that Glitch will attack you and deal damage. In multiplayer servers, Glitch only attacks those who stray away from the group, taking away 10 to 40 HP and teleporting them near the other players. If everyone on your team stays together, you shouldn't have to worry about running into Glitch. Update: A patch has been added that makes it so that Glitch will appear in solo servers if the experience itself fails to load the next room. Before this patch, users who encountered this bug while playing would be forced to end their run, losing all of their progress and leaving the server. Now, with the new update, players who encounter this bug are instead met with Glitch and teleported a few rooms ahead to try and combat the bug. When this happens, you shouldn't lose any HP. Seek. Seek is one of two entities that have more than one guaranteed appearance. Players will encounter Seek the first time between doors 30 through 45, then again sometime between doors 80 through 95. Before Seek spawns, players will begin seeing unsettling eyeballs on the walls around them. Eventually, walking through a numbered door within the ranges mentioned above will cause Seek to manifest from a pile of slime on the floor. After a brief cut scene, Seek will begin chasing players down a long hallway and through multiple doors. As you run, keep an eye out for white sparkles-these will direct you along the correct path. During this running sequence, there's no need to use C or Shift to crouch-if you approach a path that requires you to crawl, your character will do it automatically. Also, during this sequence, avoid the fallen chandeliers and slime-covered hands, touching the chandeliers will take 40 HP, and the hands will kill you automatically. If Seek catches up to you, you will also insta-die, so look out for those sparkles! Once you reach the end of the final hallway and enter the next room, the door behind you will close in Seek's face, trapping it outside. Figure. Likely the hardest entity to avoid, Figure is a blind entity that uses its incredible hearing to detect nearby, and sometimes even far away, players. To survive Figure, crouching and moving slowly is crucial. Players will encounter the Figure twice, once in room 50 and again in room 100. If players are attacked by Figure, they insta-die. If you notice Figure coming toward you, hop into a nearby closet, if you can, and hide. As it approaches, a QTE minigame will appear on your screen that requires you to either click or press a pattern of specific buttons in a short amount of time. If you complete this minigame successfully, Figure will leave the area, giving you time to make your escape.
When you’re at the seek place crouch before the game makes you bc you will be faster, also seek is kinda slow so if you mess up you still have a chance
Hide be like: “ain’t no way your hidin the whole game” Glitch be like: “if you are lost it’s not my fault so lemme just hurt you 40 and teleport you to your group as a lesson”
i never knew glitch existed thx and also if you open a door (it doesnt need to be numbered) jack could appear as well thats what happend to me you should do a guide to all badges as well

@@santigaru40 that way is how to die, I tried that 3 times before and I does every time. I just turn my camera around and move the opposite direction, works way better
the way halt works is that if the lights flicker alot, more than rush and ambush, then the next room will teleport you to the haltway (in other words the long hallway to survive halt.) when this happens, halt will either spawn in front of or behind you. if he spawns in front, walk back. if not, run away from it. every time the screen flickers you will briefly see a TURN AROUND screen. after that screen, halt will reappear in front of you, and you must go backwards. the turn around that makes you go backwards is always shorter than the turn around going forwards, otherwise it would be impossible. once you reach the end, you can revisit that very long hallway to search any drawers. How halt catches you is the fact that he is always slower than you if you move away from him, and faster when he is in front of you. so if you turn around, he is behind you and is much slower. I had actually encountered halt in the 6TH room with a friend, and I had absolutely no clue what was happening. in fact, he's so rare that most of your runs don't even encounter him. if you are speedrunning this game, you DO NOT want to encounter halt. you are slower walking backwards so halt will be able to catch up, believe it or not.
when you encounter Halt, there's no need to actually turn around just whenever it says "turn around" go in the opposite direction, using "W" and "S" on pc :D that's easier to do, so I thought I should have tell this edit: i wanted to say to just walk backwards when the "turn around" appears, but my english's bad lol it's also going to be fixed so you would be dead for doing that
its my first time playing doors and i quickly got good abit now. For floor 100, if you hide in the closet closest to the (wooden) door, he goes inside and the door closes and he gets trapped in there idk how long he's trapped for but it was long enough for me to figure out how to do the code thing and successfully do it(I think he breaks in when you finish the code)

I feel like you're wrong. I assume you have screech follow you out of dark rooms, since he doesn't actually despawn even if you exit the dark room. For me, rush is always guaranteed a hiding spot. I don't know what you're talking about. You're good for jack i guess, and figure too.
@@mightyasher Probably that's the thing with screech Except with rush I'm correct in that one, I died to rush 7 times because there wasn't a single hiding spot
Fun fact: with hot you actually don't have to turn around just walk back. not turning around makes to so much easier to beat I've done it many a time. Edit: and with Door 100 you can actually run past figure in the beginning and he will not get you
Pro tip: for halt you don’t need to turn around turning around will slow you down more so if you look forward the entire time and when he appears infront of you go backwards when he disappears go forwards its extremely easy and is faster because all my friends that beat the game are always slower doing that strategy so make sure to use this strategy as its easier and faster
