This man is so wise and the way that he articulates his terrible history is so heart-wrenching. I hope he lives so we can hear his voice and his memories for years to come.

I looked up holocaust survivor interviews because i was curious about how human nature effected the cultural norm of that time. I dont recall ever hearing of people fighting for food only just always try to be in front of the line cause there was never even close to enough food rations given to them. So i was curious how human instincts somehow cause natural selection. Why do some get enough food but others dont and did they not share? Was there tension and constant hostility between prisoners ? Well after listening to him tell his captivating yet deeply saddening experiences from the holocaust I got more than i learned more than i expected. I'm a history nut and have studied both world wars extensively and i still love when i learn something new especially when feeling like have heard the same facts repeatedly its refreshing to know theres more to learn
@juliaturner6658

Some prisoners learned to barter for food , such as those who worked moving dead bodies and found rations on the corpses or worked in the "Canada" commando. Sharing was not an issue outside of a small ' family ' of three to four people as there was never more than that TO share.

@@roslynbyers5415 There were most certainly fights over food reported from from former prisoners at Mauthausen. Touché; there was nothing natural about this and if human nature was displayed by anyone it was the Nazis while the Jews rose above it.

Don’t forget, it was 11,000,000 people murdered in the Holocaust
@robertandhollyscorpiofan2697
Erm, that’s only an estimate. It will never be known exactly how many were murdered. So many were taken to an isolated place; and by the end of the war, record-keeping had become sloppy.

The description should say when this interview took place, and when the Holocaust victims remembrance day is: january 27 of each year, the day Auschwitz was liberated by the Red army in 1945.

I want to see movies about these people not comic book make believe hero's. These are the real hero's of WW2 the story of survival. Watched several of these one common theme was how the Polish people hated the Jews. While some Polish people did help most did nothing, or assisted the Nazi's in rounding them up turning them in. Many of these countries the Germans had no idea who was Jewish who wasn't unless they were native speaking it wasn't that easy to know who was Jewish all the time. The countries where the Nazi's got little help from the civilian population in rounding up the Jewish people is where the least amount of Jews ended up in extermination camps. Italy was an example of a country of all places where local population did not hate Jews and didn't have much cooperation.

Thank you so much for sharing with me an infamous fragment of the Hitler's Nazi horrendous regimen, via this interview. It must have been a painful odyssey to recollect such memories and to recount them; they only echo the evilness of Hitler and his followers. The crimes and cruelties committed against my sons and daughters, my fathers and mothers, my brothers and sisters hurt me deeply, regardless their ethnicity and nationality. In Isaiah 2: 4, Jehovah God, the Creator and Source of life, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, promises: "He will be judge among the nations and will settle matters in relation to many peoples. They will turn their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. The nations will no longer raise their swords against each other and learn no more to wage war." My immediate neighbors are Jews and I am a Jehovah's Witness. Their hearts are superior than pure gold by far. They are extremely kind. The gentleman takes care of my trash can every Wednesday without my asking him to do so. They are lovely human beings, and they are not in need of the smallest improvement.

God bless you Sir. Persecution is here again! Oct 7 2023! And it’s been justified by different ‘everyday’ communities! Why? Watching this I wonder at mankind. We turn away from God so quickly, and, when a nation does this, ‘the longest hatred’, bubbles up to a boiling point. Then a tipping point. Am Yisrael Chai.

Curious to know why the word 'anti-semitic' is only used for this race of people whilst for everybody else the word is plain old 'racism'
@lizcoello1095
@lizcoello1095 2 года назад
The word ‘antisemitic’ defines the hatred of Adolf Hitler for Jews. He orchestrated the Holocaust to torment, starve and torture and kill both male, female and young Jews.
