Theyre just color changes though, probably no harder than shinys.

New Pokemon require new models, animations and all the move, stat and other data about them; whereas Alcremie needs only new textures, (and a replacement sweet, which is a very small model) and that's basically one PNG file's worth of difference.

Yeah its just some relatively easy color changes for the different flavors. The hardest part was probably coding the evolution logic

While I do think 20 is definitely excessive on his end, the 70 forms is more just useless than anything. If the different forms had, say, different stats or abilities, then it would be much more forgivable. Instead, it's just an aesthetic change like Spinda that doesn't change anything. Even Basculin with its two forms had different abilities, so why not Alcremie?

@@atlat412 because it's dumb and too over the top? 70 forms with 70 different abilities and whatnot, just make a different pokemon.

@@Aiden-rw3vbAbilities was just a possibility. The idea I had in mind was to have the flavors relate to differing sub-types while the candies would be for slightly different stats, like with the Gourgeist forms. The Pokémon could've been some cool mix n' match style where you could work to whichever you believe would be the best combination. Plus, it wouldn't even take that long since stuff like stats or typings aren't nearly as complicated as creating new models, especially since all the code is already in place. I guess I'm just disappointed with Alcremie? Like, it could've been much more interesting than what we got with just the differing color palettes and candy shape.

I think for celebi a smaller grass type like budew would fit better
