Smashing video mate, she is a stunner, really lv the in depth detail. I love to her people being so enthusiastic about their builds. Nice to hear she is a keeper.
Great video pal, I’ve had my ep3 for over 5 years now and it’s still standard with only 66k on the clock. Going to start adding performance mods soon, do you notice much difference with the coilovers?
Thanks man! Damn! That is crazy low! The coilovers are great! They stiffen up the ride and make it handle so much better. It’s on another level when you get all the other bits you need to get a Fast Road set up though!
Great video Olly! I will definitely be giving a few watches and cherry picking what I want to change on my EP3. I can't believe how cheap it was for the hondavert and a remap, I've been getting quotes in the thousands. One thing I will say is that I have Michelin PS4s and in my experience they're brilliant in the dry, but when it's wet you have to extremely careful not to find the nearest ditch.
Awesome! That is great to hear as that is what I wanted this video to be! Quotes in the thousands! That is crazy! A Kpro V4 and a map should be costing around £1100-£1200 I think. That is the top end of spending unless you are looking at standalone prices. Good to know about the tires. I still have plenty of life in these Rainsports so we shall see.
I found your channel when i got my ep3 a few weeks back and im loving it, just wondering, where did you get the recaro headrest pillow, love the car bro and love that you actually go into detail with the parts, common W
That is awesome! Congrats on getting the car! I actually got them from a stall at Japfest a few years ago. No link for them unfortunately! I am glad you are enjoying the content!
Awesome car bud! It’s amazing and upsetting at the same time when you sit down with pen and paper and work out the cost! Which kinda shocked me! If it would make you feel better, my car after going through receipts for Mugen and Spoon parts including my jdm ep3 owes me just shy of 30k! 😢🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂😂👍
I have an fn2. I love it, but this kinda makes me want an ep3 🫣 I love the shape and it’s starting to look like a modern classic. Very nicely done too, OEM+ ftw
Very nice video and in depth explanation. I'm not sure if I'm fully a fan of the vignette on the video thumbnails and maybe on the colour grading of the video itself as I prefer things to be brighter and pop, but maybe that's the theme you purposely go for and I also run quite a low screen brightness :D (Edit: It does have a cinematic look though)
Thanks for checking it out. This video is a little outdated now as I am running different parts and more power. I do plan to do an updated version of this once I have finished the car. If you check some of the more recent videos, you will see the full journey but the short answer is it is now running 254bhp peak power
stunning car. i used to have a civic sport and loved it but always wanted a civic type r ep3. in your opinion do you think there are still good used examples out there? I'd love to get one!
Not sure about these specific seats but I'm 6'3 and have the prem edition seats, plenty of headspace for me, if anything I'd have liked to be sat a bit higher up
That will be a pretty amazing first car but you may struggle to pay the insurance on a car like this. Have a look on Autotrader so you can get an idea of how much they are and keep watching the prices over the next few years until you are ready to buy one.
From the research I did when looking for a solution, I found that the oem tps is notorious for failing and a bit of a mission to calibrate. That’s why I decided to get the Acuity one. Worth giving the iacv a clean first as that should be easier
Depends on what you are looking for? Do you want an epic B road car with a great engine that loves to Rev but doesn’t have a massive fuel tank and isn’t amazingly fast in a straight line?? If you want a drivers car that will put a smile on your face then get one but they aren’t to everyone’s taste as they don’t have a modern interior or sound deadening. I love it because it’s just raw driving and great fun!
@@OllyRoss Thanks for your reply. I'm really leaning towards getting one and feel like what you describe is exactly what I want. I'll let you know if I do end up getting one 👍
Ah yes! Sorry, I didn’t mention it because mine came with some on the car so they slipped my mind. I have nothing for bump steer but I do have rear camber arms.
@@SmittyHD-zq7gk I have hardrace front ball joints but I think they are just OEM replacements. Thanks though man! I can’t take credit for the ride hight as that was all set up by Motion Motorsport as part of their Fast Road Set Up.
@@OllyRoss okay sweet i was looking at the hardrace extended studs! Lowering my ep3 in BCs and want to have a agressive ride height for daily driving. Thanks for getting back to me have gotten so much help from people and figuring out the geometry on the suspension! And what works best thanks!
It is a hard one. Has it had a timing chain done? I think from the outside looking in, high milage might be seen as a downside but if it is a well looked after engine with regular oil changes (or just not running too low on oil) then that would be better than a 80K milage engine with no care. The main thing that people will look for moving forward now is the condition of the shell. How rusty it is will be a major reason to resale value. What are you spending the cash on??
Would be happier about getting a fast road setup than a tune on my own car, getting access to chassis black magic is so worth it. But unless you've already upgraded most of the suspension components to adjustables, it doesn't make much sense
Well you technically can’t get a proper fast road set up without everything being adjustable anyway. But yeah, you are completely right! It’s probably why I didn’t go for more power sooner as it transformed the car
oh god its like a kid was given a chance to tune a car. fake carbon and red washers everywhere looks like shit. also I think my grandma has those wheels.
Wish i knew how much but no way im sitting through 25 minutes of this to find out..............shame everyone keeps making such long boring videos these days!
I guess it depends on what you want from the video. I made it for people interested in parts on the car which is why I spent the time talking about every part and linked it in the description. I couldn’t really make it much shorter. If you want to know the cost of everything together then you can just skip to the end. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
