Full restoration high pressure air compressor engine - Restore large capacity air compressor 

I have to disagree here - restoration means to restore back to new, NOT just strip down, paint everything then rebuild as a lot of these "Full restorations" do. This has done absolutely nothing except make it look pretty. I saw the cylinders were still rusty, the crank journal was rusty, same bearings re-used, same piston rings re-used, pistons rusty - in fact nothing was restored except the gaskets and changed the oil. For what good this has done there was no need to strip it down, he could have just painted it assembled.

No washer on wheel axle, split pin not properly fitted. Air receiver welded and not pressure tested (or safety valve). But the biggest sin is no gland fitting on the motor or electrical boxes! 3 phase wiring going through a hole with sharp metal edges. A air compressor on wheels will shake a lot and it will not take long to ware through the insulation and kill soneone!!!! bad news

There is so many things wrong with this video. No new parts. The bearings in the 3 phase motor... just replace them.. but then dont hammer on the outside races. You can HEAR how bad those bearings are now when they powered up the motor. Nothing was replaced, nothing was refurbished. The teflon tape was backwards in half the shots, then there was teflon put onto the clamp nuts for the air lines.. they dont even hold air pressure. This was... terrible. The motor sounds horrific. The sounds it was making are the sounds you hear when you should be replacing the bearings PROPERLY. Yea, this was terrible. They didn't tighten the belts. The preload adjustment on the compressor bearings... which were assembled dry..... no overpressure valve... reciever not tested... the list goes on. I wouldn't have this thing within 100 meters of me.

Do not hit the outer race when driving the bearing. Let's hit the inner lace

Hmm.. @1:43:30 the sound of chipped bearings, yay.. Maybe @1:31:25 you could have reinstalled them without hammering the outer race around.. use a tube on the inner race and a press.. I'm sure you could make a press with the stuff you find.

For what good this has done there was no need to strip it down, he could have just painted it assembled.

Machined surface such as cylinder or threads, shall not be paint to avoid leak failure. and pets should keep clear out of the factory while painting, and welding should keep clean, to be free of dirts,dusts and paint, or weldings to be done before painting, and lubricants as grease should apply during pulley and shaft assembly.

I have been a mechanical engineer for 40 years and never ever stripped a 2 r s bearing re greased and refitted, always replaced said bearings,

Painting over those surfaces was a pretty rookie looking thing to do, as was using a. claw hammer to cut that gasket material.

What I would call 'asian redneck' -style. Wearing dress shoes while spray painting, the dog getting high on paint fumes, and nothing other than a bad paint job was done to the compressor which will work just as good or bad as it was before. 🤣

Why even start it. No pre lube on ANYTHING. No torc wrench on the cylinders or piston rod bolts.

Falta muito detalhe, não limpou os pistão, não trocou os anéis, não bruniu as camisas, não limpou( lixou) a ponta do eixo onde coloca a polia( volante), não lubrifica as camisas para montagem, não gostei nota 4

Como diz o ditado a tinta tampa todos defeitos, aparência 10, mecânica e detalhes técnicos muito a desejar, nota 4

The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is dry fitting the parts together. Assembly llube works great. Nice job I hope it runs well.

Worse than a "sloppy so called restoration" is the assembly procedures. Who in their right minds pounds on bearing using the outer race over a shaft. That is OK if you are putting them in a recess but totally wrong for installation on a shaft. I never saw the tank being pressure tested. If it was really rusty on the inside it might fail under pressure. Compressed air is much more dangerous when it fails as compared to a hydro test.

that motor sounds not happy, probably the way the bearings were installed. I would of tapped them down on the center race not the ou side of the bearing. it sounds like the bearings are not seated

Has anyone seen this damage on the tank when they cut off the base and why didn't they sand it and check the pressure? Why weren't new pistons and rings installed, no one retracted the cylinders, and the old corroded valves are a joke!!!

What the hell? I didn't see any engine. I was expecting to see a combination engine/air compressor. (there is such a thing) There's a big difference between an engine and a motor.

One thing i would encourage you to do is keep your pets out of the area when you are either removing paint and rust, or painting. Dusts and vapors are not good for them anymore than it is for humans.

It is strange that so little was done to repair the unit. Perhaps it was just to present it looking better. I don't know.

Welding over paint is not a good practice. The welding should have been done before the painting, then the welds wont rust as quickly.

Sure... just take everything apart, wash it in diesel, then spray it all as colorful as possible and put it back together. It doesn't matter that the rusty cylinders and old rings remain, the more colors, the merrier.... Videos are really made by everyone who has a hole in their ass. :))

This not a restoration, just a clean up and paint job. The biggest mistake is no inspection or testing of pressure vessel and associated pressure relief valve. If no valve fitted as original a suitable valve should have been installed. Very poor show.

В начале видео реставраторы не догадались переставить лапы на сьемнике, чтобы сделать его двухлапым) Чтобы снять переднюю крышку подшипника в ней сделаны два отверстия с резьбой, туда вкручиваешь болты и она сама слезает, не надо колотить молотком)

This is a very bad way to mount the ball bearings on the rotor. Il is needed to apply the force on the inner, but NOT on the outer. Now the ball bearings are out of order and noisy as the test shows. It need to be remplace ball bearings for a long service.

'restoration' is hyperbole, 'full restoration' is just a lie.
