I followed your advice and tried to write my essay BEFORE watching the video. I hope it is good enough to make me get the score I need. What Do you think about it ?? Thank you very much for this lesson :). Nowadays Universities around the world s offer a wide range of courses and it may be a challenge itself, for a student approaching the system for the first time, to orientate properly. Science fields are not always preferred, although, from the number of people attending that type of courses depend on the development of dramatic issues which affects our contemporary times. The education system plays a crucial role in affecting society. While it is generally assumed how important is to involve progress in science, it could be said that a misconception lies between the young people commencing university for the first time. How are students supposed to try a scientific research career if they are told it will be incredibly difficult to find employment in that field? Therefore, universities have been expanding the teaching market over the years, introducing and promoting several courses around law and engineering. It would seem that science ( meaning for it each research disciplines such as Anthropology or Sociology ) has been left behind. Moreover, science scholarships lack investments by universities partners and governments, making it even more complex for young people to attend such courses. This reflects professional scientists work, which famously suffers from low dedicated funds. Consequently, the biggest impact relies on the employment rate. The labour market is exacerbated by professionals who simply can not use their skills because of the lack of employment. Thus, law or engineering graduates have huge difficulty in finding a work position and are often forced to move to other countries, looking for better opportunities. While graduated in science can hardly approach the work position they studied for. The result is the increasing general disoccupation and the slowness progress in science research In conclusion, if universities and National institutions’ expenditure would be invested more in science degree programs, it would greatly encourage students to start their science careers, in order to contribute to the development of knowledge worldwide.

Thanks a lot Asiya mam for this subject. I know my ideas are totally different than yours but as you mentioned the ideas can vary but has to be relevant to the topic. So I tried it, pls check and give your feedback, I would be highly grateful. Science plays a crucial role in today’s modern life by all possible ways. Involvement of science can be seen in normal daily activities too like from taking healthy diets to exercise daily for being fit to getting medication for a mild headache or for any severe disease. Many students around the world still does not choose Science as the subject while studying in University. Despite of such great significance and contribution of the Science, why students are reluctant in choosing Science as their field. In this essay, we will discuss the reasons for this and the effects of same in our society in the subsequent paragraphs. One of the main reason for students opting for Arts, Business over Science in university is due to the difficulty level. We, human beings especially young ones, want to opt for easy paths mostly than a difficult one because we want everything in our careers best, fast and something which is as easy as cakewalk. For example, one person will choose to become a Business manager rather than a Scientist today as he know that the degree/ course he require to become a manager for Business is not that difficult as compared to what one require to become a scientist or medical expert. In the same way, the whole process of becoming a scientist is time-consuming plus requires a lot of efforts too. For example, my nephew when given a chance to opt for Science as main stream above Business and Arts, clearly preferred to choose Business as his subject for further study in the university basis duration of this course and difficulty level. This is a common practice nowadays among youngsters. As a result, Indian Society has oversupply of Lawyers or Managers and the deficit of Science professionals. Another main reason is students opting for Science as main field in the University either has to be from sound financial background or very brilliant in studies in order to afford even to get a seat in medical colleges or Science related degrees. Everyone cannot afford expensive courses for studying science related courses or medical field. Hence they compromise by taking other field subjects like Business, law as subjects for further study in university. For instance, our neighbor’s son is very brilliant and got good grades in Senior Secondary in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However, the family could not afford to pay the hefty fees for a seat charged by medical college, thatswhy he dropped his idea of choosing science as main stream for university education. Most young aspirants in our society dreams to become a doctor or medical practitioners but not capable to meet with the financial aspects involved in these courses, these young fresh graduates do not even wish to step into the science faculty which is relatively expensive than other streams. To conclude, it seems some young students resist on selecting science as main subject for higher university education due to the time duration, cost involved and difficulty level of science courses and apparently choose Business, Law or Arts over science. Thus, too many opt for a degree in Business or Arts, creating an imbalanced society with influx of Business Management Graduates struggling to find a suitable job .

