Xbful1973 I loved whiplash today I'm in vegetable state I'm the real head banging energy trash metal fan I banged my head on poles doors cars jail cells and gave it my all bloody nightmare but it was worth it so bang that big mellon crank up the music and go for broke :/
James Black Kill em all is a classic I bought it because I play guitar and my buddy recommended it so my guitar style at the time was too fast to play with my friends . Mean while my best friend bought Metal Church some of the lyrics are mentally disturbing today my friend who bought metal church is still a very nice person but his view on life is very twisted ha ha Metallica has a new song Payback Is a Bitch but no one has heard of it maybe I heard it out of someone's mistake but it is like the kill em all album ;)
After Cliff's tragic death in 1986, the band interviewed dozens of bassists to find his replacement. They involved both of Burton's parents in the decision to choose Jason Newsted. Cliff's parents were present during the announcement, and after the band broke the news to Newsted, Burton's mother, hugged him tightly and said, "You are the one. Please, be safe." That is so epic and breathtaking.
@@sutiszorny8039 I just avoid social situations. (Except family) I live alone and I'm good with that. If you mean negative and cynical, that's totally me. Depression doesn't help

@@NoName-to5xl whether on good terms or not idk so i cant speak on that..but i can say i agree he DID deserve to be there especially with what hell they put him through ,taking out the anger of losing cliff, the amazing, out on jason...he experienced their biggest commercial success with black album and enter sandman specifically, and those touring years at an amazing time to be a musician when music was changing...so he paid his dues and im sure hell tell you despite the hazing it had to have been some of the best years musically for him...heres to ALL 3 bassists : Cliff the amazing, jason the hazed, and robert the guy from another cool band, who had the task of learning all those songs and being the 3rd try in that position in a band thats following is so big that if they dont like you your reputation would be tainted...anways yeah he deserved it lol
Uh! This whole thing was ecstasy overload. So many deep, beautiful and touching moments. And can we talk about the end part with all that talent and 'badassry' on that stage! All that 'all about tha bass' was like thunder in the room. Uh! Flea, Rob and Jason. Talk about 'clash of the Titans'. Plus all that shredding, lightning and vibe....OMG! Sensory overload.... Awesomeness galore.
+YoDawgoneeleven wow whatever happened to Dave Mustang he should have been in the ceremony right along with the rest of them bcuz he was one of the original ones like cliff Burton totally not cool
16:26 dude had not played with Metallica for a long time in that moment of their history and the second he walks up to microphone and everyone gave him nothing but cheers and love that shows how much of a impact newsted made and not only that how much people love him to death that part still amazes me to this day when I watch this
Jason was there for a good number of years, not only that... a shitload of touring and stardom during his time in the band. Black album is historic and fans got to know him, but really... it shows how far being nice will take a person. Its like Dave Grohl.. nice guy everybody likes him. Jason is the same kinda way.

What he said about music was beautiful, what he said about Cliff was just the truth! All jokes aside very high and well deserved praise from one of the best bassist.
@Scorpions yeah it ain't a big deal. That's what I meant by saying "he's not the father of metal". It's the way he treats others in shows, even other musicians, and the way their faces lit up when seeing him. He's always nice.. I actually don't know what we're arguing about here?
lol while i agree that Newsted is a great back up vocalist, i don't know if chanting the word DIE 30 something times would classify "truly amazing vocals"
Cliff was actually almost as good as Jason (watch some performances with him, his last DIEEEEEEEEEE during every Creeping Death performance is sick), but yeah, Jason was the best at backup vocals. Both were light years ahead of Rob and Kirk (the current setup) though. Ugh, Rob always sounds like he messes up the lines, and Kirk's voice is too high.

