I don't watch tv so really didn't know who George S. was: what a pleasant discovery! It is so rare to find really intelligent, well informed interviewers these days. He clearly prepares well for his interviews and this is no exception. And Ms. Judd is incredibly articulate and intelligent in her commentary as well. Really a pleasure to watch this interview.
While totally enamored by her striking beauty, I also feel a spiritual connection to Ashley. I too know what abuse and depression feel like, and I too have come through it all with a zest for helping those in need, and a feeling of strength and joy. There's something to be said about going through hell before getting to Heaven. It taught me so much. I feel like I'll never get lost again. I fear no hell now, for now I know how to deal with hell, and turn it into Heaven. Thank you Jesus!
I met Strombo in the street once. I was on a Street Car. He was just outside the bank, and I jumped off and approached him. He took for a moment for a photo, and we chatted for a minute. I miss his humanity with his interviews. He is just as genuine off camera as he was on camera. I would love to see this show and him brought back. He really brought and showed that no matter who was across from him in the chair, he could connect with a down to earth side of the guest that could just bring out their core and values without having to feel like their in an interview... but more of just a friendly engagement.
I think the unspoken thing no one talks about regarding the mother, Naomi Judd, is that she is a borderline personality. She put her daughters through A LOT. If you read between the lines when it comes to the things the daughters say, and don't say about her, hepatitis c is not what caused all the fighting and The Judd's break-up. It's actually some kind of mental illness. Ashley's book is very sad. Sexual abuse, neglect, and loneliness. This happened because her mother needed so much attention, was impulsive and put herself first. It's very sad because Borderline personalities aren't born, they are made that way through childhood trauma. If you have the insight you can get the treatment and get better, but if you don't, Borderline parents tend to create Borderline children. This is a tragic, multi-generational, preventable waste. Both daughters have serious depression, which the whole family talks about in interviews, and Ashley has been hospitalized several times. This personality disorder destroys relationships and ultimately lives. The suicide rate is 50% greater than the general population. We haven't heard the last of this family because they are all wounded and get a need met hugely by doing interviews and talking constantly about their accomplishments.
You are a jealous nasty person. You sound like the wounded one. You know so much about BPD bc you have it not the Judds. Get help lady and stop putting people down to boost yourself up!

Ashley Judd is a natural beautiful woman, when I look at her I can tell shes never had nothing done. First time I saw her was in this movie with Ewan McGreggor, he was freshly famous from doing Trainspotting, anyway she really acted in that movie.
She stands up for women's rights, AIDS education, social justice, informing the public about human trafficking....the list goes on and on.... (See 00:57 of the clip). She's one of the few celebrities that has a voice and knows how to use it to help others. That's WHAT she stands for.
I believe Weinstein had her black balled because she wouldn't screw him, as he threatend to do to all women in Hollywood. As time went on, marriage and then her education and humanitarian work.
Pinkme001 Raised in church certainly does form your beliefs. Ashley stated her belief in God is due to her being taught about God since a child. Many atheists were raised atheists. Heathens were raised heathens. What you are taught in your formative years FORMS you. It maps out your path in life. Get real.
Ashley, has always been such a huge inspiration to me. Since I was a teen. But I must say I am a little puzzled at her response regarding her faith. (Mind you it is HER faith) but since we are commenting . . . growing up going to Sunday school and going to church doesn't make you a Christian. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ makes you a Christian. I am not a fan of religion; a relationship however will offer you eternal salvation with the Most High. I still love you though Ash!
Ashley Judd is one of the few excellent actresses around today who are using their celebrity for something more than their own ends. She is only saying what most women are - or should be - saying about contraception and as for those who believe she should "shut up and stick to acting", has anyone else noticed that is all they CAN say? They have no articulate and logical response to anything she has said in her interview. And her views on Rick Santorum don't go far enough. The man is shameful!
she does appear to have her left eyebrow arched higher than her right, risk with botix or plastic surgery. Ashley is still beatiful & talented and intelligent. I do however disagree with her views on procreation. The catholic church disagrees with birth control use, the church does not pay for families bills & therefore shouldn't tell congregation members how to or not to control family size. Realistically, sure people have humanitarian sides but in general cannot do much to help when financially for the majority of us we must work to make ends meet. Life is a struggle to manage, & most of us are not lucky enough to have the financial means to achieve our goals like Ashley. Good interview. She's very well spoken & does a good interview.
Well, lets not forget that like our President, she laments the "unfairness" that the poor are "stuck with", but appears to enjoy every second of the amenities that her income allows.
Everyone has some humanitarian qualities, but most people spend most of their efforts on selfish goals. That's sad, because selfish goals don't deliver the amazing joy humanitarian efforts bring. Why, the greatest thing I ever did was rescue a kitten. The joy that gave me triumphs over any selfish goal I ever obtained. A person actually has to be a humanitarian to know any real lasting joy. It's simply a law of the heart. Depressed people are usually very self centered. I know. I was one.
When you have spent your own time, money, resources and efforts abroad fighting rape, incest, poverty and disease, then you can belittle people who do.
It seems that her plastic surgery went wrong... I'm sorry for her... She is still beautiful, but the plastic surgery is noticable... One eyebrow and eye seems to be lifted and the other eye and eyebrow seems "Immobile" or not able to lift up like there is paralysis or ptosis of the eye... This is sometimes common when botox is injected... It can affect some of the nerve endings near the eye and cause Ptosis or eyelid paralysis... It can also be temporary or permanent depending on factors.