My answer: It has recently been found out that not enough students are leaning toward science subjects compared to other majors. There are several reasons for this issue that will be put forward in following paragraphs. First, the ongoing downward trend in employment markets for science majors is one major reason that less and less students would like to major in science. A recent research paper on this topic has shown that students precisely and meticulously look at the employment rate after graduation for different majors and make their decision not only based on their interests, but also on chance of finding job after finishing their studies. Further, due to recent spikes in tuition fees for majors specialized in using laboratory equipment and facilities such as science and medicine, less students are willing to spend such a money for their education. Digging more into this issue, it was found that primary reason for tuition fees spikes is related to supply chain shortages, i.e., lack of commodities. Considering the fact that students are supposed to conduct experiments in labs in second and third years, these tuition spikes in science majors are not affordable for most of students. Last but not least, as less students major in science there might be a problem in next years for societies which have lack of experts in related fields. Indeed, a well-cited research paper has shown that as least number of applicants have been seen in these majors for last 5 years, less professionals are going to enter society in current decade. Furthermore, this will lead to more number of unsolved problem for societies with less number of science experts. As an outcome, less number of students have been majoring in science owing to sudden increases in tuition fees and high unemployment rates for related graduates. Also, a recently published research paper has revealed that less students major in science, more uninvestigated issues in will remain in these fields.

I would suggest you stop consuming a lot of reviews, videos and strategies. Follow a tutor and be laser focused on what he/she teaches. Build a strong bound with the tutor's style, follow a single advice and strategy at a time. It'll help to eliminate the fear and perplexities you're experiencing. When you've developed high confidence in a strategy then you can look out for other reviews just to see what else you can add.

Hi, I tried to write before looking at your answer, I am looking forward to your response.thanks Education plays a vital role in everyone’s life. There are several subjects to study. However, it completely depends upon an individual, which ones he chooses to pursue his career. Apparently, it has been seen that a large number of students avoiding science subjects, and there are multiple reasons behind this. As a result, our society is being affected badly. The first and foremost reason is, “Expense”. While looking at fee structures of courses, one can easily notice the difference between science subjects and others, which abandon a plethora of students to select them. For instance, one of my friends, who had a keen interest in science subjects, could not take because of the expensive fees structure. Secondly, the lack of practical work. Although science subjects are interesting, but without practical experience, it is really a cumbersome task. Being a science student, it was very hard for me to study without the real-life experience of topics. These two are the predominant causes of the lacking number of students in the science field. As a result, our society, where almost everything is directly or indirectly related to science, is getting negatively impacted. For example, from light to transportation vehicles, scientists have played a mandatory role to make them more efficient and affordable for us day by day, but now in research centers, there is a tremendous loss of scientists to perform duties, need to get results, expected on time. There are several projects pending just because of a lack of mankind. In a Nutshell, among various reasons, these two, which mentioned above, are major. If universities would reduce fees and make efforts to provide more practical apparatus to students. This issue would be solved to a large extent.

It is obvious that the number of students that often pursue science related courses in various universities globally are always fewer than required. This is because some people are of the mentality that science related courses are very complex and difficult to study whilst others argue that such subjects conflicts with their religious and moral beliefs. This has negatively impacted our society by creating a shortage of professionals in science-related job sectors, fuelling unemployment rate and hindering economic development. Due to its high cognitive and psychological demand, many students avoid science related courses when choosing university subjects which mostly determines their career paths. It has been recorded over the years that most students who couldn’t make the required passes in various science courses often attributed their failures to the subject’s complicated nature. This has discouraged many people, even those with passion for science, from undertaking such courses. Also, the numerous contradictions between most Science theories and other religious beliefs deter people with strong religious backgrounds from studying anything concerning science. They avoid science subjects in order to protect their religious sanity, moral conducts and spirituality. However, this development is causing more harm to our society than good. Many science related-related sectors can’t provide quality services humanity due to inadequate trained professionals. For example, in 2021, over 15 countries in the western world released a critical occupation shortage list for healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, etc from all over the world, this was due to lack of adequate healthcare personnels in their countries. Furthermore, the fact that many people choose other courses with fewer employment opportunities over science related courses makes it hard for them to secure jobs after their studies, leading to increased rates of unemployment in our society. This also takes a toll on economic development as most unemployed graduates seeks government support, the moneys paid to them can be used for other developmental purposes if they were not unemployed. In my opinion, science is a very essential part of humanity, without science our world is doomed. Therefore, every subject in universities should have a bit of science included. This will help boost scientific knowledge, reduce ignorance and unemployment rates.

