This week on episode 54, we get to learn how to build a complete shower and toilet bathroom inside of ROAMR.... This bathroom has a flush toilet and shower making it a Wet Bathroom and is a necessity for my full time van life goals.. For the midnight pee breaks and the quick rinse off after a day on the beach or riding my motorbikes, and with the current conditions relying on fitness gyms for showers and public bathrooms has become fairly unreliable..

There actually exist an original English drawing from Queen Victorian period of a picture of a newly invented toilet WC which included a toilet paper roll which showed the paper as confirmed here in you video. Best wishes from London. Love your videos mate.

Good job with all your videos. Just an FYI. Plywood is stable and does not need any gaps. It's alternately plied so that each direction cancels the other. Also, you really need a waterproof membrane and not waterproof wood treatment. Liquid rubber on the plywood first

Hey Jeff. Standardly the spout on the faucet for the shower hose goes down. I know that because I broke one before in an rv I had years ago.

Honestly, before installing I was on the same page as you. BUT, Standardly the Cold is the right tap and Hot is the left tap.. This unit has on arrow on it clearly marking the spout upwards, and if you mount it downwards the (C) (H) marked handles would then be backwards .. I found this odd as well and I did record about this even, but in regards to video length, I need to pick and choose what is shared and soooo much footage hits the cutting room floor... Actually thinking about it, since your shower valve is up higher than most maybe that’s why I’m thinking that. Anyway as long as it works. Looking good by the way. I’m trying to locate a van and am finding it hard to get what I want without paying and arm and a leg (and one of our kids). Lol

I am in awe of your can-do attitude and willingness to stop and think until you come up with a viable solution. I only hope that when I finally get around to my build, that I am as creative and problem solving as you have shown yourself to be. My only suggestion for your new bathroom is that you put up hooks or rods for hanging space. You will need somewhere for wet towels and swimsuits to dry, as well as someplace to put your shampoo and soap. Although, in the later case, a tote you rest on the toilet would probably work just fine.

Yep I've seen loads of people's FLP panels start to delaminate using the standard FLP adhesive. Especially when they glued the FLP to the ceiling of the shower, they are getting sag in the boards as it comes lose over time. PU adhesive is the way to go.

Put a one way valve on the hot water side for the shower, when you turn it off for a Navy shower, the cold water likes to go down the hot side.

Good job. Perhaps installing the faucet upside down would take tension off of the hose connection point. (Common in Europe.) Thanks for putting this video together!

I love you videos great job on the shower. Somebody my have already mentioned this. Maybe you should have spun the facet around so the hose is at the bottom. That would be less strain on the hose and that fitting. Thanks again. We are getting and all aluminum cargo trailer made so we can turn it into an off road camper with independent suspension, 12000W off solar. Using all 80/20 for the build.

could you have rolled out the adhesive to make it thinner (and spread it more evenly)? given the strength I don't think it would have been weakened. Awesome vids by the way, thanks for sharing all this!

I would have put that valve the other way so the hose hangs down instead of up with the bend in it.

To trim the FRP use a router and a stand off bit for trimming laminate.

Great work! But, why did you decided to point the shower hose connestion upwards. As it is of plastic, it has more chance to brake that way.

Is that shower tap set upside down? I would have thought that the part connecting the hose would be pointing down, and it kind of looks weird the way the hose is sticking up and bending over.

With respect, isn't the shower handle mounted upside down? I think the shower hose should be hanging from the bottom of the dual handles, not the top. Right?

awesome job Jeff. Quick question, why did you decide to install the mixing handles that way which appears to be upside down. I would think the shower head would screw in from the bottom of the mixing valve and then droop down and then up. As apposed to up then down and up again.

This unit is installed the correct direction. If I mounted so the spout was down the marked (C) (H) handles would have been on the wrong sides. I should have discussed this more in the video but just felt it was getting too long already. Thanks for watching and commenting...

I did not. Honestly not sure if it was the right decision yet, but the maxx air fan is just outside the door was my thinking... If I become not happy with my decision, I can always add one once traveling.

I don't understand. why add layers after leyers after layers of wall, when you can put plywood on, tech7 the joints, seal it with bathroom sealant like you do behind tiles, then put proper paint all over the walls. You then have a sealed tight bathroom. no need to add an insane amount of products and layers. job done.. WHY go through all those steps? its not necessary.

Thank you for watching and commenting. The exhaust fan was something i debated for a very long time, because the Maxx air fan outside the shower is only 10" away, I decided not to put a bathroom fan in. Not sure if it was the right call yet, but we can talk about that once we are driving. One could be added if I find it is a serious inconvenience!
