Well, onboard an LNER Azuma train service to Lincoln Central. This is a relatively new destination for LNER, with 2 hour services only starting when the 5 car Azumas were accepted into service. This is an extension to the stopping Newark North Gate service.
We called at all the generic LNER stations, including, Stevenage, Peterborough, Grantham, Newark North Gate and final Lincoln only 2 hours after leaving London.
I was surprised how busy this service was, I assume having only a 5 carriage train makes this more visible and a more viable route, however, even in COVID times, the first class section was full. I was even more surprised at how many people joined the train at Stevenage, I guess it makes sense, as this gets to Newark North Gate around 15 minutes before the York, Newcastle and eventually Edinburgh service. Good use of connections LNER.