Hi Asiya , Students may want to be an entrepreneur by owing the business rather than being an employee of an MNC , sometimes they often get impressed by the success stories of big business tycoons, Another major reason could be that science often considered as the toughest among all subjects why because it requires deep or inside theoretical as well as practical knowledge hence students opt the easiest subject.

Reasons for the problem would be: - Stuidents are overwhelmed by the idea of pursuing the invention of new things and that may be very hard to tackle and the pursuit of knowledge may be too vast - People have the misconceptions that science programmes mean they will be stuck in a lab for most of their lives. Impacts : - There will not be any new creations that can better our society - as well as the fact that when new problems arise that require research and experiments, we don't have anyone available?

Hi Asiya.. Thank you so much for ur guidance. Can you please evaluate this essay? The decision a student makes to select their pathway of higher study often becomes a major factor that shapes his or her future. The ultimate goal of studying is usually associated with several different achievements in the future. A common opinion is that less number of students select Science as their major over other subjects such as Business Management, Arts, and Low. The fundamental reason for this can be described as obstacles the students face during fulling their achievements when they follow the science stream. Some good illustrations of the problems associated with science modules are substantial workload and assignments to obtain significantly higher marks. Additionally, it’s difficult to find a job in the professional field of science even after completing the degree with a distinct pass. Moreover, it’s generally accepted that occupations with a background in commerce or low pay considerably higher salaries than that from science training. For an instant, researchers have suggested that seeking a job title with a higher salary scale is common among youngsters from several developing countries including Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh. Unfortunately, this choice of students at universities lead to negative consequences. Firstly, there will be a lack of professionals to match the job market. Lack of adequate qualifications for a job will possibly affect the outcome of many sectors including Health and Education; hence affecting the economy of a country. Moreover, the situation creates unwanted competition among students following non-science subjects at universities and ultimately leads to the alteration of the job market in a while. In conclusion, the trend of dropping science subjects at universities can consider a growing trend in some countries. Corrected actions and suitable alterations should implicate by the government to reduce the negative impact of this matter on the people and society in foreseeable future.

Hi Asiya, kindly evaluate my essay. i have my exam coming up in a couple of days. (word count 330 words) Studying in an esteemed university is considered to be a prestige by the parents of the pupils, out of the subjects available especially science subjects are given more importance by the parents. However, not many students nowadays go for them. The rationale behind the same and its aftermath on the society will be discussed. Most of the students do not opt for science field for higher education since the tuition fees are expensive, course is lengthy and also hectic. Science is not a subject of the weak hearted as it requires a lot of dedication, perseverance and passion. This is because it is a very long and difficult course, most of which require studying for almost half or entire life. Therefore, mainly the bright students or a determined students only mainly go for it. In addition, the course fees can dig a hole in ones pockets because of which most of the science students end up paying hefty depts their entire youth or working part-times tiring shifts. This is very consuming for most of them, as a result they are not able to enjoy their youth and remain stressed constantly. Hence, the majority of the freshers do not prefer taking it up. Consequently, there will be less jobs and competition, eventually resulting in decreased economic growth. As science is an emerging field and an integral part of our lives and required in most of the occupations, fall in the number of graduates will lead to decreased job opportunities. Jobs will reduce drastically as most of the science graduates have an entrepreneurial potential. Eventually the per capita income of the country will decrease leading to an economic crisis if the same continues for long. In conclusion, insufficient students choose science field in universities because of the time-consuming draining course which is also uneconomical. As a consequence, there will be issues related to employment prospects which will in turn lead to reduced per capita income and finally economic crisis in a long-term.