"Metallica live with audible bass" - dumbest comment ever. Metallica has always had audible bass live. AJFA was a studio recording. If you want to inform yourself as to what live Metallica with audible bass sounds like, with Jason playing said bass, then perhaps you should watch some live Metallica instead of tarnishing Jason's legacy with this garbage. I've seen them live 236 times I have almost every ticket stub , backstage passes programs and all kinds of souvenirs and they just keep getting better and better all the time
Wow, I found this surprisingly emotional! Flea's speech was amazing, so poetic. Cliff's dad was so sweet, plus James thanking his family brought a lump to my throat. I also loved that Jason was included, not only in the induction and the speeches but also the performance; I hope it was as healing for them as was for this fan. My favourite moment, though, was James thanking Lars and then the big hug! It made me so happy to see the real love after all their difficulties and pain. Love it!
Cliff is great god rest his soul, Rob best bass player, Jason “Newkid” Newsted is just what Metallica is, with his gritty voice and his sick Headbanging it’s a shame they mistreated him
I love the fact that they had a bass player induct them and 2 bass players playing live. EDIT: My comment was based upon the And Justice For All album that Lars had the bass pretty much removed from every song. See the video "and justice for Jason" on what the album should have sounded like with bass.
@@neddheadbedshedboom7805 technically there’s been 4 or 5 I think. Rob McGovney, Cliff, Jason, Rob. I believe there was one more temporary bass player not exactly sure I’m remembering correctly
“Rock n roll is about possibilities”. That was the sentence that stuck with me since this first got aired. Plus you have to appreciate the fact, that everyone had their speeches prepared. Lars just went for it and killed it.
Geeze I can't watch this anymore, I'm starting to tear up. If there is a band that deserves this its Metallica. I am now 40 and I was listening to them when I was in 7th grade.
i'm just 14 and fucking started to cry although i don't witness how they get this big to put it in a nutshell me an my band fucking love these guys BTW he's no puuy he's a man cause he git the balls to sheer it with us ;))
absolutely!! It's such an amazing idea. Let's share this with friends and family. what a tribute speaker he nailed it !~\|☆~☆♡♡ history of music so well said
Cliff's mother at 15:02 absolutely broke me. Such a tragedy. I can't begin to imagine what losing a child feels like. I'm so happy thst Cliff continues to live on in our hearts and will do so forever. Long live Metal. 🤘
They all deserve this, I love that they included Jason as well and I love the fact that they all performed in their suits/shirts instead of going to get changed first
No matter how old you get. Your kids will always be kids for you. Cliff's dad referred to them as young men. He is a class act! . God bless him and his late son. Hope they reunite in a better place. METALLICA RULES!!!!!
Metallica is the best. I'm from Malaysia. I have been a Metallica fan since 1986 when i was only 12 years old. Imagine how far their music has reached back then. With no internet or whatever. They really rocks.
Man Flea speech was straight to the point yet so articulate and hearty. James mood shifting from dad jokes at the beginning to eye tears was soemthing to see.
Me too. It reminds of Extreme Championship Wrestling, better known as ECW. That and The singapore cane swinging, beer guzzling, cigarette smoking ECW Hardcore Legend, THE SANDMAN.
Enter Sandman was what got me lifting weights. I went from being a fat slob to totally jacked, because when I heard that song I said hell yeah, I got a grab something heavy and start swinging it around
Seen tons of these hall of fame inductions, this was the first and only one that has ever brought tears to my eyes multiple times throughout the hour. Metallica forever and always. RIP Cliff Burton and condolences to the Burton family for their loss but they will always be in our hearts and forever be a part of Metallica because in life and in death, Cliff has moved so many of us with his talent and passion. Thankyou Jason and Rob for all you have and continue to do for this incredible phenomenon of a band and going above and beyond to ensure that the show must go on for the fans. What a powerful moment in rock n roll history. Thankyou Metallica, for being one of the best to ever do it
Love Metallica always will. Even did a book report when "And Justice For All" came out in high school, I got an A! Now 25yrs later and a professional, I still bring out my CD's and rock out like I did back then.
Thank you for your shared words! What a tribute to the families... what amazing speeches from all each band members... I'm so very glad to hear thier honestly... Love the words each shared how much they appreciate the weekend!!||▪︎♡{|○~~🎉❤▪︎♡'▪︎¤□ TABLE 32 us so cool music 🎶 🎵 families are so important to help create good
flea's speech conveys EXACTLY how i felt at my introduction to Metallica at 17 yrs old, sitting in my friend's basement playing his bootleg tapes, when "one" came on. my heart stopped. i have never heard anything like it- it was love at first note. That is Metallica. it grabs you at your core and you dont even know why. you finally found what you had needed all along, and from now on, you're going to be ok. they have saved my life in more ways than one, and i will be eternally grateful
Rip Jeff Beck. That guy was amazing.. Metallica will always be amazing too me. My greatest influence and inspiration, my favorite band of all time. Especially the earlier days.
Tears were brought to my eyes watching this. I first discovered Metallica at Wofford College basketball games when they used to play “Enter Sandman”. I didn’t fully get into them until I was in high school. Metallica has been there when I was sad. Metallica has been there when I was angry. Finally, Metallica has been there when I was happy. They are the ultimate band and I’d give every member a hug if I could. Thanks for the great tunes!
Seeing Rob and Jason playing bass together is incredible. I know Cliff Burton was Cliff Burton, but for those of us who grew up on 90's Metallica (although I love ALL Metallica) and into the 2000's, those are the two faces of Metallica on bass. LOVE Jason Newsted, and am SO happy they had him perform for this.
Thank you Metallica for your kickass music and bringing modern metal to the HOF🤘You guys always rock and the fans you bring are always rocking and loud! That balcony was proof of it. And Flea, what an awesome speech! Great words from the fans.
Jason Newstead saved Metallica twice. Once when joining, and once by leaving. Without these 2 acts by one man, Metallica would footnote in metal history. Justice for Jason. \m/
What an amazing speech ... Thank you for your shared words. I've never seen them perform so saving and share this with friends and family, so this amazing inv group of guys are ne er forgotten ... that thanks you list all the words
