There is no better guitarist for Bon Jovi than Richie. The chemistry he had with John, his vocals, his song writing . I have never seen any guitarist that had as much charisma and love for what he was doing. When I watched him play it was as though he was “making love” to his guitar (not in a sick way), he pulled me into the emotions he was feeling as he played. THAT is what I miss the most. Plus the chemistry.
I agree with everything you just said with the exception stating the chemistry he “had” with JBJ.. no doubt Richie’s departure was anything but amicable but we all know they promised when they started the band that they would not air dirty laundry in public and to keep it in the “family” and they are one of the few bands that kept to that oath. That being said I really believe Richie will be back sooner than later because they are just that. Family, brothers for life and I don’t think they can really function without each other. They all fed off each other when it came to writing all those opuses that gave us memory’s for life. I think hands down best band in the world. I can’t think of one other band that had the amount of number one hits that are as timeless. They have so many love songs that went number 1 they could make 3 full albums.. who does that? So good. Richie will be back jamming next to JBJ for sure.
@@maverick744 Richie actually confirmed a few weeks ago that he’ll be back to performing and recording with the band as soon as Jon gets his voice together.
Neil Boughton well, it’s very simple. Richie is not coming back into the band. Don’t know whether you read it on the internet, but when the Because We can album was touring, he got caught rocking up late at a concert and it was the decision made that Jon Bon kicked him out of the band. I mean, it’s great to see him on this video, but yeah, just saying. I don’t think that he will ever be apart of the band again.
Jackson Dunkley that was a rumor. Jbj and Richie both shut that rumor down. Richie made the decision to not show up because he couldn’t handle the lifestyle anymore and wanted to be with his daughter
Richie left the band because his daughter and mom needed him. He has a fashion company too that needed his attention as well. He couldn't handle being on tour anymore. I've heard that right from Richie Sambora in an interview. Yes, it's sad that he's not in the band anymore. I love Bon Jovi. Been a fan since 1984. I'm ALWAYS going to buy and listen to them!! Bon Jovi forever!
For all those who love the band, this ceremony meant a lot. Seeing all the band members together again as a team was very exciting. Especially the end of "When We Were Us", with the complicity of Jon and Richie...like in the old times. I feel very nostalgic. They're legendary. Long live Bon Jovi!
I've was in a band as lead vocalist back in the 90s. We didn't have huge shows or very big tours but we had some great shows and even an europe tour. I must say that singing for more than 2 hours is really difficult and not a lot of people can do it. After 1hour and 30 minutes of singing rock yoir voice starts feeling weak and the power in it simply dissapears. Singing the high notes become harder and harder. The next morning after the show you can barely speak. It's imposible for a singer to sing the same as when he was young and believe me i know what i's saying. For those who say john can't sing anymore or that his concerts after 2013 became a shitty experience just try to sing for a month 2 hours daily. You will see how hard is it. Also during a concert you can't use the studio vocal techniques because you have to be sure that your voice will resist for 2 hours. Many singers don't push their voice at the limit in the concerts so they can finish it. They can do better but they choose not to destroy their voice. Next time you say Jon's voice is horrible try to do a concert with his music and see if you can sing like him. (You won't)
he never had the correct technique to start with the majority of his voice issues came from straining his voice too much with knowledge how to maintain it yes, it would've aged, but it could've aged well...
@@ostankovalex1176 But if he did it "correctly" we never would have gotten the music that we did. We loved the fact that he was straining his voice like he did in "Living on a prayer" and there's a reason that nobody else sounds like that, people care about their voices and don't want to fuck them up. Jon didn't know better but it gave us some of the best and biggest rock hits.
@@vladimirgertner3960 not exaclty true he has some good stuff that is sung correctly. He just destroyed his voice doing incorrect stuff. Also, it would be great anyway and there are all chances, it would even sound better in general. And the albums starting from Crush would not be voice dead.
@@Picturestoyou no, for me Is Better Richie, he was the second Singer, the best guitarrist, he was the second frontman, he was Simply the best of all time!
Rest in peace, Alec John Such! I really hoped to see him make special guest appearances with the band here and there, since this performance, but sadly, that can never happen.
I just realized, after watching this: Jon is not just a great performer, musician or a great looking guy, but a GREAT humble, grateful, intelligent, caring, supercharismatic and wonderful human being!! What a long but beautiful speech, giving praise to all entitled so gracefully. When he got a standing ovation, man...I could cry with him. What a well deserved induction for him and the guys: Congratulations Bon Jovi!
@jabba2000ad Yes, i was fortunate too, saw them in the 80's on their Slippery tour in Holland. But I think you are responding to their performance, while I was referring to his speech only.