As the generation is progressing, the perspective of people for their career have changed, and people are opting mojorly for the subjects which they enjoy. Hence, they end up choosing arts or commerce as their study subjects at University. At large the impact on society would be that there won't be enough professionals involved in scientific fields which will lower the scientific research and development activities.

An increasing number of modern-day students are choosing to pursue careers in business, arts and other non-science subjects rather than the sciences. Although each individual’s decision is different, the most common reason may be the high cost of attendance. Obtaining a college degree in the sciences from a private institution is at an all-time high. As a result, not many parents can afford these high tuition fees and students are required to pick an alternative major. However, higher tuition fee is not the only factor that affects the students’ decision. Some students find obtaining a degree in subjects like Physics and Biology stressful. They do not want to be overwhelmed with studies, rather are looking to enjoy their college experience travelling and hanging out with friends. Thirdly, some non-science fields like Business Education, for instance, have grown significantly over the years and there has never been a better time to start your own business. With funding made simpler by many potential investors, students are starting their own businesses everywhere. Plus, more and more students are now interested in majoring in International Developments to learn about how multinational business organisations operate around the globe. But is this shift beneficial for the society as a whole? A drought in science majors is alarming as it is likely to slow down the technological advances. Less research in the fields of astronomy would result in less development of new and efficient ways of space exploration. In conclusion, we need to encourage and inform the younger generations of the plethora of opportunities in the sciences and remind them that science is the way we will evolve and survive in this new complicated world order.

At the other hand , it may be related to student's interest and what are their passion in their life .

Hi Asiya, Here is the essay: Can you please leave your remarks: The number of students opting for science stream at University is decreasing across the whole world. The primary factors contributing for the same are shift of interest from science to arts with the rise of social media awareness and poor employment opportunities in science field. The society is however suffering therefore by losing the number of scientists and researchers. Major reason for the issue is that students have started taking more interest in arts these days. We have more number of painters and artists coming up. Earlier, there was not a lot of communication with students about possible outcomes of Arts, and they usually pushed themselves to study science, hoping that science will provide them with amazing passionate career, but now, social media has made it possible for students to explore the right opportunity for them. Another factor is that even after completing the science course, and spending hours working hard to pass those exams, students are not able to land in a good job. For instance, In India, the average salary of a science student post university study is only 20k/month, whereas the average Indian is paid more than 28k/month post their graduation. The communities across the globe are having a direct effect of this shift. In the national laboratories, there are insufficient scientists, who could conduct research on new advancements, and render with exponential growth in the country, in terms of discoveries and inventions. For example, the number of inventors recorded in 2003, were 12000 globally, however this number reduced significantly to 9000 by 2023. In conclusion, it can be deduced that having more number of people interested in science is critical to not only the growth of the country but also for the future of that nation, thereby conducting more science fairs and improving pay in science sector.

First off, expensive course fee associated with science subjects keep students away from following science subjects at universities. This is because course fees of non science subjects are relatively less than that of science, forcing undergraduates to follow them over science base subject.

Someone once said science is the study of nature. A major population students nowadays around the world still opt not to choose science subjects at university due few obvious reasons. One of the main issue why people don’t opt it is that everyone is unique and have different personality traits. That is the very reason everyone has inclination towards different subjects. The other prominent reason being that students find it tough to understand as it is a demanding subject. This impacts the research sector of our society if we had developed this sector earlier we could have defeated the pandemic in an organised and effective way with time considerations

Reason 1 science subjects are quiet complicated and encompasses lots of dedication therefore not everybody is able to do this successfully ;Reason2 some students mostly indulge in art and sport activities rather than science and want to join this non-academic activities . EFFECT1 decline of scientists in number EFFECT2 THEY WILL NOT CAPABLE OF UNDERSTANDING BASIC SCIENCTIFIC INFORMATION AND WILL NOT ABLE TO INSTILL THIS ABILITIES ON THEIR CHILDREN IN THE FUTURE

I think, the last sentence in your conclusion paragraph has some redundancy . "Educated: and "Skilled" somehow give a similar sense of meaning. I would rather use 'appropriate' or 'suitable' instead of 'skilled'/.

