That was absolutely amazing to watch and experience. It was a beautiful Autumn 🍂 Day, so comfy! When you got to the top of the Ferris Wheel, the views were absolutely stunning with those clouds too! Thanks also for the advice on pricing the ride there. Very helpful advice. Thanks for sharing that amazing experience AK! 👍🎡👍
I tried it to overcome my fear of heights but it didn’t work. I had my eyes closed most of the time and was clutching on for dear life. I couldn’t wait to get off 😅
Woohoo, you've made it to the London Eye! 🎡 I'm so glad you found a good deal by bundling three attractions! This reminds me of the High Roller in Las Vegas, so I can understand why the ride is pricey. 5:44 Interesting to learn there's no Capsule 13! 😲 The views are spectacular up there, and you've made the best out of it on a cloudy day! 😍 Hope you got some selfies in there. 😆 Thank you so much for sharing this amazing informative Ferris wheel experience in London, AK! 🤗
The idea of building a tall ferris wheel by the River Thames, London truly attract ton of tourists and a money making machine too!!.....it truly makes the city shines for real ....thanks AK for bringing us along the ride of our lifetime...🎉😂
It was £150 million in debt in 2005. It looks so out of place amongst some of the grandier architecture of ancient London dating back over a thousand years. This is just a fairground ride aside a Mcdonalds overlooking The Houses Of Parliament. It has had it's day now twith the likes of another eyesore The Shard giving better views of what was once a great City. Why not have a giant Roller Coaster near Buckingham Palace in Hyde Park..becuase like The Ferris Wheel (named after Freemason George Washington Gale Ferris Jnr) is unethical in these locations...
Now this Is one of the videos i've been waiting for along with buckingham palace and Big ben this is one of the wonders of london Thanks for the experience
The London Eye is not classed (generally speaking) as a "Ferris Wheel" per se, but as an observation platform / wheel as it does not "spin" in order to provide a "ride" as a fairground mechanism, but a high point within capsules which protect from the weather, (unlike the open seating usually found on Ferris wheel fairground rides) from which to view London, over and above both sides of the Thames. 🏴🖖
I timed my visit in 1983 for sunset. It was fantastic watching the floodlit buildings glowing in the evening gloom. Especially the Houses of Parliament and the clock tower, not yet named the Elizabeth tower. My seniors concession fare was £6.
Those were such beautiful views. It’s so great to be able to watch these videos. They give you an idea of what these cities, states and countries are all about. Thank you AK👏🏽👏🏽
Commercial business, it’s their right to charge what they feel is appropriate and your right to choose not to pay for attractions if yo7 feel they are overpriced. All of the main museums and galleries in London are free of charge, and there are free viewing galleries in many of the tallest buildings in London.
Originally convinced to be a temporary structure for the millennium celebrations. Now its the focus for the annual New Years Fireworks. I remember when the London Eye was being constructed. I even saw the Architects (Husband & Wife team) on one occasion. Years later at the opening of another one of their designs in Brighton i got their autographs.
rode it back in 2017 it was amazing apart from when you try to look at where certain things are on them ipads and people walk up to the one your using and press the different language and steal it from you
You’re a braver person than I, Ken. I’ve never had any desire to ride that thing. Actually, it was only supposed to be around for the Millennium but it was so popular that they’ve kept it around. The views are good though. I would feel very claustrophobic in that capsule - especially with other people in there with me. I heard a kid coughing in there. Kids are like walking Petri dishes. Be sure and gargle with some salt water when you get back to your hotel to ward away a cold.
This was cool I loved this 😊thanks Ak happy Friday to you & everyone that’s $86aud but the views were fantastic & thanks for all your awesome London vids they have been great!😊
The Houses of Parliament stunning architecture started around 1016 overlooked by a fairground ferris wheel (near McDonalds). Why is it most major cities have adopted these monstrosities almost always next to water. Such a blight on the landscape but they can be dismantled and moved in no time so about time they moved the eyesore to where it belongs..Blackpool or even better.. The Scrapyard..
AK, the Battersea Power Station Shopping Mall is a good recommendation. One of the Chimneys was taken down and reconstructed with an elevator inside to go up to a viewing gallery. 😀
Yes, the capsules are numbered 1 to 33 but with no number 13 capsule, meaning that there are actually 32 of them. But do you know why there are 32 of them? In case you don't, I can tell you that there's one capsule for each of the 32 London boroughs.
The number thirteen is avoided in all sorts of numbering schemes, but so what? The numbers are just ways of naming things using a familiar series. We could just as easily skip the even numbers. I believe the first floor in England is in the U.S. the second floor because the U.S. first floor is in England the ground floor.
Coming from America 🇺🇸 London isn't that spectacular visually, 14:00 THIS is the City that Rivals New York on the World Stage 🤔... Not that impressive Visually
