There's also something I'd like to mention: Ambush has a hitbox, a larger hit box than rush, slightly larger, and Ambush has a Raycast hitbox. Meaning it kills by distance and *LINE OF SIGHT.* So if you are within its hitbox, but not a bed or closet, you'd better pray you aren't within Ambush's line of sight. You can see how Ambush's hitbox works in some videos where RU-vidrs are very close to Ambush but they are hiding of the sides of closets, since they are covered by shadows, and out of line of sight, they are fine. This isn't really reliable though, since Raycast hitboxes aren't always perfect. So just hide, get out, hide, get and repeat until Ambush finally vacates you and departs your room. In my opinion, Ambush is one of the easiest monster, until you get past Level 50, where Hide, the entity who pushes you out of closets, appears more frequently. Also Jack, he's the monster that may appear when you open a closet, he scares and hinders the player. So, Rush, Hide, Ambush and Jack are all on a team. Also, Rushes sound when he is incoming is different to Ambush's sound. Don't get these two confused! The rest is in the video :).
This is an informative video concerning the entity: Ambush. Please follow this video tape to gain as much information as possible about the entity. "Ambush" is a ghost looking entity with two hollow black eyes and a beast mouth filled with razor blade teeth. Ambush's speed is extremely fast and no human is able to outrun it. The entity is able to instantly kill any player upon physical contact. The entity: Ambush, is distinguished with its radioactive greenish colour and its glitchy screams. The entity could appear in any room. In order to acknowledge its presence, players will witness quick lighting flickering and distant screaming upon entering a room. If players have witnessed any of the previous signs, seek any hiding spots immediately and enter it. After a few seconds, Ambush will quickly roam inside the room killing anyone that's not hiding instantly. Please repeat the same process until Ambush stops appearing. Ambush appears in a room between 2 - 6 times in a row, after the initial signs appear. Ambush will also destroy all the lights inside the room after the first roaming. So having a light source such as a lighter or a flashlight is advised. Please do not be confused between the entities: Ambush and Rush, as they are roughly the same entities with a slight difference. Thank you for watching this informative video. Have a great run and... Don't die :) Incase anyone wants to copypasta this.
you missed an important detail: upon an ambush leaving, you must get out of the closet or bed your hiding in, then get back in if you hear ambush coming again. because another entity, Hide, will kick you out of hiding if you dont, leading to a potential deadly fate.
as someone who got [AMBUSH] at room 16 once and was the only one that survived, the best thing to do to survive [AMBUSH] is to get out the locker when Ambush passes 2 times, and get in when you hear it until it gets tired. I also like the idea that he is radioactive and has razor sharp teeth but it could of been a slight more creepy if it had a body and it crawls past you extremely fast with multiple legs.
Wdym certain rooms. Ambush has a bigger hitbox than rush. Which means u cant do it although the vents one do work (Also this is the 382827282828th time that im first in your comment bruh, u need to stop commenting and make content, currently subbed)
‘Upon physical contact’ When ambush sees you, you are dead, but sometimes if you see him in a really hidden corner like behind a closet, you can see him without dying Note: do not stay close to wardobes near ambush’es path as he has a large hitbox for the line of sight
Also note that you can survive rush hiding in intersections e.g. (behind certain closets, or numberless rooms) but that doesn't work for ambush, ambush checks every intersection, so even if you don't see him behind a closet or a corner, you'll still die, the only ways I know of that you can survive ambush without hiding in the closet are vents, keg cellars, and beneath beds (these also work for rush)
This is correct, but it also has a hitbox of its own, it's not a huge hitbox like people's believe. Also remember that it's a line of sight not a circular range of sight. The line of sight also has a range but not infinite, so sometimes you can see it in a straight line but not for long.
Sadly after 25 runs i can confirm that the maximum amount of times ambush can repeat his attack is only 4 times back and forward included and any broken light bulbs or dark corners in a library do not allow screech to appear it is only when your in a pitch black room accompanied by a sound that tell you screech is in that room. I will say though that for some reason when rush and ambush enter a vent room and only a vent room it turn pitch black as if you were in a dark room so for those maybe bring a light i havn't encountered screech appearing in those rooms after rush or ambush passes but do it for your own safety but any other room is fine.
@@yeahlol well there's something they need to correct then isn't there. But i just wanted people not to get misinformation so if you got this from them i apologize if i seemed rude
when ambush exits the room the first time, get out and back in. he is extremely uncommon, though is more common in levels 80-90, almost guaranteed there. he has the same signs as rush
Tip: Don't use flashlight or lighter when ambush/rush break the lights because the game will spawn things such as lighters and batteries more often. This means that valuable items such as vitamins have a lower chance of spawning.