BROUGHT BIG TEARS TO ME WHEN HE THANKED HIS WIFE. IT IS A HARD LIFE TO BE ON THE ROAD. THE L❤️VE JON HAS FOR HIS HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART, HIS LIFE, HIS EVERYTHING.
I saw Bon Jovi twice. The first time I saw him crying up against a wall because he had nothing more to give. The second time, he was on top of the world. And deserves the nomination to the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame.
Can you hear those licks? The blues? That "Its My Life" My god ... Those backing vocals? - That's Richie Sambora! as a big old fan he will be back - He has to come back - Its time for Bon Jovi to go full circle and dare I say, end this ride on a 40 year high 💪
I've been saying for a couple of years now that they should do a ten date run in the US and maybe 10 dates in Europe as the original line up, no Phil X, no Shanks and no Everett Bradley. Sadly Alec has passed but get Richie back in for that last run and retire. Even though Jon's voice is shot to pieces in 2022 it would be great to see.
The fact that David Bryan, who was suffering from COVID-19, did the opening for us, and ONLY him, was truly amazing, if you’re reading this David, God bless you and I hope you get better, and god bless you Bon Jovi band mates, you’ve made 80% of the 90s for me
Richie could have been like a great lead vocal too (in my opinion) ... but he didn’t attempt to steal that spotlight from JBJ .. has just been like a support when he thinks Jon needs him ... he has left the group not because of jealousy or money but already reached the peak and just now want to chill and just self actualizing about the great ride it has been for him ... Rock on for Richie!
I've just watched this in 2022 and had a mini concert by myself. Vino - check Mood lighting - check The band I grew up listening to - check I found myself watching this tonight as my partner likes to tell me Bon Jovi are S#i! We've been together 27 years and he is a big Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Phil Lynott fan. Tonight, whilst watching this I reminded him of the year his Mum sadly passed away, 2011. I'll give him his due, through his grief he still accompanied me to Bon Jovi at Old Trafford in Manchester, England. I had bought seated tickets but decided I wanted to be among it so we made our way to the ground and stood with many people in the pouring rain, I mean pouring rain! My water proof was not worth the money!! Forgetting the rain, I found myself engulfed in the tunes I love and have listened to for so many years. My partner seemed to be enjoying himself, maybe just tolerating things for me. The guitar started and I knew immediately it was "Always", I immersed myself in the rain and my emotions but then looked to my partner, who by this point was stood in the middle of Old Trafford, in the rain, listening to a band he told me are S#i! crying his heart out. He has said so many times that he needed the rain and the song to let his emotions out. So, I say peeps, sometimes just listen to the music, forget the normal, explore things different and let your emotions run with the tide.
I love the friendship that they have, even after all this time!!! But I got emotional when Jon brought up Richie leaving the band in 2013!!! I'm happy Bon Jovi got inducted, but as a newfound fan, it's taking me a while to get used to Richie not being there anymore!
My favorite American Band, my first singer crush, BonJovi!! Just as great as always! I wish I had caught more of them at The Monsters of Rock concert in Mannheim Germany but hey I was in my 20's, in the military, and unfortunately didn't wake up in time to see the whole thing but did manage to make it to front just as they were exiting the stage! Only concert I have ever been to in my life. The next concert I go to I would love to have my favorite American Group and my favorite Korean group Stray Kids there. It could be like East meets West or something like that! Now that would be a concert I would spend my last dollar on to be sure to see!! I am glad Bon Jovi finally received the recognition they deserve!! Great job guys!!
Still the best live band all these years later. Always saw them when they played in Philly. Long live the Spectrum. Will never forget taking my at the time teenager sister to her first ever concert to see Bon Jovi, think she cried through most of it and throwing her Hall’s cough drops at Jon to get his attention lol…it didn’t work but we still talk about it all these years later. A Bon Jovi concert was always a great time. Thank you gentleman, you still have the magic.
Overdue. And two other words come to mind; Thank you, Bon Jovi, for being my childhood and continuing to be my adulthood. To me, there’s no such a thing as music in my life if it weren’t for the Bon Jovi band. Forty years strong and still going! Keep on keeping on, Gents’! We love you so much! 😭❤️
God willing Richie will come back to the band and I will still watch you guys playing together with him. Congratulations for the tribute you deserve. Brazil loves you.
Really do those old people sitting in the audience while the band is up there kicking ass and they are out sitting like lumps and not singing realize that millions of other old people(myself included 54) would give and arm and a leg to be there and would be singing every word along with the band.....some of those OLD people got too spoiled.....your fans would have been up and rocking.....we love y'all...............From Houston Texas............fan since 1985.
