Just bought one last October and have worn it practically everyday for half a year now though i have to say it sometimes is annoyingly heavy, but def enjoy wearing it. Also, you'd be surprised the attention it gets and is also a conversation starter. I totally forgot my other swiss watches.
Bought this same model last October 2019 and completely forgotten my other swiss watches since. Got it for $600, i know it wasn't a bargain at all but hey, it is that good!! Quite on the heavy side but i just love how it looks, the nostalgic design and it does get a lot of complements. The solar makes up for the accuracy of time as it automatically hooks up to an atomic clock and worryless about batteries. I'd choose to wear this for the long term.. Kikuo Ibe really did an astounding job in conceptualizing this based on the original version.
This is a superb watch! The heft, the finish, the fact that it just basically tells the time and never needs attention make it the perfect timepiece. I dislike resin bracelets and watches, so the full metal is my ideal watch.
I just spent my first-day wearing mine and am blown away with the quality of this thing. The finishing is amazing and is on-par with my Oceanus T200! I had to remove a link and the little spring bars freaked me out for a minute.

My 1JF model arrived from Japan to Australia today. I absolutely love it. Is it worth the $750 Aussie I paid??? Damn straight it is. It is top quality. TOP quality.
Got one last month. I went to try it on in a watchshop with the expectation that it would be unfomfortable on my thin wrist. But to my pleasant surprise, It fitten my wrist perfectly. (Guess because my wrist are rather flat). I just love it !!!
That endlink is exactly as it should be actually. It really makes the case flow into the bracelet. They redesigned that part with their forged carbon B5000's and imo it looks worse; a big distinction between where the case ends and the bracelet starts.

Thanks for the great video. I only just today ordered my metal g-shock, very excited. They are getting hard to find in Australia but scored one for AUD $720 which I thought was pretty good. Definitely won`t be using it as a beater, fortunately I have my trusty mudmaster for that. I was thinking the same as you. Just had to get one.
Was looking at and almost ordered a GW 5600 from Amazon which was selling it through the Amazon UK store non metal version for like $165 with expedited shipping. Don't need another G Shock, I have two inexpensive one's and a GWR-B1000 1a US version, cost me $660 with discount regular price was $800.00 sold from an AD with US warranty and is made in Japan. Reason I didn't get the 5600 is thee B1000 has all the same features (and more) and I do wear it often. I do use the app, easier to set things, set the clock to an atomic clock without having to put it on the window sill over night, but you don't have to use the app.. I do like having an analog dial over an lcd.
As always, great review!! Man I love that watch, well all the squares you've been reviewing lately. I have several Casio's now including a few G-shocks and protrek. My almost every day driver is my gstb-200a, I love it. I've worn cheap ($15) squares to work for years, YEARS and totally beat them to hell and back. Only reason I've had to replace them is because the band breaks at the lug and my super glue job quits holding..lol. Thanks again for the review and great channel, I am very interested in getting one of the metal squares.
I will be ordering the black n gold one like you have, and the metal one is definitely killer! But I couldn't justify the cost/value ratio, maybe if they didn't have the other ones like the black n gold I'd have to get the metal, but honestly I don't "need it" so I gotta pass on it unless they drop around $300 maybe, but I doubt that will happen hehe Still congrats and it's a real looker!
I have the Skmei €12-18 homage, yes it's steel. Well, it's a copy but has SKMEI about as bit as fits on there. Kind of like the thing. Around 140 grams I think, but could check for you guys. Bralet is of similar layout but vastly less smooth and tapered. Nice way to try the look.
$450 wow , I paid $650 (AUS) and that was a bargain, anyway, its sitting right next to the gold metal g shock which I think has more of a bling to it, also, saw the titanium for sale at $2,500 (AUS), which is beautiful, but not $2,500 beautiful.
You can also buy metal bezel's and bracelets from Ali Express to upgrade resin squares. I bought one for my 5610, and am thinking about one for my GWB5600 with the red screen. They have this stainless, a couple of black colors, gold, aged (black, stainless, gold, bronze), and even titanium. The regular metal options are around $70, the titanium $200. Quality is good. If you want to be cheap and don't care about the providence of being official casio :)
I am so TEMPTED to get this. I walk past the same shops that have it on my way to work every day. They are normally $1000 Aussie Dollars. Discounted to $750 Aussie Dollars, but still....DO I DO IT????????
First link don't move. Naaaaa that's something people with medium to small wrists don't like. That will not hug the wrist and create a gap between wrist and watch lugs. That's a fail. If casio is thinking only about big wrist people, Sorry casio i will don't buy unless you consider people with medium to smaller wrists in your designs and sizes.
