It should be noted that the Prime series now has a more solid connection to the overall plot of the Metroid timeline thanks to Samus Returns, in which Proteus Ridley is the final boss and is visibly still healing from his injuries and cybernetics he received in the Prime series before the events of Super Metroid.
Could be but not necessarily, the existence of a cyborg ridley in that time period (between metroid 1 and 2) might be just a shared concept on both series.
Even so, a consistent and concrete connection between games is always better imo. Alternate timelines and periods just adds unnecessary confusion when in this case both outcomes are identical, the existence of Cyborg Ridley. But hey, if yous have a better reason why a split branching timeline is better, I’m all ears.
@@Just_Shaun I don't mind either way but I think that branching the prime series from the mainline games would be beneficial for the series, giving the developers more freedom on what they can do with Samus and the lore. Right now, the Primeline is essentially a filler arc but it doesn't have to stay in that position forever. These games are good and different enough to be elevated to the same position as mainline Metroid and be able to build its own version of the Metroid universe without having to worry about what Sakamoto has in mind for his next game.
Just as a heads up, the Priate Homeworld in Corruption (called Urtraghus in the Japanese version plus unused scans) is not the actual Homeworld of the Space Pirates. In the Trilogy artbook, it is described as "one of many Pirate Homeworlds," meaning, it's more likely akin to what Zebes is to the Space Priates ie. a planet they conquered. Meaning it's loss to the Galactic Federation isn't as devastating as one might think meaning we could easily face multitudes of Space Pirates in Prime 4 as we got in Federation Force.
The artbook isn't canon since the dates have been retconned by federation force. Plus after super the pirates are extinct so the losss of their homeworld in 3 was devastating
@@novustalks7525 What dates would those be? And even if that were so, those would just be minor contradictions, it wouldn't make the entire thing non-canon. Other Metroid games have had contradictions, but it doesn't make them non-canon. The artbook is most certainly canon. I should state, the loss of Urtraghus would certainly be devastating, just not quite as much as we thought it to be. Prime 4 could actually further bridge the Space Pirate losses. Remember, we got to fight scores of Space Pirates in Federation Force, ie. a game that takes place after Corruption. ;-)
0:38 Proto Ridley: "Am I a joke to you?" Also, not really. Sure Metroid 2 makes it sound like the Pirate's plan of using the Metroids was what the GF needed to go an extinct them, but... why not also the catastrophe of a fricken Metroid that evolved into the dark version of a deadly bounty hunter?
Metroid primes are truly amazing games what i want to try defenietely metroid prime trilogy on wii and switch remastered version. I like space games. 🌌
I think Sylux is samus younger brother (Solomon Aran) he hate the galactic federation for unknown reason and samus, but I think is because he was only 4 years old and he don't remember he have a older sister, he don't know samus is a woman and his sister.
I’ve seen everyone just assume that prime 4 will take place directly after federation force. Who’s to say it isn’t far later in the timeline, after Fusion or Dread, even?
I have only just beat Remastered for the first time since I never owned the original or Trilogy but it's irritating me I presently can't play the Prime games numerically. Seems silly going from 1 to 4 without knowing what happens in Echoes and Corruption 😫 Come on Nintendo, Gimme!
Metroid Prime Series in Chronological Order: Metroid Prime (Remastered) Metroid Prime Hunters Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Metroid Prime: Federation Force Metroid Prime 4, TBR
With this whole Metroid Renaissance I actually wouldn't mind Federation Force being ported to Switch- or better yet, a sequel with an art style more in line with the rest of Metroid Prime or Dread. ... really, I just want more shooters with splitscreen multiplayer...
@@SALTYTOAD00 It was the timing and marketing. People were Metroid starved and it was not a good choice for a struggling series. Don't know how they expected anyone to care about the federation after Other M anyways lol.
Not gonna lie, I think metroids(at least the regular non evolved ones) are kinda cute. They're just little green, evil life sucking jellyfish-like creatures.
I never played Federation Force; I have played the other Prime games though. This video was a nice refresher and taught me some things. I was confused when I saw this video in my feed because I thought more Metroid Prime 4 news dropped. Guess you wanted to get this out there to inform others of the narrative.
I'm wondering if it'll have to do with phazon again. Phazon was seemingly destroying in prime 3. Unless there's another planet like phaze they might have to do something different.
"Doesn't reference the other games" First pirate log in the game references the end of Metroid 1. "Zebes has fallen. All ground personnel are presumed dead, either killed by the Hunter clad in metal or in the subsequent destruction of the underground facilities. Our research frigates Orpheon, Siriacus, and Vol Paragom were in orbit at zero hour and managed to retreat. Frigate Orpheon is now docked at Vortex Outpost. Orpheon's cargo appears to have a 100% survival rate; Metroids are healthy but on restricted feeding schedules due to uncertain supply status. We are ready to begin research on the Metroids and other promising life-forms. Security status remains at Code Blue; no signs of pursuit from the Hunter."
@@AschaVovina the phazon sped up the degeneration of everything. And that's actually how I felt about SR388. I was so sure the events with the chozo were thousands of years ago
MP1 : Destroying The Metroid Prime within Tallon IV impact crater/ dark Samus is born MP2 : Helping out the Luminos race and destroying the ING and Dark Aether MP3: Destroying Dark Samus and planet Phaaze MP4: Unfinished Business with Sylux from MP Hunters
Meta Ridley and Mecha Ridley are not the same thing. Mecha Ridley is from Zero Mission, which is not covered here. Meta Ridley is Ridley enhanced with cybernetics, which is in Prime 1 & Prime 3.
This is literally the first true remake of the first Metroid Prime. Metroid Prime Trilogy was just an HD port of the 2 GameCube games and Metroid Prime 3 on a single disk.