Hi Asiya, It is argued that the W-Task2 as mentioned in the question must contain examples. How would you justify that? Do examples have to be marked with words, for example? BTW, my writing where my friends claim that I should add more examples below. There is a declining interest in the streams of science in the centers of higher education. Such an inclination can potentially be detrimental to society in the longer run, as any innovation in the disciplines of health, defense or engineering is only possible when more such students are encouraged. It is quite evident from the increasing number of seats that remain vacant in the fields of science and technology across the globe, that students nowadays are not taking interest in the technical subjects. Moreover, a major proportion of the top institutes of the world offer admission to foreign students in such fields, only to attract more occupancy of seats. Additionally, they offer scholarships, fellowships and promise of co-ops or internships for science graduates just to lure them. There are two main reasons for the unpopularity of science subjects among students of higher learning, compared to other disciplines. Firstly, it is difficult to comprehend these subjects, as it demands much more involvement from students to write a thesis, research papers, and perform practical in gloomy laboratories. Secondly, the lifestyle of a scientist is ought to be very simple as they have to dedicate much of their life in research, they work in close rooms with machines, and consequently, they hardly have any time for entertainment. This dramatic shift can have damaging repercussions for the society, as there will be a dearth of medical practitioners at times of need and fewer inventions on account of lesser engineers. To exemplify, at times of crisis, pandemic, or natural disaster the world realizes the cost of a shortage of doctors or the need for scientific research in the areas of medical science and engineering. In addition to that, it adds to dependency on foreign imports for any innovation. This might result in less investment in the country causing a poor economy. In conclusion, the declining interests in the fields of science can result in serious damage to society, as there will be lesser opportunities of innovation to support the country.

Hi Asiya, I did pause and attempted the question; please review Globally, number of students going to university to study science subject have been falling drastically. It has been reported that the fall in the science going students is due to the level challenges and expected hardship of course is not rewarded greatly into the society when they are graduated. Also, there ample amount of science experts and graduates already in the workforce has become a saturation in the field of science and technology. Recently, many studies have been reported that more globalisation and overcrowded fields have shifted the focus of students to the more innovative and potential career education such as, animation, modelling, photography and etc. Perhaps, the lesser number of science graduates would bring contingency to the level of expertise in to the near future and will cause a block to the developing ideas and innovations helping the countries around the world to develop. Certainly, the shifted focus to the students from the science is started to impact all of us as society already. Personally, I being a healthcare worker have constantly battled with shortfall of trained staffs in the healthcare settings such as hospitals, research centres and health delivery system. In conclusion, more of the younger generation should reflect on the brighter side of having a strong knowledge of science and technology which can be utilized for the betterment of mankind. Choosing to study in the field of science will be the first step towards the success in future.

Hi Asiya! I hope you really respond to my answer Most of the students prefer Arts and mathematics over science at the university level due to a myriad of reasons and thus this arises significant controversies in favor and against it in the community. This essay will discuss those causes and will illustrate their substantial impacts on an integral part of society. In addition to this, it will include the practicable options which could help to decrease the effect of this. Science has been not opted as the preferred subject to study at the graduate level due to the complexity involved in it. Moreover, this subject requires a number of essential factors, for instance, high skills set, the commitment of time from hectic schedules and the expensive cost of training. All the above reasons make science least recommended subject among the students, therefore, reduces the student enrollments into it. Science is regarded as one of the necessary fields for the nation’s development due to its contribution through the field of research and innovations. If fewer members of the young generation take part in it, consequently the country will lack the talent in that field and it has to depend on other Nations for the research and discoveries that would be an expensive and tiresome process to accomplish. Furthermore, it will have dire consequences on the country’s economy as it requires a prominent amount of funding. To meet the nation’s requirement the government needs to take necessary actions, such as providing scholarships, loans to the students, and also by providing the placement or employment opportunities, so that in the future, the nation should not face the scarcity of talent in the Science field.

