FULL INTERVIEW WITH ALFEROV, WHO OVERCAME AN INCREDIBLE JOURNEY TO THE UKRAINIAN SIDE
Humiliation and Violence in the Russian Army| What is it like to be a Russian officer
An interview with Daniel Vladimirovich Alferov, a lieutenant in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation who voluntarily surrendered as part of the "I Want to Live" program, has been published on a RU-vid channel.
Alferov graduated from the Ussuriysk Suvorov Military School and the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School. After completing his education, he was assigned to the 136th Motorized Rifle Brigade in Dagestan, where he served as the commander of a strike motorized infantry platoon in a strike motorized infantry company.
Alferov shared that the training at the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School did not always live up to the promotional promises. Despite assurances of modern simulators and equipment, cadets often encountered outdated machinery. He also discussed the contract he had to sign, obliging him to serve an additional five years after finishing the school and to repay the cost of his education in case of early discharge.
Conversation with a prisoner of war and a call to relatives

This man's story would actually make a really good war movie about this war. His story would show an already terribly run military transform itself into a gang of murderers and thieves and how he was able to get certain good soldiers under his command liberated from the Russian Army and then his quest alone towards freedom. What a remarkable story. Best of luck to him in the Freedom of Russia unit.

@@chriscarlino5561 there is bias in any account, including books & movies. It's a great story. Maybe there are some biased details, but so what. There's more truth in it than the average Hollywood movie.
@cattymajiv
@cattymajiv 4 месяца назад
@@chriscarlino5561 That is definately a possibility, but you can't say that for sure. I'd say the odds that it's totally factual are 50/50. You are saying the odds he's telling the truth vs lying are 0/100. I don't buy that. I say he is lying a bit about some things, but there is an awful lot of what he said that ALREADY HAVE BEEN VERIFIED. We know for a fact most of what he is saying IS HAPPENING in 99.99% of the Russian army. So the only question is did all of this happen directly to him, or did he only see some parts of it, but not have it happen directly to him. In that case his testimony cannot even really be called a lie. So what if it was really him who got beaten up or if it was the guy beside him, while he stood there fearing he would be next. In my books it's the same thing either way, because we know for a fact those things are happening throughout the whole Russian army absolutely everywhere.

He disparages the widespread use of Russia's cultural life blood - Vodka-which increases the courage, the spirit, the virility of the Russian commanders as they bravely drive thousands of ordinary conscripts into the trenches and the mine fields in Ukraine! Vodka makes an ordinary commanding officer smarter, braver, better looking and yes - TALLER the more they drink as they lead in the battle! This young man should have encouraged Ukrainians to use their superior logistics to deliver millions of bottles of Russia's Finest to the trenches where under fed, poorly led, home sick conscripts could cuddle with a bottle of Vodka, then dream of the 'Mommy-Land', while Ukrainians approach their position. That woman’s “man” has decided he wants to return to Russia and his mommy if Russia ever does another exchange!! She deserves WAYYY better which was obvious by the way he acted when he saw her!! After an extensive background check and several lie detector tests she’s now working for the “I WANT TO LIVE” program helping Russian families who contact her looking for their relatives! She’s done a few interviews with POW’s whose families reached out to her looking for their husbands/fathers/sons etc. She says she has no plans to return to Russia even though the man she came for says he’s going back!! She says she’ll stay & continue helping POW & KIA MIA families and help to try & end the war!! Of course She couldn’t go back even if she wanted to now thanks to the loser she left Russia for & even though she could go anywhere she chooses to stay in Ukraine which I greatly respect!! In the end her loser “man” did her a favor because now her and her children will have a better life outside of hellhole Russia & my guess is she’ll find a wonderful Ukrainian man who will deserve her love and loyalty!! Her man of course doesn’t yet realize or believe that he will be returned to the frontlines even if he’s exchanged just like all the others who’ve been exchanged were!!

@suzannekelly4882 & Btw, their main RU-vid channel's name is VOLODYMYR ZOLKIN, written exactly that way like on his 2nd channel here, just the other way around. On the main channel his first name Volodymyr stands first - he just turned his name around for his 2nd channel here, that's why some people here believe, his first name's "Zolkin" although that's actually his surname - that's also the reason he's called Zolkin in some comments, as some commentators had falsely guessed that Volodymyr's his surname. But regardless, the journalist in this interview here is Mr Zolkin's college, a Ukrainian journalist named Dmitri, I believe he also has his own channel named "Apostle Dmitri", which goes back to a russian wife sarcastically calling him an apostle.

What an intelligent and genuinely good hearted person, it´s even in his eyes. And the stuff he had to go through is mind blowing. I wish him only the best and hopefully he will be walking as a free man with the whole Ukraine soon. Although, I think, he deserves more than 3 thousands, for those 11 normal guys and bringing himself to the Russian unit :D

Moonshine is the best with Russian literature - said Vasya I couldn't disagree more. So we made a toast to Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Bulgakov, Platonov. We also raised our glasses for Pushkin, Bykov, Prilepin, Nabokov and for Vasii's beloved Ekaterine, for my health and his, for those who cannot drink, for Russia to flourish a little more carefully and for many other things... After four, when we were resting in silence like soldiers after a battle, Ekaterina came. Dragging her sad love behind her, she straightened Vasya's dangling legs, covered him with a blanket and kissed on the forehead. Vasya is Ukrainian, Ekaterina is Russian - they don't watch TV, don't read newspapers, don't listen to the radio, they just live together and love each other.

I disagree. This young man does NOT qualify for any level within the Powerful, Brave, Russian Army - the Number. One. Army. In. The. World!!! This deserter is sober, does NOT obey - a very poor example of a Good Russian fighter!

Close enough. How absurd for Americans, who know and care nothing at all beyond their own borders, to expect people from the farthest east reaches of Europe to know that! I'm surprised they've even heard of West Point! I'm Canadian and I had no clue where it is. Why on earth would anyone who isn't a US soldier even care? I'm in my 60s and I only just figured out that Washington DC is on or near the East Coast a short time ago. AND that Washington State is on the West Coast. I still don't know the names of all the states, or the capital cities of any of them, or the approximate location of most of them. Why would I? Do you know where Brampton, Regina, or Yellowknife are? Or the difference between St John and St Johns? The whole world does NOT revolve around the US. There are well over 7 billion people who don't give a damn about the US.

@@cattymajiv I am from the Czech Republic. I have spent several years in Australia. I can tell you that it is not only people from US who lack basic knowledge. They might have university degrees and stuff but what is from that when they never finished elementary school in the first place. Generally people around the globe have extremely poor knowledge of anything (geography, history, culture, books,...). I met a guy from Phillippines and he told me that he has read only Bible and it is the only book he needs to know....very pathetic. Especially nowadays when everybody has smartphone with unlimited data, google maps,...
