Tim, truth is Kanye went on a massive ego trip and thought that public opinion would always be on his side. When he realised it wouldn't he's being humbled. But it's a tough fall for him. This is what we needed to hear from Ye! I get it now. Sometimes, after the fight and all of the hooplah, it just takes us to sit down and talk it out like family and let each other know how we inflicted hurt on the other. I am grateful that he shared his struggle...we don't know if you don't speak up. But in the end Kanye is our brother and he is entitled to feel how he feels. We love him, always have!! We were just wounded by his careless words. I'm glad he's home and I'm glad that he is reaching back to those who kept him grounded and reconnecting. He is just an alien from a different planet that has only one race...I wish I could visit!

I don’t watch too many of these interviews, but wow. This was well worth the hour and something mins. What I like about Ye, is that he is constantly evolving, even if he faulters he can come and acknowledge that. I really like how he addressed the mental health. I feel a lot of times, in our society, it’s taboo to talk about mental health or depression and not feeling “happy”. We all to some degree suffer from it, just based on the environment. He is trying to promote an idea of one race because we even though there are many characteristics that divide and differentiate us, we still are similar in the sense that we are all people. If we really can put differences aside and love everyone and just work hard in life with the intention of trying to contribute to the overall progression of mankind then we can all benefit and live a better life. I think what he meant to say mental conditioning that slaves were subject too had them believing they weren’t really slaves. “Slaves” on a large southern plantation outnumbered their “master” 100 to 1. Everyday they had the choice to rise up and kill the people who enslaved them. But they were prevented from receiving proper education about the world around them. All they were taught was life on a plantation. When the choice of freedom was presented to them, they didn’t know what that meant. When he says “400 years of slavery sounded like a choice” I don’t think he meant it to be derogatory towards black people. He touched on the mental conditioning of ALL people that is going on today.