I don't know. But I see your point if it's true. What I DO know is that she's toying with the idea of moving to Kentucky to run for senate against Mitch McConnell. While her mother may be from Ashland, KY, Ashley knows nothing of Kentucky and it's a stupid idea. We have enough problems here already and do NOT need somebody bringing the sort of political ideas that have ruined California. My question to Ashley Judd would be, of all the disagreements she has to contraception and abortion and other forms of birth control, the church and the similar beliefs of Santorum are what have had great impacts in Africa and those same causes she strives to fix have been impacted most by the church. What does she think of the church if those facts were presented to her like that?

Ashley Judd is a beautiful, classy lady. I respect her. Do I agree with her views on Christianity? Well, how much of what she's saying is rooted in the Bible? To be a Christian, is to believe whole-heartedly in God through His word. So much of what she just said immediately and effectively contradicts the Bible. In other words, to believe in God is not just to believe in what YOUR understanding of Him is.
What kind of Christianity are you talking about? 😊 hehe Sorry but couldn’t avoid the sarcasm there because there’s no such thing as “following the word” exactly as it was written. No one, absolutely NO ONE is “the right Christian”. And for that you have to understand the history of the religion in its entirety. Christianity has been altered, divided, re-categorized since the beginning of its existence. No Christian on earth interprets the religion the same way, no matter what. Just to give you an example: the Bible is written in gospels ACCORDING to the disciples that lived the situation. Each one of them experienced the same situation from different points of view and angles.

I commend her for many of the social issues she volunteers for and she is very articulate but her liberal moral and political values are inconsistent with her goals. Contraception is fine but too many abortions are occurring. There can be no middle ground to the issue.She speaks of women's rights. What about the baby's right to life?She is too glib for me.
She is a great actress but her messed up beliefs are a curse of her Harvard education...One question I would ask her is, of all the work she has done in Africa, the Catholic Church has made a great impact by making contraceptives difficult to get and AIDS and a lot of what she desires to make an impact in has occurred. I like Ashley Judd but to attack Santorum is more so attacking women that think it wrong. Men generally don't care but family planning is not only abortion or contraceptives.
For all of you haters that are calling her a man hater. Trauma that occurs in childhood imprints forever. It is a lifelong process that victims learn to live with. If you were viciously attacked by a dog as a child it is likely you would be careful around dogs. Maybe not all dogs but some. It is a normal defence mechanism to stay away from things that bite. Cut this woman some slack. She is doing the best she can.
Ashley, I admire you for leaving the film industry and doing something worthwhile for the community and especially woman and children. Seeing that you also know about molestation and rape.