Also ambush can enter the room multiple times, so each time ambush gets out of the room your are in, get out of the place you are hdiding in and come back to the place you were hiding in once he has entered the room. This process can vary from 2 times to 4 times.
Ty so much, I didn't know anything about ambush having not seen him before in my life, he recked one of my runs as I expected him to be rush instead of ambush.
i feel like this would b apart of some lore, Like when the hotel workers would encounter ambush seek etc, they would make these VHS tapes for them? i dont really know but its really cool.
Another thing about ambush : it doesn’t matter if you hide or not, all you gotta do is literally look away from “it”, I’m pretty sure you get a badge from it when you first encounter ambush, you can hide in a corner,a closet,a bed,a vent, all these will help you “hide” from ambush, but it doesn’t matter because all you have to do is look away from ‘it’. (I’m not sure if I’m correct, I just seen multiple videos about “doors” and whatever someone encounters ‘ambush’ they look away or hide.)
I don't know where you got this information, but I'm 99% sure this is false, you have to hide in either a closet, vent, or beneath a bed to survive ambush (behind certain closets and the very back of a keg cellar works too)
In my opinion you should be able to rarely find tapes in the actual game that you could watch on a Old tv if you found one. Would be a nice addition for new players.
Useful fact: You don't need to hide to survive ambush or rush. You can go to subrooms, corridors, vents, stairs, as long as you are far enough away from the AI path. (The AI pathway is the shortest path from the starting door to the ending door.) The safest spots are subrooms, stairs, and vents. There's also riskier spots that you'll need to master. Knowing this is useful when playing with a lot of people. Also Rush and Ambush's hitbox is quite different. I'm not sure how it works but Ambush is more dangerous than Rush.
Fun fact: ambush and rush has way different design so you can tell if it's rush or bush if they ran past you ambush with the color of greenish white and rush being gray and gray only maybe a lil black but u can tell if it's ambush or rush even if ur in the closer just look for the color
my comment is informative to: Contrary to popular belief, Ambush's spawning isn't limited to later doors; as Ambush can rarely spawn as early as the fifth door, with it only getting more common the further the player goes. In each successful run, it is almost guaranteed that Ambush will spawn at least once. However, it is possible to complete the game without encountering Ambush. Hiding in a basement, air duct or a room with a blocked and/or fake up or down a stairwell can offer safety from Ambush. Ambush will never attack in a dark room or during Seek's crescendo. Unlike Rush, Ambush is able to jumpscare the player as long as the player is within Ambush's line of sight (i.e., There is a straight path between Ambush and the player with no obstructions). Ambush's hitbox operates off of ray casting. This means it is possible to hide from Ambush should the player remain out of its line of sight. The same is true for Rush, however the hitbox is smaller. This is how Ambush is able to jumpscare players while still in the previous room. Therefore, the player should try to find a closet that does not face the previous room in order to stay safe. This also means that some hiding spots that work for Rush do not work for Ambush. Before Ambush comes, the lights will flicker a bit more than usual. The player can confirm that they are about to encounter Ambush if they are hearing distant screaming. In addition, shortly after the lights flicker, the player will hear a very far screaming sound along with the sound of closets and drawers collapsing to the ground, before hearing loud screaming, which indicates that it is indeed Ambush. If the lights are flickering a lot longer than usual, then Halt is guaranteed to appear in the next room. If any player (solo or multiplayer) dies from Ambush, the game will display a button reading. “Wait until it is safe” on top of the revive button until Ambush leaves. This also may happen with other entities. Unlike Rush, if Ambush appears in a room with a ventilation shaft, it will bypass the locked door. his behavior: Ambush plays a low-pitched, distorted sound before it rushes into the room, screaming and breaking all the lights. However, it will backtrack through the rooms to catch any unsuspecting players, which can vary from 1-6 times. Ambush is also faster than Rush. Unlike Rush, the next door will not be opened. strategy: Since Ambush will come back multiple times[1], Hide is likely to kick the player out of any hiding spots they are in, which will likely result in death. To avoid this, the player should get in a hiding spot when Ambush is approaching, and leave it when Ambush retreats. The player should repeat this process every time the player can hear Ambush returning. Alternatively, the player can hide in a basement, air duct, or a room with a blocked stairwell.
fun fact the lights will flicker slightly longer than a rush encounter when it's ambush the lights will flicker for a long time when halt is in the next room