Hi Asiya, here is my Essay, please let me know what you think of it and how many bands I could get for it? In the contemporary world, people are free to choose the subject that they want to study at university. In recent years’, as per the figure, fewer students are opting out for Science as a subject. In the below-mentioned paragraphs, I will provide sufficient affirmation that that will shed light on the rationale why it is happening and what will be the repercussions of it on the community. To embark on if we see the previous five years data, there is a surge of new enrolments in the science stream, having said that, it increased the number of science pass-outs for the upcoming years, which will eventually hit the market, thereby increasing competition. In addition, as we all know by the demand and supply concept that if the supply will increase and there is no demand, lastly, it will increase unemployment. Frustrated people will guide the new generation not to enroll in science, as it is not trending at the time. Moreover, as science itself is somewhat difficult as compared to arts and commerce, very few people opt for it. For instance, I myself will not push my child to study science because I am one of those exasperated people who did not get a job in the field of my study. I will surely guide my child to go for either arts or commerce. As per my understanding and knowledge, there would not be any significant impact on the community. As in the past, abundant people have been graduated from the stream that we do not need to worry for a decade in this regard. Only a handful number of quality science graduate people would suffice for the social development needs. To recapitulate, we all must study our passion whether it is science, arts or commerce, despite these three choices there are a lot of practical options we could choose from. We must not force the future generation what to study, we must let them thrive where they want to.

Hi, Asia! Thank you for your videos. Here is my answer. I am looking forward to seeing your response. 1. To begin with, science is a difficult subject for many students, as it requires good knowledge and patience to learn new information every single day. Beside this, it takes a plethora of time to gain experience to become a great scientist. That's why a better half of students choose easier subjects. 2. Another reasonable issue for not opting to science is that students do mot have any willings to immerse themselves into this sphere. That can be because they do not comprehend the necessity of science in our days.

The issue of not enough students choosing science subjects to study at a university level exists across the world. And although each countries situation is different there are certain key reasons as to why countries face this problem, and as science forms the backbone of an advanced civilization it is necessary for us as a society to fix this issue. First of all, it is important to understand that not all students are suited for a degree in science. Science subjects often require a high degree of critical thinking and problem solving skills and unfortunately not all students are capable of acquiring this skill. However, this does not mean that those that did not take a science subject did not have these necessary skills. There are a lot of factors that can cause students to not take science subjects at a university level. First of all it may simply be that the labor market for science graduates is oversaturated leading to high unemployment and low wages, both are not situations that graduates want to find themselves in, this is something that I have experienced as an Indian who has seen the oversaturation of engineering degrees and the subsequent high unemployment and low wages that engineering graduates faced. Secondly the quality of a science subject at universities may not be up to the standard that students want forcing them to go into other subjects that provide them with a higher quality education. And thirdly the quality of primary, secondary and tertiary education may not train students for a degree in science, it may not inculcate the necessary skills that are required for a science degree at a university level. All these factors force students that are capable or may have been capable to handle a science degree to instead pursue a different career. This artificial deficiency in science graduates causes severe problems in society as science for the past 2 centuries has been the driving force of progress for humanity. This lack of science graduates shall inevitably lead to the stagnation of society as we are unable to progress, something which is critical as we face problems such as climate change, food shortages, flooding etc.. To conclude, the number of students taking science degrees at university is not enough and systemic change in labor markets and the education system is necessary to fix this issue. After all without science society would still be an agrarian economy that survives on subsistence farming.
