The shooter shot 3 magazines of cartridges, people called 911, Police got there in ONLY 2 MINUTES.....and the criminal was STILL ALREADY DONE AND LEFT THE SCENE. Only YOU can defend you. The cops, EVEN WHEN GETTING THERE IN 2 MINUTES, can't protect you.
you shouldn't have to have carry a gun to protect yourself. no other first world country in the world has this problem like we do. and the solution is staring us right in the face and we refuse to do the right thing. that's the saddest part of this story. cowardly politicians and a corrupt Supreme Court who are on the payroll of gun manufacturers and their lobbyists. and gun nuts who think they need to carry because of other gun nuts carrying. It's a problem of it's own making.

Ever since the Reagan era, there were cutbacks in Mental Health Services in the United States. What we were told was that we'd have "community based Mental Health Services," rather than large hospitals or institutions. Geraldo Rivera also did a hit piece specifically on an institution that was designed for the care of Developmentally Delayed Adults. It was said that "no one should have to live their life, locked up in an institution." The truth was that people didn't have to live their lives at this institutions and had visits at the facility, as well as time to spend and home or homes of relatives. Many people were dependent on these institutions and it was seen as a "huge tax burden" to the general public. Well, here we are with a huge homeless problem and mass shootings, as well as many other crimes that are committed by people with diagnosis. Essentially, we are now paying so they can ruin local businesses and get put up in correctional facilities; where they develop more problems.
So much hate in the United States of America. The ones who's paying the price is the children and innocent people. And it's just the beginning of summer 🤔
Wow… I can’t even imagine the stress these officers have gone through in processing this situation. Sending prayers to those victims, especially those sweet kids. 😢No child or anyone should ever go through such terror.
I never needed t carry for 57 years. This year i trained and now carry at all times. Its a pain to carry, but if the need arises and I can save a child it is worth it. This is the world we live in
Very sad. I wish our government would be more forthcoming about mass shooters as many are mentally ill. We need to focus a lot of resources on mental health. I wonder if meds were involved? Many shootings they’re finding out the people are on SSRI medication. But they won’t ever talk about that

why? If God hadn't wanted them shot, they wouldn't have been shot. An omniscient and omnipotent being doesn't make mistakes or change their mind on the whim of a few people no matter what your little book says. If it were true then nothing bad would ever happen because millions pray every day for peace. But it does, so he either doesn't care, doesn't exist, or wants us to solve the problem ourselves.

It is a GUN FREE ZONE. At the swim park, NOBODY IS GOING TO CARRY A GUN when they have their swimwear on and going swimming. No concealed carrier will leave their gun with their towel while they are swimming, so the shooters know NO ONE WILL FIRE BACK AT THEM. This is what connection they have to these places.....they ARE SAFE FOR THE SHOOTERS.
The worst place for this sort of thing is the security line at a busy airport. Everybody is shuffling around, they all have bags so that's not suspicious, there is nothing to hide behind, nobody is armed in any way, and there are only a few security agents not expecting active violence. Everybody is a sitting duck in those places. Gave me the creeps last time I had to fly.
@@LatitudeSky - Actually, in States where concealed carry is a Right, you CAN carry your firearm in the airport in the area before the TSA area. This would be like when you are dropping someone off and maybe spending some time with them before they leave, or when you are picking someone up. After the TSA inspection, you know no one has a gun on them.

The suspect has mental challenges, but don't disparage someone just because they live at home "with mother". In this era of homelessness, it is not a harbinger of mental health just because a person lives w/his parents. Many of us do. Folks, it's not a signal of a challenged person.
It's reported the shooter RELOADED 3 TIMES. That blows out of the water the argument for MAGAZINE SIZE LIMITATIONS SO THAT SHOOTERS WOULD HAVE TO RELOAD MORE OFTEN AND PEOPLE CAN THEN DEFEND THEMSELVES. This did not work that way at all. It made no difference.

That's always the quick and easy response that gets mentioned multiple times after any shooting. No one ever takes the time to consider how anything could be implemented that could actually lower numbers without stomping on people's rights and steering this country into a dangerous direction. Everyone has to become mentally rational and at least attempt to understand the time and resources needed. Then they have to become mentally rational enough to accept that things will still happen.

That immediate area is very safe with virtually no violent crime. A major Hospital is less than 2 miles away. Very disturbing for people that live in this area. Obviously mentally disturbed or drug psychosis. Shelby Twshp is the immediate city to the East, whose Western boundary would be less than a mile away.

I live in Rochester. it is one of the safest communities in this state, and this still happens. Im going to be carrying a firearm as soon as possible. I will be trained well in the operation of that firearm. I will know it like the back of my hand. I will not let this happen to my children or anyone elses if i can help me. Im still very bummed that this happened. It could happen anywhere.

Why does this sheriff mention the race of some people and not others? This is very confusing what’s going on in our world where at times they can say the race of somebody and at times they can’t I don’t understand it at all.
They were showing the shooters house. What else he had is still relevant. It doesn’t make the rifle evil. But it could have been another tool in his arsenal to hurt/kill people.

The people need to know who committed this crime. When they know who it is , their picture needs to be made public if they’re still at large ? Making violent felonies into misdemeanors makes for more violence because predators fear no reprisals. Leniency is seen as weakness by these predators. 😢

All parents need to understand that they are responsible for the lives of their children; no matter how well motivated they are, the police can never get there in time, 99 times out of 100. Sit down with a cop, share a meal and they will bring you up to speed as to how to protect your family. May God bless and comfort the victims and their families, they have my sincere condolences.
This is such a tragic event and our thoughts and prayers need to go out to the victims and to all law enforcement officers. Our government has systematically removed God, Country and Family as the pillars of our society. Sadly this is exactly what happens when you do. There were 71 people shot just last weekend in Chicago alone, with multiple mass shootings in that number, not even mentioning any other city shooting counts. I have felt in my gut, this was going to happen at a splash pad/park. Specifically the one closest to my home. The pad is directly by the road. There is no reason for not having more protection at these places!!! Michigan is not untouched by tragedy… WHEN ARE WE GOING TO LEARN AND TAKE ACTION!!!!! My heart is in pieces for these children, the adults and our state. 😰