@@111highgh I agreed with U they had 1 good album "slippery when wet" & a couple good songs on "New Jersey" like the song "bad medicine" then "Days of Glory" then they died. I just seen them in concert in 1986 & 1989 & they were great but they were done. They don't deserve a wing
The real fans will never forget the Richie Sambora. Good to see him put the band on his back again. His vocals were second to none that night. His best performance of it’s my life in a long time. Made when we were us a real Bon Jovi song. And hitting the prayer high notes just made my jaw drop. We miss you Richie, can’t wait for the new album
KaKAuKo ge was great too, but he didn’t have the same impact Richie did, especially considering him and Hugh both played on the early albums in studio. That said Alec’s vocal harmonies and falsettos were missed severely. The magic Jon Richie Alec and David could make with their voices is unmatched
Bert Sonder I love Phil, but IMO, this wasn’t his time. I kind of wish that it was just the guys who were getting inducted. Phil and Everett Bradley are absolutely amazing talents. I do prefer Richie to Phil, but Phil has some amazing moments. He covers AC/DC vocals better than anyone I’ve seen and he can shred, just in a different way than Richie shreds
Bravo a vous tous et pour votre réussite. Continuez comme ça. La France vous aime et aime le rock'n'roll comme vous faites. Yes . Keep playing rock'n'roll ✌️🔥✌️🔥✌️🎸🥁🎸🎤😍
By far my favourite version of "when we were us"! Just love it and watch it since that night every now and then! Seeing JBJ&RS together makes me smile everytime :D
I love Jon Bon Jovi. He's one of my all time favorite rocker. I just love him and the whole band. Jon and his music pulled me out of a bad time in my life and. I so thank him and all the guys of Bon Jovi for that. I will forever be a fan. Bon Jovi are legends and Jon is a legend and should be in the Hall of Fame. Well deserved. I got to see Bon Jovi and that was the best concert I ever went to. Love the band Bon Jovi and I love you Jon. ~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~♡♡♡♡♡♥♥♥♥😍😘😘😘😗😙
Oh please! He abandoned Jon, the band, the record company, and the fans! Including you! And he put Philip X in a jam! What good is that talent if people can't depend and rely on him? Don't get me started
GREAT JON BON JOVI!!!! I'm an old Italian woman, so I was not Jon's fan in youth, but now that I know him I wish to express my appreciation not only for the great handsome performer, voice. lyrics, but also for the personality of a real good, significant, agreable, careful, responsible guy .... all the qualities we dream to share in family and society. Congratulations JON, YOU ARE LEGEND!!!
Said so, sorry to add Jon, that I reject totally👎 the Biden Clan, Obama, Clinton, Great Reset👿OMS and their sperimental vaccinations 😷of million of people, also to your kids Jon!!!. I had Covid, but I've refused forced vaccination, I don't believe in material health. We are more spiritual beings💓than bodies🫀..
Well said couldn't agree more I am truly proud to be afan of jon and bon jovi at last a person in a rock band that talks sense a true gentleman on and of stage and thanks for all the charity work they Partake in and do not brag about soul kitchen food banks etc
Love you guys still after almost 40 yrs. Best band ever. Even at my age of 69, jon birthday is 4 days after mine. He and I grew old together. I even have my car with a Bond jovi sticker, and front license Plate that say Bon Jovi. Love them dearly !!!!!
Felt so nostalgic! I was also there! As a 36 yr old man, I'm glad to say Jon's is still good. Richie is gone from the band but is still my favorite since late 80s and early 90s. ♡♡♡
Guess you didn't watch the original version before Jon was Auto-tuned? It's brutal, Jon really can't sing at all anymore, sadly. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Oixyd0-kxNA.html
I wish you guys could play together again with Alec and Richie Sambora. You rock all together. Love you guys soooooo much. JON you are still the great love of my life ❤❤❤
These guys are part of my life. I love so much this band for more than 20 years. I feel sooo proud of them! They deserved and I vote every single day for they to be inducted. I wish they could had play wanted dead or alive😢.... Jon and Richie are perfect together ❤. I thought after that, Richie would be back...
Dang!! Seeing Sambora and JBJ sharing the microphone like that on, “When we were Us” was almost too much to take! The fact that they were able to place their differences to the side for this one night- so grateful! It’s like seeing your parents co-parent well after a divorce to both be at the wedding- Too bad the divide between them seems to have created an irreparable harm in terms of reuniting fully/always/completely but hey- at least all of us in the extended family got to see them “dance together” at the wedding for the sake of all of us💝💝 They had something special- I pray that if it’s meant to be that a full healing and repair of their relationship can happen; maybe some day
Here I am, four years later, crying again my heart out to this! I love this band so much, it's one of the most important things in my life! They are a really big part of who I am, wouldnt be here without these guys lyrics and melodies
I'm watching this and seeing Richie and Jon on the stage together with smiles on their faces and singing. Trust me..."Tears of happiness and a huge smile on my face!"
