Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to subscribe and hit that 👍! Let me know what you think of the Rogue. Overall, I feel like it offers a good balance of comfort, space, equipment at competitive prices in this segment.
how well does it handle freeway when? 1) driving into the wind? doe sit struggle to maintain the cruising speed? 2) freeway driving up hill? is it able to maintain cruising speed?
I was glad to watch your review. I just purchased this same vehicle but in all black instead of the pearl white body, and I agree with everything you said in this review. It’s got a great look and it’s so easy to drive, it feels like you have a cushion of air under the vehicle while driving it. It’s very roomy, and it has just enough throttle to be fun as well. I feel like I got a great deal of features and luxury for my money.
Thank you! That’s awesome...it certainly does feel like it has air under it, smooth driving. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your Rogue..good choice on the black too, that always looks nice. Thanks for sharing that and for watching!
I just bought a 2018 Rogue SV today! It's not a midnight package, but it's black with the black rims. It's got the panoramic sunroof, premium audio all loaded. The only disappointing thing I saw about it, was the black rims. They're actually rim covers, and not the whole rim. So if I took off the covers, it's just a standard alloy or aluminum rim behind it. But they still look sharp! Was great to find a 2018 1 owner with only 16k miles on it!
wanted to add that i’m literally 4”10 and i LOVE how much my seat moves AND how comfy it is!! i have it all the way up and it’s actually perfect!! just got my car and i loved this review!! as someone who doesn’t know much about cars, this review was very helpful!!
I've always like the re-design of this vehicle, I was even a Nissan loyalist for quite a while, owning two in both the basic & top rims. However, Toyota ultimately won me over with the amount of features and amenities for the price, and while I am typically not a fan of ctvs, I do feel that if I were to own a vehicle with a cvt trans, it would be a Nissan equipped one, as I do feel they make one of the cvt trans in the business.
I like them too! Curious what they will come out with next for the redesign. Can’t blame you on Toyota, you really can’t go wrong with them. Thanks for the input and for watching! 👍
Good review. I have a 19 Outback that has more headaches than it's worth - amazing for a subie but I want something else. The dealership is offering me a great deal. It's been 3 years since you recorded this, would you still recommend it?
Is Nissan still using the very unreliable JATCO CVT? I had a choice between this and the 2018 Honda CR-V EX-L. I went with the CR-V. Matter of fact can you tell us which one you prefer and why?
Yes they are, as far as I’m aware. I would pick the CR-V snd that transmission is a big reason I’d avoid the rogue. Both are spacious, comfortable, and drive similarly but I feel like the CR-V is the better option. I remember hearing about the oil dilution in the CR-V 1.5...but I’m not sure what the latest status is in it and it seemed to only be a problem in cold weather states. Have you noticed or heard anything about that?
@@PrimeAutotainment I got my 2018 CR-V EX this past March. I haven't had a issue with oil dilution. I'll rather deal with that than an unreliable JATCO CVT. At this point you'll have to think Nissan is intentionally building these CVTs bad.
I test drove a 2017 and thinking about the 2018 SV package in black for purchase I’m on the fence about because of complaints of folks on a fb post about the CVT on Nissans. Can anyone tell me their thoughts on the CVT of this vehicle? Currently there is a lawsuit involving CVT on Nissans. Thanks. Excellent video Nolan. I’m thinking of buying.
I’ve heard various things too, from trouble free to nightmares across different vehicles. I don’t have any personal experience with them so I’d love to hear others input as well
I am on my third Nissan and second Rogue with a CVT. I have not heard of the lawsuit, but my experience has been very positive. I did notice some transmission drone in my Altima. When I got my first Rogue the transmission was considerably more quiet. 3 years later I'm on my second Rogue and I honestly don't understand what the big deal is at all about the CVT, lawsuit aside. I find it smooth and responsive (but certainly no Speed Demon), the car is more quiet than the last edition with more standard equipment. To me the transmission does not make itself known unless you floor it. But then every transmission is noisy at that point. In addition, I have not had one issue with a Nissan in the six plus years I have been leasing them. So far I am very pleased. As a way of comparison, my previous car was a newish BMW that I had nothing but issues with.
Diana Prince if you plan on keeping your car for as long as possible, I’d recommend the Rav4 with the traditional 6 speed automatic and 2.5 engine. It will last you 20 years if you want. The Nissan’s are ok for the first couple of years. But they definitely cost more to maintain after the warranty period compared to the Toyota. But, if your just going to keep it for a few years, you should be fine. Most issues don’t arise till the vehicle is older. Best of luck.
7 months on my 2018 rogue loving it I got the sv sun sound touring + premium I think the only thing it's missing to be a sl premium is home link led front light leather seats and pilot assist lol
Good job Nolan. Another great review. Just wondering, do you think its worth a look, especially on a healthcare workers salary? I was thinking to check out the Rogue, what say you? Thanks.
Thank you!! I definitely do...it’s got quite a few features on each trim for the price. Personally I would probably compare Rav4/CRV as well...each has pros and cons. For buying one...depending on cash, finance, lease...it should be doable. They have these on a discount too but that depends on each dealer/time of year. Could get a lightly used one like this too for cheaper. Lot of factors to consider
Can't wait for you to review the new redesigned Toyota Rav4, 2019. I have that on my list too. Thanks Nolan, you're the best reviewer. Down to earth, and always keeping it real.
I'm lookin for an suv to buy . at the moment I own a hundai santa fe 2011. im not sure what to get yet.a Toyota chr 2018 or a Nissan rogue sport or a chevy trax.your video help but im still betwwen those cars.ooh boy
I’m glad it could help. I guess the biggest thing would be to test drive and see who gives you a good deal 🙂. I’ll be testing a CHR next week but haven’t been in the Trax before. Good luck with your decision! All of those will be quite a bit smaller than the Santa Fe so keep that in mind. If you wanted another Santa Fe..they redesigned it for 2019 model year meaning you could get the 2018s on a discount most likely.
I’ve heard people with mixed experiences. I don’t own a CVT so I can’t speak on it but some have said they’ve had no problems whatsoever and others with transmission failures early on.
It’s quite a bit different than the Tahoe. Lot smaller overall, lot less power, different driving dynamics. It’s still a good SUV for the price, but not in the same class at all
Typical crap for americans. I drove this car for 6000 miles and my verdict is - this is crap. Prymitive seats, "media system" looks like chinese toy, sound is horrible, noisy, ugly interior. Heavy and no power (typical american "car"). My Audi is like rocket technology comparing to this "car". This is chinese junk.
Afterwatching your in-depth review we purchased a new rogue. We purchased the SV AWD. And we couldn't be more happier. Thank you for the honest review of This SUV.
